Two Hearts [ ; ON HIATUS ]
Outside, the sun went behind a cloud.
Jennie laid on the couch in her bedroom. She let out a deep sigh. Suddenly, she heard a few knocks on the door. “Yes,” she answered.
Automatically, Jennie sat straight when a familiar head peeked inside. She gave a smile.
Jennie raised her eyebrows, “What do you want?” Her best friend made her way into the bedroom and sat beside her.
“Jen, why do you always went home early nowadays?” Hana asked, eyeing her. Jennie shrugged.
“Well, it is because my class finished early,” she answered, avoiding from looking into Hana’s eyes.
Hana shook her head repeatedly, “Liar. We have same schedule on Tuesday and Thursday, okay? I know you are lying. What is wrong with you, Jen?” she snapped.
Jennie stayed silent and her head bowed down, looking nowhere but on the floor.
Hana placed her hands on Jennie’s lap. Her eyes soften at the sight of the miserable girl beside her.
“You met him, right?” she asked. Jennie suddenly faced her blankly, “Who?” she asked Hana in return.
Yes. I met him and I am scared, she told herself.
Hana shut her eyes and released a soft breath, “Jimin. Park Jimin. The one who broke your heart two years ago!” she blurted fiercely.
Jennie bit down her lower lip. Her heart beat so fast at the call of his name.
She hesitated, “I don’t want to talk about it Hana,” she said as lightly as she could.
“Now you tell me,” said Hana.
Jennie said nothing, but she gave Hana a keen, searching look. Her eyes begged to understand her as she wanted to be alone right now.
All the weekend and throughout the following week, Jennie worked on plans for her presentation day. She had to do the best and get good grades.
There was never enough time to be with Jimin, and that was frustrating, but even more frustrating was Jimin himself. He didn’t even call or came to visit her.
She sighed. Maybe he didn’t want to disturb me, she thought.
What if he had another . . . .
She quickly shook her head and slapped herself on the cheeks.
Be positive, Jennie! Be positive, he won’t cheat on you, she told herself.
She could sense his passion every time he made time just to be with her. She smiled to herself, having thoughts on her weird boyfriend.
