More Than He Should Have

“Jaehyun!”

“Oh, Wonwoo!”

They waved to each other as they walked closer to find nearest bench to sit. Wonwoo’s house is farer than the makeup room but until now Hyemi was still nowhere to be found. She promised to meet Jaehyun outside, though.

“Where is the cheerleader?”

“I don’t know, she said that she will come out after changing the dress. I don’t know, she is strange today.”

Actually, Hyemi was still searching for Mingyu around the venue. Opening the door one by one, when sometimes there are people inside; or a couple who was making out. She would say sorry repeatedly, and still couldn’t find Mingyu.

He wasn’t in the backstage nor in the committee room. She just wanted to meet him and watch the rest of the performance together just like what he promised, but once again, he disappeared. If he’s busy, then he would be on backstage, telling the guest star to stand by. But once again, he wasn’t there.

The hall is empty since all the committees are outside, and she almost give up searching for Mingyu.

But a pair of hands suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her to the edge of the hall which is dark and empty. She was scared at first, but when she heard the voice, she couldn’t help but smile and give him a tight hug.

“I thought someone is going to kidnap me!”

“Yeah, kind of?” he laughed, hugging her while swinging his body left and right like he was hugging a little kid. “You are so pretty today.”

“But it’s dark.”

“I know, that’s why you are pretty.”

She punched his chest with her little fist as the guy laughed out loud. “You are annoying!”

“I know.”

He looked straight to her eyes, as she did the same. Both of them knew what’s going on, and what will happened next. He bent down a little to her height, as she circled her arms around his neck, and both of them moved to kiss each other.

Then he walked forward to make Hyemi leaned to the wall, and closing the gap between them. His hands roamed from her face to her neck, down to her chest. And she couldn’t help but moaned right after Mingyu slipped his hand under her shirt.

Skin on skin.

Realizing that she allowed Mingyu more than he should have, Hyemi pushed him slowly, looking straight to his eyes that was full of lust. “I’m sorry, Mingyu.”

“No, I mean. I’m sorry, Hyemi. I shouldn’t –“

He pulled the confused girl to a hug, leaning his chin on top of her head. And the girl’s mind was still blank. She doesn’t know why should he kissed her, even touching her, and why should she allowed him.

Is he her boyfriend? No.

He didn’t even say that he likes her. Not yet.

“The event will be finished in an hour, I’m going to meet you later.”

She nodded, and followed him to exit the hall. Looking at his broad shoulder from behind, and his back that seems calling for a back hug, she finally realized on how deep she fell for him already. The problem is, she fell in love easily with every pretty little things that Mingyu has.

The hall was dark, and he walked in front of her without even looking back to ask if she wanted to walk beside him. He was cold as ever even after the kiss that they shared. Even when she stopped her step, Mingyu didn’t realize and keep walking forward.

She questioned herself, is this really the way the she chose, to believe in Mingyu? The one that repeatedly flipped over her heart, breaking it into pieces and made her took the pieces by herself without any help?

Is he the one that she should trust?

Mingyu’s back couldn’t be seen anymore as he walked farer, and that made Hyemi leaned to the wall beside her, looking down to the ground. Anxiety, depressed, and stressed; are the things that Mingyu said when explained the feeling of falling in love. He might be right, because all that Hyemi felt was those three ever since they were together.

She closed her eyes, then let herself almost fall to the ground when a pair of hands supported her body to stand up. “Hyemi, are you okay?” he said, sounded panic.

“I’m just… tired.”

“Do you want to go home now? I’m sure Jaehyun is still here.”

Hyemi was too tired to fight with him. Is he stupid? She wasn’t there waiting for him all day just to be with Jaehyun in the end. “Kim Mingyu!” she finally shouted, shoved his hands then walked away leaving him.

“Wait, what’s wrong?” he said, while trying to hold her hand.

“I don’t want to go home with Jaehyun, please. Can you use your brain?”

“But you said that you are tired? I don’t want you to wait for me if you are tired, Hyemi.”

“That’s right. I’m tired, too tired to even argue with you. I’m going to wait for you, don’t tell me to go home with Jaehyun or anyone.”

Then he slipped his fingers between hers, “Don’t walk behind me again.” He said.

Wonwoo and Jaehyun were still waiting for Hyemi while Jaehyun told the story about how Chaeyeon just confessed to Wonwoo. Well, Wonwoo didn’t even surprised because he thought that someday this thing is going to be happened.

Just who wouldn’t be happy or have a heart attack when Jung Jaehyun constantly telling her that she is beautiful? Or caressing girls’ hair telling them that they have been working hard? Girls’ heart is fragile, he touched it; he shouldn’t leave it.

“What would you do with your brain if you had one, huh?” said Wonwoo.

“Huh?”

“Why do I have such a stupid friend, huh? How many times I’ve said to you to stop giving girls false hopes!”

“I’m not giving them false hopes, Wonwoo.”

“But you flirts with girls all the time.”

“What’s wrong with that?”

“That’s wrong, Jaehyun!”

Suddenly Hyemi sat beside Jaehyun, leaning her head on his shoulder. “I’m tired.” She said, making the boys looked at her curiously. Meanwhile Jaehyun pulled her body closer to hug her, and patted her back. “You have worked hard, Hyemi.”

“Look! That’s your bad habbit, Jaehyun!”

“What’s wrong with me?”

“Flirty to girls and giving them false hopes.” Hyemi suddenly blurted, with her eyes open, still hugging Jaehyun tightly. “Like this.”

Of course there was a time when Hyemi felt something different between her and Jaehyun. When they shared a hug, her heart beat got faster; or when they were sitting on the bed they had to hold the urge to kiss each other and throw the clothes away.

Jaehyun was always giving girls hopes especially Hyemi. And when she realized that he didn’t do it just to her no matter how much he said that he loves her, she decided to not holding into the hopes.

There are more than a thing that she should think about dating Jaehyun or even just liking him back. A flirty boy like him has a bad habit that’s difficult to change, about his family that helped her family so much, about the friendship that shouldn’t be broken, and more.

That’s why she learned to hold her heart, and she succeeded unlike the other girls who finally fell in love with Jaehyun.

“Wonu!” said Sejong from a far, and Wonwoo welcomed her with a hug.

“Hey, can we go home now?” he asked, while slipping her hair to the back of her ear, slowly. “Are you tired? Do you want to eat something?”

Sejong shook her head, hugging Wonwoo instead. “Yes, we can go home now. No, I’m not tired. And yes, I want some McDonalds!”

The couple made both Hyemi and Jaehyun shivered, then they copied the ways Sejong aand Wonwoo hugged each other, “Can we go home now? Are you tired? Do you want to eat something?” asked Jaehyun, while tightening the hug.

“She is going home with me, now.” Said Mingyu who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, making Hyemi automatically moved away from Jaehyun, leaving his arms.
