A few minutes after forcing down her dinner into her system, Yoona went straight up to study for the upcoming chemistry pop quiz. Studying was the only thing that could keep her mind off of thinking unnecessary thoughts, so although she was more than ready for the quiz, she still chose to re-read a few materials before heading off to her bed.

Yoona was answering questions about acid-base reactions in her workbook when she suddenly heard tapping sounds on her window. She turned her head towards the source of the sound and waited for another tap, but since it didn't come, she returned back to focus on her studying.

"Calculate [H+] from a known pH. Find [H+] if pH = 8.5," she muttered to herself as she began reading the next question.

Just as the tip of her pen was going to graze against her workbook to write out the answer, a loud sound came tapping against her window again. she stood up from her chair and walked towards her window in suspicion. She wasn't scared, no, she simply just wanted to know what it was. When she looked down her window and out towards her front yard, she wasn't expecting to find the dork that's been following her around standing on her mom's lawn. She couldn't deny that he looked adorably ridiculous wearing his snapback and a pair of black framed nerd glasses.

She shot open the her large window creating a loud thud to vibrate against the frame.

"What are you doing here?" Yoona mouthed, bewildered.

"I'm bored," Chanyeol whispered out loud, "Can I come up?"

She threw her head to the side as she drew in a sharp breath. Out of all the many ways, he just had to ask her like this.

"I can't. I'm studying," she grumbled.

"Please, I'll help you study."

Seeing him standing desperately outside her house in the cold weather softened her heart. Yoona found it cute when she saw the way his legs shivered to the cold, how his hands were tucked deep inside the pocket of his jacket and the way she could see his warm breath over the darkness of the night. She knew that by saying she had to study was only an excuse, but the longer she looked at him, she started changing her mind.

Yoona started gnawing at her bottom lip and her gaze wandered off to think.

"Yoona, you can take as much time as you want, but just so you know by the time you're done thinking I might be already frozen by then," Chanyeol joked--sort of.

She looked back at Chanyeol annoyed, "Okay, okay! Wait at the door. I'll come down."

He flashed her one of his huge eye-blinding Cheshire grins that reached his ears before skipping innocently towards her front door. Yoona sneered. She could've sworn if the guy wasn't so tall, she could've mistaken him as an mere 8 year old student.

She put on her white penguin slippers and tiptoed downstairs. From when she was at the top of the staircase, she could hear the sound of her television and when she heard words that were related to flour and eggs, she immediately figured that it was her mom. The fact that the front door was just right beside their house's living room was a disadvantage for situations like these. She cussed under her breath as she pictured the idiot whom she just talked to. Nevertheless, Yoona had to admit that she felt a slight tinge of joy when she saw his face smiling brightly outside her house.

Yoona gradually opened the front door. She was silently praying to God not to let her get caught by creating any squeaking sounds, and when the gap was big enough for the giant to fit in, she quickly pulled him in and led him up into her room.

She closed her bedroom door with a silent thud before facing the grinning tower behind her. She crossed her arms and put on a tired expression.

"What do you want, Chanyeol?"

"I told you, I'm bored."

She found it quite rude of him to suddenly wander around her room without her permission. However, she didn't quite care much because there wasn't a lot of things to look at anyway. Chanyeol took a seat at the edge of her bed and Yoona couldn't help but her eyebrows at him.

"What happened to your room?" he asked while his eyes still studied the area.

"Nothing happened," she sighed. Yoona returned back to her study desk but turned her swivel chair around to face the boy.

A short silence filled the air when none of them had anything to say, however the uneasy look on Chanyeol face showed otherwise. At the suffocating silence that lingered in the room, a thought suddenly popped up in Yoona's head when her focus shifted towards her window.

"Hey, I wanna show you something," she stood up from her chair. Chanyeol's eyes followed Yoona's figure anxiously as she made a halt when she reached her large window.

She opened the window widely as the cold breeze brushed against her cheeks and entered her room. After breathing in the cold air, she looked back to see the tall boy cocking his head to the side. Adorable, cute, handsome, charming, attractive, and dreamy: those were the words that played inside her mind nonstop. She shook her head slightly and tried not to look too obvious. Yoona curled up the corner of her lips before gesturing Chanyeol towards the window.

His face fell, "You want me to jump?"

"What?" Yoona's eyebrows narrowed in utter disbelief with how the boy's mind works. "No, idiot. I'm asking if you wanna come out on my roof with me."

"Ahh," the latter nodded.

Chanyeol walked forwards and held up the window for Yoona to step out first before he followed after. The moment he took a seat next to her, he let out an amazed sigh. Although the distance between Seoul and Incheon wasn't that far, there was still a difference between the skies at night. It was for sure that at times, living in small towns like this felt much more alive than living in the city.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Yoona uttered.

"Yeah," a soft chuckle escaped Chanyeol's lips, "I guess it is."

They sat in silence as they watched the stars shining in the sky and cars that would often pass by. Chanyeol's main purpose for coming to Yoona's house was to ask her more about what she had told him back at the school garden. Although his mouth was itching to speak, he couldn't bear to imagine how she'll react. It would either be him bringing up unwanted memories, her hating him and yelling at him to leave her house or worse, both. So instead, Chanyeol decided to enjoy the night with Yoona by his side.

"I know why you're here," Yoona suddenly said with her weak voice. Chanyeol raised his brows and turned his head towards her. She was still gazing up at the night sky with a painful smile playing on her face. From the way she avoided looking at him as she said the words, Chanyeol could easily understand that she was trying to hide something deep inside.

"Go on, ask me."

Chanyeol bit his lip. It turned out to be harder than he thought even if it was her who initiated the topic first.

"Uh, I..." he squeezed his eyes shut to search for his voice. When he thought he was ready, Chanyeol took a deep breath, "What happened?"

"My selfishness," she finally averted her gaze towards Chanyeol. The corner of twitched as it formed a small but short pained smile.

"Back then.." she started, "I was different. I guess I could say that I was outgoing, but now as I think of it more, I was just a reckless teenager looking for fun."

Chanyeol let out a short breath, "We all have our days."

"But that day for me was everyday," Yoona stated firmly. "My friend," she bit her upper lip as the image of Youngji entered her mind. She shook away the thought and tried to keep strong, "I.. I forced her to do something she didn't want to, and.."

Chanyeol immediately placed his hand on her shoulder when he saw her eyes were starting to glisten from her tears, "It's alright," he pursed his lips and formed a thin smile, "you don't have to tell me."

Yoona smiled back, however this time, she could no longer retrieve the single tear that had dropped from her eye the moment she saw Chanyeol's warm and tender smile. She gulped and brushed away the puddle that was forming in her eyes before forcing a nervous laugh. Chanyeol felt his heart clench when he heard her pained voice and seeing her struggling to even put on a real smile made him feel something familiar.

"Are you cold?" Chanyeol suddenly asked, clearing his throat.

Yoona sniffled, "Kind of."

She was slightly taken aback when she suddenly felt a light weight above her shoulders. Yoona turned her head to the side to see herself covered in Chanyeol's black and white varsity jacket. She shifted her gaze back to the boy and she felt as if she was starting to get used to seeing him smile at her so admiringly. Normally at times like these, Yoona still had enough sense of humor to pull out a simple joke or a small tease, but somehow this time all she could do was look away.

They decided to go back inside her room due the cold that was starting to freeze their bodies. Yoona looked at her clock which still showed 8 o'clock at night. She decided to offer Chanyeol something to drink to pass the time and luckily he asked for some tea.

When Yoona was definitely out of her room, Chanyeol decided to have a look around. He saw that there were a few traces of sticky tape left on the wall and although he knew that they might have been from her old posters, he couldn't help but wonder why she'd take them off. He walked to his right when he accidentally stepped onto something as it made a cracking sound. He looked down to find out that he had broken her pencil. Chanyeol picked it up and placed it back onto her desk.

He was going to walk out and look for the bathroom when a sudden sentence in her workbook caught his attention. Chanyeol narrowed his eyes towards her answer before a lopsided smile appeared on his face. He took to her seat before deciding to look at the work she's done.

It was only a matter of minutes before Yoona came back with a tray that held two cups in her hands.

"What are you doing?" Yoona asked as she placed the tray on her bedside table.

"Looking at your work."

"What?"

Chanyeol let out a breath, "You answered this question wrong."

Yoona walked closer towards where the boy was sitting as he turned in
