understanding you.     The moment the school bell rang signaling that it was time for the students to go home, Yoona shot up from her seat and took quick steps out of her classroom. Over the past few days, she learnt that it had become a habit of Chanyeol to wait for her at the school gates. Whether it would be him offering her a ride home, saying a few things to her or even just because he wanted to see her, regardless of the reason, Chanyeol would always wait with his hands tucked casually inside his pockets.

It wasn't that Yoona hated him for doing so, but because of her sudden out-burst, she didn't quite have the courage to face him, heck, she didn't even know how he must have thought about her at that time. Thus, when she had the chance to take the exit, Yoona didn't think twice to fasten her pace. Luckily on that day, it didn't seem like it was going to rain. Yoona felt a wave of relief wash over her when she realized that the school gate was still unoccupied by the students.

When she thought she was already far enough from the school to avoid Chanyeol possibly catching her, Yoona started to walk slowly.

Meanwhile, just like how Yoona predicted, when Chanyeol heard the bell ring he said to his friends that he was going first before walking past the crowd of students to wait for the girl at the gates. This time round, Chanyeol didn't want to talk to her just because he wanted to or because he wanted to see her face, but he wanted to ask her meaningfully about what she just said to him at the school garden. It was no doubt that he was shocked. Throughout the last periods of school that came after lunch, Chanyeol had his eyes fixed on the black-board but his mind was traveling out into his own world. He wanted to know what happened. A few possibilities came up inside his mind, but because Chanyeol didn't want to assume wrong thoughts, he decided to wait and ask the girl himself.

Chanyeol looked at his watch when he felt like Yoona wasn't coming out. He's been waiting for her for exactly fifteen minutes and there was no sign of the short haired girl anywhere. He would ask a few students that walked passed him if they've seen Yoona or not, but the answer would always be the same; they would scoff at him for caring about such a 'stupid' girl before shaking their heads in disbelief. His patient waiting changed into a feeling of wariness. Chanyeol was biting his lip anxiously while his feet continuously kept tapping onto the brick ground. It was only a matter of time before Chanyeol gave up and decided to talk to her the next day.

He walked towards the school parking lot with his shoulders slumped and no expression was playing on his face. The only thing that still engrossed the area was his black Yamaha sports bike. Chanyeol took his helmet before placing it on his head. He started up the engines and it took him no time at all for him to speed off towards his house. Chanyeol had a slight hope that he could still catch Yoona walking home.

It felt like luck was on his side when what he hoped for had come true. he found Yoona dragging her feet along the pavement as her head hung low. He turned towards the sidewalk before stopping the motorbike right beside her.

Yoona felt like she wanted to disappear right then and there. Although she knew it would be hopeless if she fastened her pace, she did it nonetheless. Chanyeol quickly caught up to her and when Yoona felt his tight grip wrap around her wrist, she shook it off violently after he managed to turn her around.

Chanyeol had his eyes furrowed questioningly at her. "You're avoiding me aren't you?"

"I'm not." Yoona shrugged. She tried her best to avoid any possible eye contact with the boy standing in front of her. It wasn't quite hard of a task to do considering his ridiculously tall figure.

"I can feel it when I see it." Chanyeol stated. "And looking at what I just saw, you pretty much just tried to run away from me like I'm some kind of stalker."

A small scoff escaped from Yoona's lips. She brought her head up and looked dangerously into Chanyeol's eyes. He gulped at the sight.

"Well, you kind of are. You follow me around everywhere. Don't you at least have something better to do? I don't even get why you even want to talk to me when everyone else is pretty much trying to avoid me."

It was then when it hit him. Chanyeol realized why Yoona was acting so unwelcoming towards him. After he found out about what happened in her past, she thought that Chanyeol would've thought of her the same way as everyone does. But he knew for sure that it would never be anything like that.

"Is this about what you told me back at the garden?" he questioned. Chanyeol's eyes became smaller as it tried to see through Yoona's mask.

"No."

"It is."

"Chanyeol, you don't even know anything." Yoona's voice was now desperate and her anger was starting to show. "Can you please just leave me alone and return back to your friends?"

"What if I don't want to?" Chanyeol breathed out. "Let me get to know you."

Yoona bit her lip as her anger suddenly disappeared again. Chanyeol could only see the fragile girl that was standing with her head down in front of him. It took him all he could to stop himself from bringing her into his arms.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"Because.." she sighed inwardly, "I don't want to cause anyone any trouble."

Chanyeol stood there as he watched her slowly falling apart. If seeing something like this everyday is was it took for her to allow him to stay close to her, Chanyeol would do it. Something inside him just couldn't let her go. Even though his friends call him an idiot for falling for someone like her so quickly, Chanyeol couldn't care less. Maybe it was just something no one sees in her but whenever Yoona was laughing wholeheartedly, she was just like an angel.

Chanyeol tore his gaze off her before returning it back. "Nothing can put me into more trouble than I'm already in."

Yoona brought her head up and narrowed her eyebrows questioningly. The moment they locked eyes, Chanyeol could only think of sending her a soft smile. He wanted her to not think about what he meant, but at the same time tell her that he was being honest and sincere about everything he just said. He felt relieved when she smiled back, although it was hardly even recognizable.

Chanyeol placed his large hands on both sides of her shoulders. "Please Yoona, don't hide your feelings. I'm not asking for anything other than you to just be yourself, at least when you're with me."

Yoona let out a short breathy laugh and rolled her eyes. "You're so cheesy I could've mistaken your words as a confession."

The tall boy brought his head down as he let out a soft chuckle. Chanyeol was relieved that he succeeded in not making her angrier with him but rather loosen her up. "Wan't me to take you home?"

Yoona bit her lip as she averted her gaze to his motorbike. Even though her brother has one at home, she's never ridden one ever in her life. Sure, it isn't a car, but isn't it supposed to be scarier than one? Chanyeol sensed her fear when he noticed that she hasn't answered to his offer yet. He took her hand and walked her over to his motorbike. Chanyeol took out something and it turned out to be a spare helmet.

"Here,"

Yoona stood there as she eyed Chanyeol nervously. His arm that was lending her the helmet was still left hanging in the air.

"Chanyeol, I'm not sure."

"Take it. I promise I'll go slow." he smiled, assuring her that he'll keep his words.

Yoona took a big gulp as her arm reached out for the helmet Chanyeol was handing over to her. He took no time at all to put on his and when it was fully on, Yoona couldn't help but stare. There were no words to explain how good looking and manly he looked sitting on his motorbike as he wore his black and white elastic color block jacket.

"You alright?" Chanyeol asked.

Yoona cleared the big ball of saliva stuck in , "Um, yeah."

She quickly put on her helmet. It was quite hard to get on the motorbike considering how she was wearing her school uniform skirt, but thankfully, Chanyeol helped her get on.

"You seem to know a lot about these things." Yoona said in a teasing manner.

"Don't tell me your jealous of my own sister." Chanyeol chuckled. "Hold on."

Yoona did as she was told. She wrapped her arms around Chanyeol's middle and she could sense him smiling to her touch over the layers of fabric. Although there wasn't much left, traces of the old and bold Yoona was still there. She couldn't help but smile to herself too when she pictured the face of the boy in front of her.

After closing his face shield, Chanyeol started to speed off. He was trying to show off to her but it ended up with him completely forgetting about going slow, so Yoona didn't hesitate to remind him.

It didn't take long for them to reach Yoona's house. After helping her down, Chanyeol walked her over to her front gate.

"Thank you." Yoona said sheepishly as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Don't mention it." Chanyeol shrugged. "I'd do it everyday if I could."

Yoona bit her lip as she tried to fight off the tugging at the corner of her lips. "You really shouldn't. I don't think the kids will ever look up to you again if they see you with me."

"What do you mean?" It sounded more like a rhetorical question so Yoona waited for him to continue. "They've seen us together a lot already."

"Yeah but, we don't know what they say behind our backs."

Chanyeol sighed, "Yoona, don't let what other people think of you get to you. It's only going to stop you from being what you really want to be."
