PART 1

[TIFFANY P.O.V]

I sat on my bed while stargazing absentmindedly; the scenery was beautiful indeed, yet… I couldn’t admire them properly while this feeling of anguish was making me feel this way. While everyone was having their dinner, I refused to go; after my earlier discussion with Jesse… *gulp* it made me lose the appetite. I closed my eyes after a long sigh and I felt a tug in my heart again while I remembered his words…

“Are you really that blind, Hwang? If—if only you knew who your precious oppa is… you wouldn’t be asking me that.”

“It’s very clear who you really believe and trust after all these years… forget that I exist and don’t you ever talk to me again. Don’t worry; it won’t be a hard task for you… Hwang…”

Even with my eyes shut, I couldn’t help but feel something hot rolling down my cheeks. I didn’t even need to touch because I knew it was my tears. Jesse… why did you have to be this way? Whenever I try to reach you… you're always pushing me away… Why can’t you just tell me what really happened? Why can’t you face me even once?! Can’t you see… that you were hurting me when you pushed me way? My heart ached, I still didn’t know if it’s because of what he did to oppa… or the way he looked at me so… broken… If I wasn’t so mad at him, I could see some sadness in his eyes… and what if he was telling the truth?

“Agrhhh! Why can’t he tell me what he really thinks!? He is so confusing! I can’t bear with his coldness and hurtful words anymore…”

I mumbled in despair as I burrowed my face in my hands. I didn’t want to cry, but he always has this effect on me, always… This anguish left a bitter taste in my lips, I felt a hole in my heart and there is nothing that I could do to make this pain go away. Instantly, a sob escaped from my lips as I muttered, feeling totally broken:

“I wish I could go back in time… I–I miss my be-best friend… I miss… the warm Je-Jessie… the one who-*sob* the one who a-always made me s-smile, t-the one w-who was always t-there for me… Jess-Jessie…”

Suddenly, I heard the door opening but I didn’t have the strength to look up; I just poured my heart, waling at my mistakes. It was when I heard a gasp and someone running to me:

“Oh my God, unnie! What happened?! Please, tell me what’s wrong?!”

No words left my lips, just moans of lament and faint cries. I didn’t have strength to keep this situation anymore, it was when I felt my little sis hugging me tightly while her hand was soothing me and making me relax as she brushed my hair gently. Minutes later, I regained myself a little and told her everything which she listened attentively. Once I ended, she looked at me seriously, still wiping my tears:

“Oh…Unnie… can I speak sincerely?” Seeing her serious tone, I merely nodded with my head lowered as she sighed deeply and stared at me:

“Unnie… you know I love you so much and I will support you in everything, but… although I didn’t liked the way Jesse oppa talk to you… I must say that I love him too as if he was my true brother just like Tae oppa… And from what you've told me… I am more than sure that oppa is sad like you… and he must have a reason to do that. Of course I don’t like violence, but if I were you, I would hear what he had to say because you always take precipice conclusions”

My eyebrows automatically creased as I looked down, thinking deeply on her words:

“D-do you really think so?” I pressed on and Hyunnie nodded assuring as she placed her hand on my shoulders:

“Unnie, I know it. But allow me to say that… you both are really stubborn to give the others a chance to explain everything. Unnie, make me a favor… next time… if oppa comes to you, give him a chance… maybe this is just what you two needed all along. Trust me okay?”

That moment, she smiled at me a little and leaned to kiss my forehead. I closed my eyes and couldn’t help but to feel happy to have such an incredible dongsaeng. She is always so responsible and sometimes, I think she is my older sister. My baby is growing *chuckles*, I thank God for her… Then, she commanded me to eat since I didn’t go to dinner and after that, we laid on our beds to sleep since tomorrow will be a great day. I'm supposed to be anxious, but still… I can't take Jessie off my head and… I – I really want to fix everything between us once for all… I am tired of pretending… tired to look though… tired of having him away from me… when the truth… was that I just want to be close to him like we used to be…

[NO ONE P.O.V]

By the morning of the Festival’s day a.k.a the Soshi Anniversary, the regent Jyp reunited all the gang, the Oracle Hyori, the princess and captain EunHyuk at the great ballroom where the servants were giving the last touch on the decorations. Like always, everyone was stunned with the place’s architecture. Out of sudden, the regent cleared his throat to get their attention as the princess was smiling widely at his side:

“Well, as all of you already know, today it’s the Soshi Anniversary and Festival. And hmm the reason I summoned each one of you here, it’s because I have an important announcement to make… it's the tradition of our land, in every festival… have the couple for a day…”

“COUPLE FOR A DAY?!” The entire gang blurted in surprise with their eyes widened as the regent giggled due the reaction and some of them blushed:

“That’s right. The couple for a day it means that each one of you will chose your respective partner to accompany the entire event. As soon the Festival starts, all of you must stay with your pair until the end of event, in that case, at night. So, I suggest that you choose your partners wisely since once chosen, you can’t undo your choice. However… let's begin, I will let you make your choice while I will end my duties. Don’t forget, this also makes part of our plan. That’s all, my brave warriors. Farewell!”

Once the regent left the huge room, everyone remained in silence while with their heads lowered in embarrassment and shyness. Surprisingly, while everyone was pondering who would be their partners; Yoong took a deep breath as he walked to the maknae. The latter was surprised when she raised her head and met a pair of adorable doe-eyes. Yoong’s cheek was completely flushed as he looked down and muttered coyly:

“Hmm… Hy-Hyunnie?”

“Yes?” She promptly answered with flickering eyes as he looked up and stared at her caringly with a shy smirk on his lips. In return, she felt her face getting warm and her heart was thumping hard. He sighed deeply and carefully, he gingerly reached her hand as he said gently:

“Hmm… S-SeoHyun… will you be… my date?” “Oh.” SeoHyun gasped in surprise and looked down to hide her flushed cheeks, yet she felt really happy with his invitation. So when she looked up, she saw her unnie giving thumbs up with a smile. Then, turning her attention to the apprehensive boy, a coy smile crept on her lips as she nodded gently, yet excitedly:

“I – I would love to… Yoong-oppa.”

The latter widened his eyes in surprise with her answer, yet opened a huge crocodile and charming smile. Not even at this moment, he withdrew his hands of hers; he wanted to make her realize how he really felt, even if it was bit by bit. At the other side, there was Yuri and Jesse looking at the scene with a smile on their lips. Out of sudden, it was time for the black pearl be surprised as well when she jolted in surprise as she felt a strong, but warm hand touching her shoulder softly. Once she looked to her side, she couldn’t help but chuckle and blush when a tall and tanned boy was fidgeting his fingers like a shy kid as he spoke nervously:

“Hey, Yuri-ah… if you don’t have any plans… I – I could be your partner if you want… just if you want! If you don’t want to, I completely understand---!”

“Shh sometimes you talk too much, did you know that?” Yuri shushed the tanned boy aka SooYoung as he widened his eyes thinking that he would be ditched. When she removed her finger, she was on her tiptoe as she placed her hand on his shoulders while placing her finger gingerly on the tip of his nose:

“Of course I will go with you, silly. But I am warning you, I am very strict when it comes to time, so you better fetch me early, mister!”

“Aish, okay, bossy…” He mumbled and rolled his eyes playfully as he rewarded with a slap on his shoulder. When their chocolate eyes met, they couldn’t help but to hold the endearingly stare as a genuine smile emerged from their lips. Maybe tonight can be her chance, Yuri thought, and she will go for it if this means to show what she really felt for this loud, whining and caring tanned boy. At the end of the row, a blond dancer was looking the commotion in the gang and wondered if she would be alone again. But her thoughts were certainly wrong when a man bowed like a true gentleman and reached her hand elegantly, saying genuinely:

“Would give me this dance, milady? Can I be your partner… again? Please say yes…?”

HyoYeon couldn’t help laughing at the captain’s hopeful tone. Letting it flow, she bowed as well and answered at the same way, smiling:

“It would be an honor, kind sir.”

EunHyuk practically beamed at her answer as he nodded his head showing his excitement and happiness. Quickly composing himself, he cleared his throat and looked to his side to cover his blush while HyoYeon admired the scene caringly, once they looked at the other’s eyes again, an inevitable smile would appear, they were really happy. However, even when 3 pairs were excited and happy with their choice… at the other side of the row, 3 pairs were lost in their thoughts, kinda… sorrowful, uncertain and longingly. Slowly, Jesse raised his head uncertainly as he looked before him, then he became surprised to see that Tiffany was doing the same thing.

They held a meaningful stare as they wanted to say so many things, still they were hesitant. Unknowingly, their heartbeats accelerated the pace due to the other’s mesmerizing and transparent eyes. The gunner took a deep breath, pondering if he should listen to his heart now; but after know the truth about everything Tiffany done for him, his true wish was run across this room and take her in his arms, saying how he is sorry and even if he had to go down on his knees to have her forgiveness, he surely will do it. Yet, when he made his mind and was about to make his move, another voice disturbed his thoughts:

“Of course Tiffany will go with me, right Fany?”

“Oh…” Tiffany snapped from Jesse’s stare as Siwon quickly reached her hand possessively with his not so charming smirk due to his swollen nose. Jesse growled inwardly as Tiffany was stunned with Siwon’s bold move and without knowing what to do. At the same moment, princess Nana rushed to Jesse before he could do anything; then, she wrapped her arm clingy at his arm saying into a happy tone:

“And Jesse will come with me. Oh it will be so fun! Oh my goodness! I need to look at what I will wear and we must use matching costumes, Jesse!” 

The brown haired boy was hesitant, but when he saw that Tiffany was staring at him with a hurtful look, he took a deep breath and nodded his head to the princess. The latter happily dragged him out of the room while blabbering of their possible choices for their outfits. Meanwhile, Jesse walked reluctantly as he subtly turned around and still saw Tiffany staring at him intently with longing eyes. His heart ached at the sight, much more when Siwon noted their strong stare and quickly pulled Tiffany by her hand and leaving the room as well.

They parted to opposite directions, yet inside their hearts, the only thing they wanted… was to stay together, even when they refused to admit this fact. And then, there is the last pair… precisely, the danshin couple. Just while the other three pairs were excited and happy for the festival, two blondes were across each other, a few meters away. TaeYeon nibbled his lips and kept his head down while staring the floor intently, totally immersed in his thoughts. Meanwhile, Sunny was breathing heavily, still she couldn’t help to steal a glance of her love interest. However, she was stunned to see that he was doing the same thing; she almost gave in when he saw his innocent and longing eyes…

“No… it isn’t me who he wants… he wants a perfect girl… which is not me…”

Sunny sadly reminded herself knowing that it was impossible, why would TaeYeon love her back? It was time to put some sense in her head even when her stubborn and racing heart told her otherwise. Stupid heart… she cursed under breath; when she looked at him again, he opened his mouth as a sign that he wanted to talk to her. Nonetheless, she didn’t want to start another discussion and certainly, risking herself to confess her true feelings for him. Out of sudden, when she saw him about to walk to her, she shook her head sadly and walked away from the room. TaeYeon immediately stopped on his tracks with a hurt look; he looked down feeling empty and dragged himself slowly outside the room while the rest of the gang looked to each other with a worried look in their faces due to the scene.

At night…

[JESSE P.O.V]

“Don’t you have to prepare yourself? If I remember correctly, the Festival will start in 10 minutes…” Out of sudden, a familiar voice startled me while I was looking outside the castle; the decoration was so lively, it was beautiful indeed. Withal, I turned my head to the voice and smiled weakly to see a familiar and pretty woman walking to me:

“You look beautiful, Oracle err… I mean, Hyori”

She chuckled and shook her head saying into a heartily tone: “It’s good to get out of that cloaks for awhile, but you didn’t answer my question? Why aren’t you preparing yourself?”

“I am not going…” … “It’s because of her, isn’t?”

My eyes searched hers automatically once she guessed my problem; still, she looked on outside the castle with a smile on her lips:

“You don’t have to answer me, your silence was enough.”

“Then… why? Because ever since we got here this Sapphire stone is giving me more problems and nothing changed, only to get worse. So can you please… tell me what am I really doing here?”

I exhaled in frustration as I seated down back to my bed while holding this blue stone wrapped
