The Dawn Of Demigods

Another bullet train ride towards another province to reach the city of Jeonju. The quest members just occupied their boredom by eating snacks, having small chats and fell asleep most of the time during the long trip.

Wooyoung opened a bag of chips, a random thought popping into his head while he munched. “I thought Hera doesn’t have relationships with mortals. Isn’t she loyal to Zeus?”

Taecyeon slid the bookmark in between the page and closed his book shut to reply to his question. “She doesn’t,” he smiled.

“Then how did the children of Hera…”

“Hera’s sons and daughters were born from married couples who couldn’t bear a child and have been wishing for one. Hera chose to fulfill those couples’ wishes who were loyal and faithful to one another. Hence, she turns into a form of a human and bless these people with a child in secret. So that’s how Hera’s children became half-bloods.”

“Does that mean Taeyeon has both mortal parents but was conceived through Hera’s blessing?”

“Exactly. And for your info, we’re visiting the place she was born in.”

“She was born in Jeonju?”

“Yes,” Taecyeon nodded, glancing out the window. “Taeyeon was one of the few people I’ve known from the start. Usually the pioneers of the camp are chosen as the head counselors for the cabins.”

“So our team members right now, you’re close with them?”

“That’s right. They’re like a family to me, I mean like we do spend most of our time in Camp Half-Blood so we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well. Not too much on a personal level but close enough.”

“How do you think I can get close with Chansung?”

“Chansung’s a really stubborn person. He’s definitely not the nice guy type, so he’s pretty tough and sensitive. It’s not that hard to get close with him though. I still remembered how Chansung would go to me for help when he was the first child of Ares to attend camp, but then as usual time went by and his ego got the better of him. Chansung would probably accept you in his circle once you’ve proven yourself by the end of this quest.”

“Oh,” Wooyoung pursed his lips. “Thanks Taec,” he smiled.

“No problem. It’s always good to share something with new campers. But you’re my good friend now Wooyoung. I knew you were different from the beginning. I’m very pleased.”

“Not that helpful because I still caused this mess…”

“Nah, cheer up! We’ll do everything we can to save Taeyeon and everything will be back to normal.”

Taecyeon and Wooyoung continued their little chat while everyone else were sleeping soundly at their seats. They reached Jeonju city by the time it was getting late in the afternoon. They had to figure out how they would be able to get to the museum.

“Isn’t there a shuttle bus or something?” Junho asked while he stared at the map in a brochure he picked up.

“I guess we have to take two taxis.”

Off to the taxi stands they went, hopping on two cars that were already at the pick-up point. The taxi drivers dropped them off at an unloading area for public transport. Jeonju National Museum was up ahead, seeing several tourists entering the building.

“How can we find the labyrinth in here? The place is packed,” Yuri said quietly to Taecyeon.

Taecyeon checked the operating hours. “It’s closing in an hour’s time,” he eyed on the the huge wall clock. “No big deal guys, it’ll be over soon.”

Yoona and Sooyoung spotted a café, skipping over to the place quickly to get a few refreshing drinks and pastries. Junho and Wooyoung joined the girls, while Taecyeon, Nichkhun and Yuri inspected the place for clues. They searched around the area pretending to act like they were studying the art pieces, pictures and paintings. But they were looking out for something that was greek related. Nichkhun came across an object hanging on the wall that was appearing that of a shield. He stood in front of it to take a closer look, his eyes scoping a large symbol of the sun in the middle that had swirling patterns all around it. He found greek letters carved at the top edge.

“Theseus,” he read the word in a low tone. He hurried to Taecyeon’s side. “I found something.”

“You did?”

Yuri approached the guys again. “What did you find?”

“Follow me.”

Nichkhun showed the shield on the wall. “This has to be Theseus’ shield. It has his name on it.”

“But what’s it doing here though?”

“The labyrinth’s entrance has got to be behind this wall. We have to make sure we come back here after closing time.”

Soon enough the museum was closed shut by security guards, locking all the doors and gates at the entrance. The demigods hid at the washrooms, only moving forward once the lights were shut off. Everyone whipped out their flashlights and jogged towards the shield’s area. Taecyeon gave his flashlight to Nichkhun so he could remove the shield from the wall. He placed it on the ground gently, a mirror magically appearing in front of them. He read out the words stated on the mirror and a secret door opened up to the passage of the labyrinth. Burning torchlights hanging on either sides of the walls, lighting up their path.

“Is this it?” Wooyoung stepped up front to see the passage himself.

“We’ll have to find out. Okay everyone, stick close to one another as I’ll be at the back of the group while Nichkhun leads us.”

Away the squad goes into the eerie labyrinth. There were lines that came in patterns like a maze on the walls. Taecyeon glanced down at the floor which was just cemented ground. He let the thick blue thread fall on the ground so they could find their way back to the start. It was a long walk for them as they turned from left to the right endlessly. Nichkhun halted in his tracks when he noticed they’ve reached the heart of the labyrinth. But that wasn’t the problem, his eyes regarded a huge creature lying at the middle of the area fast asleep.

“Turn back!” he mouthed to the rest of the gang. They looked at him in confusion. Nichkhun squatted on the gr

And the actual thing is, this is stupid. If you actually are "immersed" in Greek Mythology, you would know that Artemis and Hera are female godesses. Yes, Hera has been a mother to Haphaestus ans other major hpds but he has never been touched by Zeu
