Bomi POV 
I walked into the class with heavy steps. The episode from yesterday still lingered inside my head. I couldn’t sleep last night. All I did was crying every time I pictured Chorong unni fragile body on the hospital bed.  Now my head was throbbing and everything looks so damn blur. I grabbed my seat, my bag was set aside and I crossed my both arms on the desk then let my head rested on it.

A girl with familiar voice called my name and I felt her arm circling around my shoulder” Bomi- ah, are you okay? Do you need anything? I’m here now for you."

I slowly lifted up my head and my eyes met hers. She placed her palms on my both cheek, cupping my face and looked at me with concerned eyes.

The exact sting inside my chest was about to burst again. “Eunji-ah, it’s hurt so much,” I said weakly.

Before Eunji could utter anything, the teacher came into the class. Eunji let go her hand off my face but then shifted to my right palm and squeezed my fingers softly. She leaned closer to me and whispered, “Please hang on Bomi-ah. We’ll talk after this.” I just nodded.

I didn’t bother of whatever happened in class. But I felt the warmth given by Eunji when she occasionally held my hand and made a couple of soothing eye contacts throughout the lessons.

It felt like forever here in class until the ticking clock finally showed at recess time. Eunji hold my wrist and said” Come, let’s go.” I followed her steps heading towards the school field to sit at our usual spot.

We settled down onto the bench. There was a short silent moment for both of us. I was deadly exhausted to speak any further speech or to be surprised by another series of crying and sobbing. Eunji seems to understand that. Nonetheless, her hand never left my fingers, secured in her clutch.
After a good 5 minutes, I finally spoke up.

“Eunji-ah, yesterday I didn’t meet Chorong unni. I didn’t have the courage to face her. With her condition, I’m not going to burden her with my unnecessary feeling. And if she doesn’t love me, perhaps I should just forget this whole thing for her own sake.” I finally spilled out my fear. Thank God I didn’t cry again this time.

“Do you ever consider the probability that she might feel something for you as well? Don’t you think she deserve a chance? Not that I say this out of pity or anything. But she has the right for loving and to be loved back. Everyone do. You do,” Eunji said softly.

 I was speechless. What if Eunji was right after all? If I give up now, it was like I was being mean to her.

She continued.” You really love Park Chorong, do you?" I quickly nodded.

“Then take this chance, not just for you but even more for her. Even she doesn’t love you as what you wish, just be there as a friend, a noble company for her. You got nothing to lose Bomi-ah if you try,” Eunji stated while smiling, sending me a sense of immense confidence.
