"Unnie, your account is so boring," Sumia complained over the phone, Soo Jung frowning at the words. She was in the dressing room, waiting for her turn for hair. Sumia had calllled during her time outside that the nurses allowed her only during the night or early morning, since her skin was too sensitive from the scars even still. It would have to be like that for at least the nest month. Sumia's normal eight-year-old buddy was recovering from a surgeryhe'd gotten a few days back, so it was just her and a nurse at the door. From what the older could tell, it was pretty lonely out there. She could only imagine what it was like to be in a hospital for months, and what she imagined wasn't quite so fun. Sumia was certainly her little soldier.
"What? Why?" She whined.
"yOU ONLY POST YOURSELF. mAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY, I dunno, something else. Maybe a selca of someone you're with? The whole band? Something you find pretty? Not just yourself," The dancer reiterated, rolling her eyes.
"Fine. I'll do a group selca and a selca with Yoonmi-ah. Is that good?"
"Yes, that's good. Now go, I can hear Insook yelling at you."
"Isn't this the only time we're performing all of The Light?" Miyoung asked Soo Jung the moment she hung up, "Thank God. That's too much singing."
"Why are you complaining? You have barely any lines," Seulki sent her a glare, "It's all Yoonmi, Maeri Unnie, and I doing the work for The Light. Then Soo Jung and I for Rum Pum Pum Pum. You're lucky. You basically only have to dance, which isn't even hard. Think about the people that actually have to work. You're not one of them."
"Um, y'know Unnie, it kinda to not have any lines. You're lucky you get so many. People think I'm here to just look pretty, I'm the useless member. But Unnies and even Yoonmi, the main rapper, have more lines than me. I'm the lead vocalist! It's good to be able to sing when you're a singer."
"Miyoung, you're not here to look pretty. We're one of the few teams where every member has a purpose. I'm sure you'll get more lines next time- Besides, look at Nu Abo ans Toy, you have plenty there. So let's all calm down and focus on our performance, yeah?" Maeri intervened quickly, putting a comforting hand on the younger's shoulder as she pulled her away to go over some ideas for their upcoming show title. As soon as Soo Jung was done with her initial styling, she headed to Yoonmi who was playing aimlessly on her phone.
"Yoonnie-ah~ Let's take a picture!"
"Why?" She asked stiffly.
"Because you're pretty and I want to show you to the world!" She declared melodramatically, and Yoonmi rolled her eyes but held her hand out, waiting for the phone, "Wait, why do you get to take it?"
"I have a steadier hand than you, Unnie," She reminded, motioning for her to turn the other way, "If you want one, hurry up."
Seconds later Soo Jung was happily uploading the selca to her SNs.
"A group picture next! Let's hold up six fingers for our six members!"
Shortly after their Inkigayo debut stage, the five girls found themselves back into the van, this time to the UouO Media building to meet with both the CEO, the manager that would be covering for Soojin while his wife had the baby and the following few months, the publicity director, a to-debut soloist, and their trainers who would, most like, tear them a new one for their performances. To say that Maeri was nervous was an understatement- It was technically a higher-up's meeting that WARdEN's and the new soloist's presence was deemed necessary for. That was never a good sign and her heart was pounding harshly against her chest. None of the other girls seemed to be upset about it, and she kept her worry to herself, hoping for things to go well. They were greeted by the CEO upon their arrival.
"It's good of you to join us. Please, sit, the others will be here in a moment," Minha motioned towards six empty seats, their manager taking the seat closest to the end of the table. Directly across from Seulki was the new soloist- Shi...Shigeki? Shi-something for sure, the vocalist had definitely seen him around and shared a brief greeting or two before. He's really cute, and I've heard Jinho talk about how talented he is. UouO could use someone like him. The kid looked something between shy yet ily confident, and Soo Jung had to admit she liked it. She looked beside her, seeing all eight trainers (UouO was admittedly a pretty small place) speaking amongst themselves. Eunju was staring at Yoonmi as she spoke to Sangchul. He took a quick look at the rapper before turning back to their conversation.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN?" sOo jUNG WHISPERED TO sEULKI, WHO SHOOK HER HEAD AND POUTED.
"iF i knew, so would you by now," The vocalist replied rudely. Soo Jung was more than used to her attitude didn't think anything of it. She looked around, more than bored as she waited. She knew they were waiting for the new manager and the creative director who had, no doubt, already chosen the name of their show despite the fact that they were given a few days. Ms. Son wasn't someone they met with often (The CEO not wanting to worry about the, well, odd person that managed their image. Instead, Soojin would bring all the info second-hand), but she was one crazily intelligent woman that was beyond easy to read. Late thirties, been dating the same guy for twelve years but haven't made anything official because he's from Japan and both of their parents are old-fashioned, it's hard for them to even be long-time friends. They recently bought a puppy together to solidify their relationship yet again- WHo wouldn't have doubts after so long? The puppy was long-haired if the sight of her clothes meant anything. It was summer and, well, dogs do indeed shed. It was obvious that Ms. Son wasn't well-liked in school since she seemed scattered but had a genius-level IQ. She lived in a studio apartment and was a maturely-beautiful woman who garned a lot of attention with her strange clothes. Overall? Ms. son was just...One of those strange, pretty women you couldn't get close to even if you tried. Soo Jung liked that about her.
When the CEO returned, the temporary manager and Ms. Son followed, both easily taking their seat. The creative director has folders filled with various papers, many of them colored. Many of them spilled as she set them down, but she paid no mind as she muttered to herself about how unfair taxes were. The new manager had a nice impression- Young, pretty, and well put together. Maeri felt she could safely put a stamp of approval already. She looked at Yoonmi who shrugged before Minha cleared . All attention was on her.
"Let's get the meeting started."
