Adventure in The Great Wide Somewhere

Once Upon A Time... (on hiatus)

Mr. Park's lips were trembling as he held onto the white rose as he stared at the hideous face in front of him. In seconds, a man stepped away from the bush—the owner of the face that startled Mr. Park.  He couldn't help but stare the man's face in horror.

The man had a face of mysteries and wonders. There were gashes and scars all over his face, none of them healed apparently since they were either red or black. There were vein-like lines all over his face as well. His brown eyes appeared tired, but at the same time at this moment those eyes of the man's were of rage.

Mr. Park couldn't be sure if this man was the owner of the mansion he had just been in. It was nearly hard to believe that couldn't be true due to the man's clothes. He wore an oversized maroon v-neck shirt that revealed just as many scars on his face on that were on his chest and neck. Along with the shirt, he wore dark blue jeans that were tattered and he also wore brown shoes along with his outfit.

Who is this man? I've never seen him before! Mr. Park thought as he continued staring at the scary looking male.

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing on my property?!" The male shouted, his rage and anger laced within his voice.

Mr. Park flinched. He was startled. He cleared his throat and responded nervously. "I-I'm s-sorry, I didn't—I was merely try-"

"How dare you to try to steal from me!" The man growled as he eyed the white rose in Mr. Park's hand.

Mr. Park glanced at the rose and understood what the man in front of him meant. He gulped and looked back at the man. "I didn't...I didn't meant to, sir! I-I was merely taking it as a gift!"

The man's eyebrows raised from Mr. Park's words. He crossed his arms and replied. "So you were stealing it for someone?"

"N-no, not...I didn't mean to, I swear! I will pay, honestly I will!" Mr. Park said nervously.

The man chuckled. "You don't want to antagonize me, you thief! I'm no regular man at all. I have sources—people who'll carry out any order I give to them. Anything I demand for them to do."

Oh my God, is he a part of the mafia?! Oh, for heaven's sake, what have I gotten myself into?! Mr. Park thought as his eyes widened in horror.

"You say this rose is a gift for someone, correct?" The man asked.

Mr. Park nodded his head rapidly. "Y-yes! I swear! Someone very dear to me!"

"Since this rose isn't for you, this punishment won't be either." The man began as he stared at the other and watched his reaction turn from fear to confusion. He continued, "You are to bring me the person who is to receive the rose, for they will take your place."

Mr. Park was confused. He couldn't comprehend to how the tables turned so quickly. Many moments ago he was trying to get somewhere when he got stuck and then found shelter from the rain at a large mansion. Moments later, he finds a garden where he easily found Leeteuk's white rose. He would've never expected to have been stopped so suddenly, especially by the owner.

If anything, he should've known to not steal.

He shouldn't have came here in the first place.

After being brought in, he should've left.

"What kind of p-punishment?" Mr. Park asked curiously. He didn't know what was going inside this man's head. Mr. Park doubted it was anything bad or ridiculous.

The man sighed deeply. "This person shall be my caretaker of my estate...for as long as I wish."

"H-h-how long would you w-wish?" Mr. Park stuttered. He could only wonder how long this man would be keeping his son in this mansion.

The man looked annoyed instantly at the question. Although he was annoyed, he still answered the older man's question in a low tone. "Forever."

Mr. Park's eyes widened larger. He couldn't believe the man. He didn't want to believe his words. He wanted to hope he had heard wrong and that his son's punishment would merely last a few months at the most. But forever?

It couldn't be!

Mr. Park found a bit of confidence in him to release the next words that he spoke. "And what if I don't carry out this cruel and irrational demand of yours?"

"You and whomever you care about will be dead. Like I said, don't anger me, for you will not win. I'll have my sources murder your beloved and yourself if you don't carry out these orders. I'll have an assistant of mine make sure you follow this order of mine." The man explained with a smirk.

Mr. Park swallowed the large lump in his throat. "Y-yes, s-sir." He looked down at the ground beneath his feet. He wished he could turn the clock so he wouldn't be in this horrible situation.

"Follow me." Mr. Park looked up to see the young man who had answered to him and took him to the dining area. "I'm Chanyeol. I'll be the one assisting you on this journey, sir." Mr. Park nodded and followed.

"Don't think about bringing any authorities into this either. My sources will do ten times worst and won't get caught." Those were the last words Mr. Park heard of the mysterious man's before leaving with Chanyeol as he dropped the rose onto the ground.

                                                      ~~~
Leeteuk had placed the strange looking doll along with its note in his bedroom. He merely went back doing his chores at home. His sister was doing something as well, but he didn't know. She might be doing her own thing or perhaps actually doing some chores. He wouldn't know because he went back outside to make sure all of the animals had their food and water before he did anything else.
As he made his way into the barn, he hadn't realize someone was making their way towards the Park's property. Leeteuk had already made sure all the animals had water and food when he was caught surprise when he felt a tap on his shoulder while he was in the horse stalls. He turned around and was surprised to see Rain standing behind him with a wide grin.
"Hello, Teukie." Rain greeted.
Leeteuk chuckled with no excitement. "Hello Rain...For the second time. Um, what brings you here?"
"Oh, I couldn't help but be bothered by your presence. You're surely one exciting person, may I say. Who could work with your face in their heads?" Rain said as he crossed his arms and leaned on one of the horse stalls.
Leeteuk plastered a fake smile and shrugged. "I-I wouldn't know, Rain. Anyways, I have to get back to my chores...Do you not have a busy schedule?"
"Nope! Therefore, making it easier for me to...Invite you to accompany me on one of my hunting missions?" Rain explained.
"I certainly can't, Rain." Leeteuk said as he walked pass the young man and started walking back to his home with his stalker following from behind.
"Oh, come on, Teukie! We could think of us finally! Wouldn't that be nice?" Rain suggested as he tried catching up with the pretty young male.
Leeteuk chuckled bitterly and turned back to face the other male. "What are you talking about, Rain? T-there's no us!"
"Oh, Teukie, you don't have to be shy with me. I've been waiting to propose to you, but I suppose I could do it now so we could get married by nightfall and have our own home in no time!" Rain declared confidently.
Leeteuk shook his head. "Rain, I have n-no words..." He went up the porch and opened his door, Rain following from behind as Leeteuk tried closing the door on him. "I-I just don't deserve you!" Leeteuk said before closing the door in Rain's face.
Me? The wife of of that boorish, brainless?! Leeteuk thought in astonishment. He looked through the peephole and sighed in relief that Rain was gone.
Leeteuk ran out of his house and made his way far from his home. He ran up a green hill and just stood as he looked at the world from above where he stood on the hill. He sighed deeply and just relaxed as he entered his peaceful part of him in his own head where he could think anything and won't be judged or criticized for his thoughts.
He stared at the world and smiled.
The world was a ton of things, like his small town he lived in with his small-minded neighbors.
The town he lived in and the people there would always be the same.
But out there in the vast world, there was more he was missing. There was more than the life he was living. Not that he didn't love his life, but his continuous routines was one he wouldn't mind changing. He would like to explore the world and see the different colors of it besides his black and white town that went by one think only.
He wanted adventure in the great wide somewhere.
He wanted more than this provincial life of his.
He had been too busy with his own thoughts that he hadn't seen the familiar car coming towards his home's way. He turned away when he heard a car beep and saw that it was his father's car. He smiled brightly that his father was back, but was confused to why his father was early. He's never been this early before. He watched his sister run out from the house and embrace their father. Leeteuk immediately noticed an unfamiliar figure exit an unfamiliar car that was behind his father's car and followed his sister and father inside. In joy, Leeteuk ran down the green hill and made his way to his house and was delighted to see his father back.
Leeteuk ran inside the house as his father turned around to face him. "Appa, you're back!" He embraced his father tightly, receiving a hug as well. He pulled away from his father in joy. "How are you here so early? We would've expected you yesterday!"
Mr. Park plastered a small smile as he replied. "I-I would've too...But things change unexpectedly, don't they?"
"I suppose so, for the best." Leeteuk said. He was excited his father was back home with them.
Mr. Park cleared his throat and features towards the unknown man in their home. "Inyoung, Leeteuk, this is Mr. Chanyeol. He's been my companion."
"Oh? Is he one of your employers or something?" Inyoung asked with crossed arms as she eyed the man with a bored facial expression.
"N-no, dear." Mr. Park answered.
Leeteuk giggled and turned towards Chanyeol, holding out his hand. "It's a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Chanyeol. Thank you for bringing our father back home safely."
Chanyeol smiled. "The pleasure is mine."
Mr. Park cleared his throat and looked at his children. "My dears, I wasn't able to head to my employers or get you gifts because...I ran into trouble."
Leeteuk's eyes widened as he looked at his father in worry. "You're okay, right appa?"
"My s-son and d-daughter...I've done something awful to cause punishment on one." Mr. Park said, his eyes becoming watery.
"What do you mean?" Inyoung asked.
"I took shelter in someone's home and I...I attempted on stealing something for someone. I d-didn't think it would hurt much! I mean...I would've never thought taking a single flower could cause so much damage..." Mr. Park explained, his daughter confused and his son worried.
"A flower?" Leeteuk asked, his eyes widened more.
Mr. Park sniffled. "This owner is a powerful man, my children. I think he has assassins on his side...Because he threatened me. He wanted me punished. He wanted whoever the flower was for...To be punished. He wants this person to spend forever with him as his caretaker of his home...If not, he will harm us all."
"I asked for no flower!" Inyoung exclaimed.
Leeteuk looked down at the ground and back at his father. "I asked for the rose, appa. No questions asked! I will do this."
Mr. Park burst into tears. "I wouldn't ask this of you, my dear son, if our lives weren't at risk. But your sister's life, your own is at stake and I won't allow him to harm my children!"
Leeteuk nodded his head in reply as tears started cascading down his own cheeks. "I understand, appa. I do. I will do this in honor to protect my family whom I love."
"We must leave as soon as possible." Chanyeol chimed in as he stared at Leeteuk with a saddened expression.
"What about my things?" Leeteuk asked.
"You will be given clothes once we get there." Chanyeol assured the young male. Leeteuk nodded his head and turned to face his father who embraced him tightly.
Mr. Park sobbed as he pulled away and stared at his son with a saddened facial expression. "My dear son, I-I'm s-so sorry! I-I-I should've..."
Leeteuk smiled sadly and placed his hands upon his father's shoulders. "Appa, it'll be okay—everything will be fine. Besides, I'm the one who asked for the rose, not you."
"We'll make sure to write to you." Mr. Park assured his son before giving him another big hug. Inyoung did so as well and bid goodbye to Leeteuk as the two males exited the Park property before entering in Chanyeol's car.
As the males entered the car, Chanyeol took out his phone and sent a text message. He was allowing his master know that Mr. Park had followed through with the plan and that they would be expecting the guest and him in a few hours. Once he was done, Chanyeol placed his phone in his pocket and started the drive with a sad smile.
                                                     ~~~

"So, will you be needing assistance from us or not, Kangin?" The handsome tanned man asked, his arms crossed. He wore a black suit and wore black sunglasses.

Kim Kangin sat at his desk in his study took a glance at the text message his dear friend sent him. He sighed deeply, but knew he had been listened to. He looked up at the male in the suit.

"No Yunho. You or neither of your crew members will be needed, thank you though." Kangin replied with a slow shake of his head. The handsome male known as "Yunho" nodded his head in reply and left his friend's side and exited the study.

I wonder how bad this guest will react when they meet me, Kangin thought in his head as he stole a glance at the table that held a glass statue, the rose's petals lying right next to the rose.
