Part Sixty-Seven
Random Acts of Love: KyuWook DrabblesSuper Camp Macau
Playing the Part
I just can’t act like I’m in a relationship with someone else onstage—not when Ryeowook is up here with me—I can when I’m in the theater, that’s different. We’re just reciting lines. Thankfully, no one at the moment is trying to break us apart onstage. Heechul and Teuk are more than happy to pair up together. And Yesung is too busy fangirling over our activities together to care if he’s being left out a bit. Besides, he still gets plenty of attention from Ryeong and me.
Ryeowook covers his face, laughing out of embarrassment, and leans against me, resting his forehead into the crook of my neck. And I keep acting stoic, because it doesn’t embarrass me to act like I’m in love with him and he pounds on my chest, probably trying to get me to stop, but I grab his hand instead and hold it a moment. It feels so natural to hold him like this, I just don’t have an excuse to do it in front of the fans very often.
Beating Your Husband: 101
The key to successfully beating your husband is two-fold. First of all, you must have a legitimate reason to do so. Now, since I’m married to Kyuhyun, I have a good reason about twice an hour. You might not have my luck. Sorry. But keep in mind, any of these is a good excuse to hit your husband: he says/does something stupid, he says/does something mean, he acts like a ten-year-old (this is one of my favorite excuses), he doesn’t do what you ask him to do, or you’re in front of a camera/stadium full of fans and you want to entertain them. The second important part about beating your husband is you should try to take him off guard. If you’re not very strong, grab something hard to hit him with. If you are strong, make it look like you’ll just tap him gently at first and then really nail him when he doesn’t expect it. If husbands worry that you could spontaneously beat them at any given time and it usually hurts, they’re much more likely to behave themselves.
Wait
“I can’t stand the thought of being away from you for so long.”
I thought Kyuhyun was sleeping. We were cuddled together on the couch, just lying around and snuggling for a stretch. We hadn’t spoken in at least a half hour. I assumed he’d fallen asleep.
“It will go by quicker once you enlist as well.”
“That isn’t for a while yet.”
“You have a very packed schedule though, so you’ll probably hardly even notice I’m gone.”
Kyuhyun laughed at this. “I will notice…and it will bother me that you’re not here.”
I smiled to myself, not because he was going to be miserable, but because he seemed so certain that he would miss me immediately.
“Promise me that you won’t find someone else while you’re gone,” he pleaded.
“We are married,” I pointed out.
“I know, but…w
