We were lying in bed when it happened. Kyuhyun was playing with his phone and I was reading a magazine. Suddenly he shrieked and fell out of bed.
“What’s going on?” I asked, panicking.
He pointed back at the bed. “Spider!” he replied, too rattled to say more.
Dangling in the air was a tiny black spider. Despite knowing I’d bruise his fragile ego, I began laughing hysterically at his reaction.
“Just kill it already,” he grumbled.
I rolled up my magazine and squashed the helpless little thing. “You can come back to bed. I killed the monster for you!”
Bottom
“People automatically think Kyuhyun’s the top because he’s taller and his voice is deeper. I’m much manlier than he is! Hell, look at some of that crap he wears: sweaters, fancy coats, and that purse he’s always carrying. I wear t-shirts, hoodies, and baseball caps. But I must be the bottom because I’m smaller!”
Kyuhyun walked out into the living room and looked around. I was sitting in the dark with my rum and coke, which is a much manlier drink than wine.
“Who the hell are you talking to?”
“Myself.”
“Well quit it and come to bed.”
“Okay.”
A Matter of Pride
Kyuhyun made the mistake of letting me drive home. I mean, he should have. He was sleepy and shouldn’t be driving when I’m wide awake, but Donghae was driving back at the same time and waved as he passed me and, I admit, I can be a little competitive.
“Leeteuk switched practice to Thursday at—”
I floored it.
“Whoa! Holy ! What happened?”
“Nothing…I’m just not letting that jackass beat me home.”
“Why does that matter?”
“It just does. A matter of pride.”
“Lovely. There goes my nap.”
I cut Donghae off and raced ahead. “You buckled in?”
Allergies
“Kyu, Hyuk and I are going to go work out. You want to come with?”
“Nah, I’m in the middle of watching this drama,” he said, sniffling.
