Random Acts of Love: KyuWook DrabblesOut of the Blue
Kyuhyun brought it up on the day our fans celebrate KyuWook Day, of all days. That’s not a real anniversary, so we weren’t actually celebrating or anything when it came up, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it being August 15th might have triggered the thought to begin with. Needless to say, I was taken off guard. It was a Saturday. I was doing some housework early in the morning before heading over to the radio station to plan out future broadcasts with my staff. No rest for me. Kyuhyun was sitting on the couch, paying some of our bills online.
As I finished the dusting, I looked over and noticed him staring at me.
“What?”
Kyuhyun exhaled a long breath. “I was just thinking…Hyuk is leaving soon. Then Donghae and Siwon will leave next.”
I nodded. “I know. It will be weird, won’t it?”
Kyuhyun looked back at his screen, but I could tell he wasn’t really looking at it. Something was on his mind. I walked over to the couch and sat down beside him. “Are you upset? Do you want to talk about it?”
“No. I mean, yes, but it’s not that,” he told me, shaking his head. He then reached over and grabbed my hand, holding onto it tight. “Ryeong…”
“Hmmm?”
“Should we get married before they leave?”
Don’t Stop Breathing
My heart was suddenly beating in double time. We’d never discussed if we were having an official wedding or if we were just going to swear to love each other the rest of our lives in private at some point and leave it at that. I had no idea what Ryeowook would feel about getting married in front of our friends. But if he was planning on doing that anytime in the next few years—and I would really rather not wait until after our enlistments were done—then we didn’t have much time left to work with.
Ryeowook looked over at me with wide eyes, surprised. We’d hardly spoken about our engagement since I’d asked him to marry me, on impulse, a few months ago. Perhaps, because I hadn’t said much about it, he hadn’t taken me very seriously. I was nervous once I’d start pressing him to set date that he’d back out of it.
