Our Story"You at cooking." Luhan heard Sehun's blunt comment from next to him. He glanced up, stopping the frantic whisking, setting the mixture on the table before turning to Sehun with his arms crossed. "You haven't even helped me at anything!" Luhan protested. Sehun gasped. "I cut the fruit!" He retorted, pointing extravagantly to the strawberries. Luhan glared. "Yeah, and I did everything else." He muttered angrily. Sehun just shook his head. "Well, it's your fault for not letting me near the food." Sehun said grumpily. Luhan sighed. "I can't trust you with the cake ingredients- you nearly put mint in the cake mixture!" Luhan complained. Sehun held up his hands. "Hey, that was Chanyeol's fault! He told me it was fake candy grass!" The boy justified.
Luhan rolled his eyes at the boy. He had no idea how someone could mistake mint for candy. Xiumin would never have done that, Luhan thought as he resumed mixing the mixture. Speaking of Xiumin, the boy seemed to be occupied with Chanyeol as they both stood over their melting chocolate. Luhan sighed, wondering why this week was going so badly. "I don't get it." Luhan said sulkily to Sehun. "What?" Sehun asked obliviously as the boy ate strawberries from the bowl. "Why did they choose our partners?" He asked the maknae. They had arrived at the cooking class in high spirits. Luhan couldn't wait to cook with Xiumin. But then, the managers had decided to pick their pairs. A horrible idea, really. Luhan hadn't wanted to complain in front of the managers and had kept his mouth shut.
Chen had been paired up with D.O. and the two boys seemed to be the stars of today's baking lesson, working together as one (lol) to produce what they had predicted to be the 'best cake in the world'. Baekhyun was with Tao and they were definitely the loudest pair, their yells and yelps heard from across the room. Lay was partnered up with Kris and the two seemed to be confused, their table a mess of chocolate and maple syrup. Chanyeol and Xiumin were paired up with each other and seemed to be the only normal ones, working together, Chanyeol for once being serious. Suho and Kai had the managers at their table as they frantically made more whipped cream (Kai had dropped the last bowl accidentally). Luhan and Sehun were so unenthusiastic about this lesson that it wasn't even funny anymore. They were half-heartedly doing everything, their minds elsewhere as they discussed video games with no actual interest in the conversation.
When they were finally done, they both took a deep breath, glancing at each other before placing it in the oven. They exhaled. "Finally." They both said in unison.

"Wow. I have to say, I'm impressed. You decorated it really well and it also tastes really good. Good job!" The cooking instructor complimented D.O. and Chen, thumping them on their backs. Chen's smug look made Luhan want to throw up. But, when he was offered some of the cake, he had to admit, it was delicious.
Luhan dreaded their turn. The fruit cake had burned a little when Sehun had gone to the bathroom and Luhan had been occupied with staring at Xiumin's when the boy had bent down to check on their cake. Xiumin really shouldn't wear such tight jeans. The burned bits had been covered with strawberries by the two panicking boys. Sehun had been surprisingly chill about it but Luhan did owe him bubble tea. Each of their cakes were told be covered up with a silver lid, to make their unraveling more dramatic. It was just nerve wracking.
So far, it looked like their's would be te worst. Only Lay and Kris were left. Luhan sent a silent prayer to every god he knew, hoping their cake would be worse than Sehun and Luhan's monstrosity. The hope was crushed as Lay took off the lid, presenting a decent cake, although it was drenched in maple syrup. The cooking constructer took a bite from the slice that Kris had solemnly cut for him. "Hmm, I knew you had some difficulties before so it's really impressive that you managed to pull it together at the end so well. But a question, why so much maple syrup?" The cooking instructer asked curiously. "I'm Canadian." Kris said simply. This seemed to confuse the instructer even more. "I thought you were Chinese. Besides, what does that even have to do with anything?" He asked, scratching his head in confusion.
"Don't bother. No one truly understands his motives." Chen advised. The cooking constructer gazed uncertaintly at Chen before shrugging his shoulders and continuing on to the last pair-Sehun and Luhan. Sehun glanced at Luhan and he looked slightly nervous. Luhan wanted to die already. He decided to just get it over with, removing the lid in one swift motion.
Their creation was displayed, a crumbling, gross mess of a cake. It was really just a bunch of separate burnt parts pushed together and held together by strawberries. The cooking instructer gazed at the creation with a slightly dazed look on his face. "What...?" He finally let out. Sehun was flushed, his head bowed down in embarrassment. "Um, we, uh... We tried." Luhan said, feeling slightly ashamed.
"You've got to be kidding me." The cooking instructer said finally, his voice filled with disbelief. Luhan winced. "Sorry." Sehun blurted out, probably not sure what else to say. "I'm sure it's not that bad." Chanyeol offered helpfully, his voice optimistic as he reached out with a fork and took a piece of the cake and put it in his mouth. Everyone turned to him, anticipating his reaction. Chanyeol began to chew on the food when suddenly his eyes widened and he choked. D.O.'s eyes widened and the boy hurriedly passed a glass of water to the tall boy, who was coughing with his mouth shut, his eyes screwed shut. He drank from the water.
Sehun and Luhan exchanged helpless looks. When Chanyeol had recovered, the boy glanced weakly at Luhan and Sehun. "It's uh, a bit burnt." He said apologetically. Baekhyun picked at the cake with his fork. "What do you mean 'a bit'? It's completely burnt." Baekhyun said bluntly. Luhan sighed once again.

Xiumin seemed to sense Luhan's bad mood, when they were in the car, going back home. "Hey, Lu-ge! Do you want to go for a coffee trip?" He asked cheerfully. Luhan glanced at him. "We can't go outside." He replied sadly. "I meant inside the SM building." Xiumin said. Luhan turned to him before leaning forward. "In front of everyone?" He whispered into Xiumin's ear. Xiumin gave a smirk before glancing mischieviously at Chen. "Well, I have a cover." He said.

"I hate you two. Why me?" Chen complained for the nth time as he sat with them at SM's coffee shop, drinking their americanos. "Tao's too loud, Kris too cold and Lay too clueless." Xiumin replied without skipping a beat. "What about someone from EXO-K?" Chen complained. "Baekhyun's too sarcastic, Suho too awkward, Kai has dance practice, Chanyeol's too talkative, D.O. is cooking and Sehun is bratty." Xiumin replied, taking a casual sip form the coffee.
"I hate my life." Chen said simply. Luhan ignored him. "Minnie, can I come over to your room for cuddles later?" He asked with a pout. Xiumin smiled. "Of course." He said patting Luhan's head. Chen glared at them in disgust. "Minnie, Sehunnie was being mean to me earlier." Luhan complained. "He called me a girl."
Xiumin smiled at Luhan endearingly. "Aww. If only he knew how manly you were in bed." Xiumin cooed. Chen made a sound which sounded like a snort and whimper combined. "I'm done with this ." The boy said before leaving, giving a peace sign over his shoulder.
When they were sure that he had left, they collapsed into giggles. "Man, he is so fun to mess with." Luhan gasped as he laughed. "Don't call me Minnie ever again." Xiumin threatened playfully. Luhan laughed harder. "Minnie, i'm so sowwy. Pwease fowgive me." He said in a baby voice before thumping the table. "As if I would do that on purpose." Luhan scoffed.
"I'm way too manly for aegyo."
