SPECIAL CHAPTER #03, PART 2
Y.T.T. / ˗ˏˋ THE FINAL STRETCH ˎˊ˗new year edition!
"So," Gummy looked at her fellow members with a cheeky smile. "How was everyone's time last night? Let me hear it."
The party had ended promptly at midnight, as couples who were already made had shared kisses and friends shared hugs. However, Gummy and Connie were only in the mood to hear how the night's of their members went, especially those they were playing matchmaker with.
Gummy looked at the one person who seemed to be the most happiest— Lya.
Lya looked at her leader with a wide smile while she hugged someone, "Isn't it obvious? My roommate came back!" Naomi looked at Lya before patting her head.
"Naomi," Lya blinked as tears fell down her cheeks. She walked up to the latter, touching her face and arms to make sure that she was real and not just her imagination. "Oh my god, you're real!"
"The last time I checked, yeah, I am," Nae.O laughed at Lya before pulling her into a hug. "I missed you, buddy."
"Unnie," All the maknae could do was cry. She hoped that this day would come; that her roommate would come back and spend even a day together. She wished and prayed and, finally... Finally she was able to hug her friend after what felt like a century apart.
"How long are you staying here," Connie asked Nae.O. She shook her head, "I'm staying here for quite some time. I was able to find a college in Seoul that would accept me and allow me to continue with my studies. I'm just be an hour or so away from here, so I'll be visiting often."
None of the other members knew that Nae.O was here besides Gummy, who planned it all when she had seen Nae.O at the grocery store that one day. It was pure luck that the two crossed paths again, and everyone was happy about it.
"Will you, by any chance, be coming back to the group," Joyce looked at the previous groupmate. Everyone had waited for her return to the group, and they all were hopeful of the fact she'd return and continue where she left off. However, Nae.O shrugged, "I'm not sure. I do wish to continue my education before doing anything else. Once I'm finished, I'll think about it and I'll let you guys know."
Everyone smiled when they heard there could be a possible chance that she would come back as a member of YTT. Connie quickly turned everyone's attention to another member, "Dani, how'd things go with Jongsuk?"
Everyone but Connie and Gummy tilted their heads, "Jongsuk? I thought you guys aren't on speaking terms after that episode of our show?"
"Just trying to make your new year worth remembering."
Dani looked at the male with squinted eyes, "What do you mean?"
Jongsuk proceeded to sit across from Dani with a cheeky smile, "What I mean is that I'm here to remind you what love is. It's a new year, why not start it off with someone?"
Dani shook her head. She wasn't sure of her feelings just yet, even if it's been over two years since they've dated, "Jongsuk, I—"
"I know why you broke up with me that day," He looked at the love of his life with the same eyes he gave her years ago. Dani heaved out a sigh before Jongsuk continued. "I know that you hate hearing the word 'love' and I know that scared you when I said it, but please allow me to be the last person to say that word to you."
She let out another heavy sigh. She was still unsure about her feelings and she even contemplated whether or not she even had any. She stood up before looking at the latter with teary eyes, "Thank you, but I'm sorry." Dani proceeded to leave the café, which caught the workers's attentions.
Jongsuk ruffled his hair before grabbing the bouquet of flowers and grabbing her wrist before she left, "Don't go. Not this time."
"Jongsuk—" Suddenly Dani felt a pair of lips against hers. Jongsuk had kissed her, and it wasn't something she was expecting. The workers suddenly fled somewhere in order to give the two privacy. Lucky for the two stars, the workers were good friends of Jongsuk, so they promised not to spill about this event.
Dani felt the same loving sensation she hadn't felt in quite some time. She gave in; She gave into him. The touch of Jongsuk's lingered on Dani's lips when they seperated. Jongsuk held Dani's arms tightly, "Please, don't."
Dani shoved him away and turned around, heading to the door. Jongsuk was saddened that she was walking out for the second time, however Dani stopped in her tracks, "That kiss. You were crushing my face."
Jongsuk let out a small chuckle while Dani just stood there, "Yeah, but I was crushing your face in a romantic way." Dani laughed before leaving Jongsuk there, however he was still confused with her feelings. Dani herself didn't know, either.
"If that plot was part of a drama, I'd watch it," Yeonyul dipped her head with a chuckle, as her members agreed with her.
"What about you, Yeongie," Gummy chuckled as the main dancer scrunched her nose when she heard a certain nickname. "Give me your new year drama."
"Zico," Yeonyul had called Zico once she had finished listening to the song he supposedly composed for her. When she was listening to every word he put into song, she completely forgot about her heartache with him. All the pain, all the bitter feelings, they all escaped when she heard his song to her.
It was about a girl who the boy fell in love with, and he did all that he could in order for her to become his. Yet, they couldn't reach out to each other in forms of money or time itself, yet they pulled through. Suddenly the boy had to leave to pursue a career as an idol, leaving the girl alone in tears. It talks about how the boy still held feelings for the said girl and hoped she felt the same way.
It was their story.
"I guess you heard it, huh," Zico let out a deep chuckle as Yeonyul dipped her head, replying with a 'yes.' Zico let out a sigh, "And?"
"And what?"
"And," Yeonyul could hear that he was laying on his bed by the sound of ruffling and moving around come from the other end of the line. "I want to know your side."
She let out a sigh, "I don't know my side, I'm sorry."
"I'll give you until our group's comeback."
"Zico—"
"I'll talk to you later."
"Yah—"
"Happy New year; g'night."
"Zico," Yeonyul heard him hangup, yet a hint of sadness was evident in his tone. She let out a sigh before putting in her headphones, listening to the song once again with uncertain feelings.
"Wow," Dani spoke aloud as the other members stayed silent. "That was just as dramatic as my story."
Yeonyul sighed with a nod, "I know, and I'm still unsure." Suddenly the dorm fell quiet after listening to two drama-filled stories. Lya, being the excited member of the group spoke, "We can talk about this uncertainty another day, and we'll help each other out. For now, how about a happy story?"
Gummy looked at Joyce, who was playing around with the usual piece of jewelry she never took off, "Joyce. I heard you got together with someone?"
"It was Zelo, wasn't it," Rie nudged Joyce with her elbow playfully, making Joyce blush a deep shade of red. Rie knew that she was right since their little tomboy usually never blushed so hard at the mention of someone's name. "Ooh, it was!"
"Oh my gosh, girl," Eight suddenly went from calm to overly dramatic really quick. "Give us the juicy de'ts."
"Zelo, were you the one who turned off the lights and scared the poop out of me," Joyce stood up when she realized whose voice that was.
"If I made you poop, then that's an accomplishment," Joyce rolled her eyes at the younger before hitting him upside the head. Zelo laughed as he rubbed the area which was actually stinging a bit from pain. For someone who looks so innocent and nice, she holds a good hit. "Fine, fine. Yes, I was the one who turned off the lights; and before you ask, yes, I was the one who played the music, but I have a reason."
"Well, I can't wait to hear your reason," Joyce watched as Zelo walked towards the speakers and put the song back to the beginning. Suddenly the members of B.A.P. came through the door with seats and all I could do was laugh at them, "What the heck? Yah—"
"Shush," Zelo suddenly got serious as he sat in his seat with the other members. He spread his arms wide and looked up towards the ceiling with a dramatic look, "It's my moment." Himchan quickly hit their maknae as the other members faced second-hand embarrassment from the words of their beloved youngster. Zelo quickly shut up before Yongguk, who was closer to Zelo's phone, pressed play.
As B.A.P. continued to perform a song that Joyce was very fond of, they gave her individual small gifts. Joyce, on the other hand, was left amazed at their abilities to sing and dance live. It was something that she admired about this group in particular. The way they can make the stage seem so full when it's just the six of them— she hoped to do the same with her group as well.
Suddenly, it was Zelo's rap and Joyce was surprised at his actions next:
"Even when time passes, (my heart) flutters whenever I look at you
Only in your arms is like a comfortable home to me
No cross piece, there's no lower flower.
I'll kiss your lips."
Once he gave out his final line, he planted a kiss on Joyce's cheek. Of course, being the person she is, Joyce just touched her cheek as the other members began to shout and scream at their maknae. They never saw Zelo as a romanticist, nor did they ever see him kiss someone they were quite close to. It was new to both B.A.P. and Joyce.
"Oh my god," Lya got up and went to hug Joyce, leaving Naomi hanging. "My fellow maknae line member, you got a boyfriend!"
"Yeah, but we'll see how long it'll last, maknae," Joyce patted her fellow maknae with a chuckle.
"Rie," Connie caught Rie's attention and all Rie did was smile. "What happened with you?"
She let out a chuckle as she just played with the bouquet of flowers Jin had given her.
"What are you—"
"What does it look like I'm doing," Jin walked towards me with the usual bright smile of his. "If you don't know, then that's a shame."
"Are you confessing," Rie had never thought that someone like him would confess. Of course, she had feelings for the eldest member of BTS, but shd never realized he did for her as well.
Jin nodded before dragging Rie to a bench that was surrounded by balloons and lanterns, "That's good that you know; makes my life a little more easier."
"What?"
Suddenly he got down on one knee, grabbing her hand into his. Jin looked up at her with wide eyes, ones that could melt away the last bit of you, "My other half of the same birthday couple, or so our fans call us. Will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"
Suddenly her mind faded away from Jin, only to think of someone else.
Jungkook.
The last person that had confessed to Rie only weeks ago.
Rie didn't know why Jungkook came to mind, but she also didn't know why it felt different at that moment. All she could remember was how Jungkook left in tears, in complete and utter pain. She felt completely bad and now it was Jin.
"Rie," Jin snapped her off her train of thought. "Earth to Rie."
"Hm? Oh," Rie suddenly slipped her hand out of Jin's, who suddenly got sad at the lack of Rie in his grasp. "Can you give me more time?"
"Of course," Jin got up and sat beside Rie before the two proceeded back to the party, where Jungkook was waiting.
"Wait, so you like Jin," Rie nodded at Eight. "But you like Jungkook, too?"
Rie let out a sigh while she stared at the ground, "I don't know."
"You'll know," Everyone looked at Gummy, who stood up with a smile. "Love is a very confusing subject, but when the time is right, you'll find out who is best for you. Just be patient and follow your heart."
After her speech, Gummy proceeded back to her room, only to open up a text message from someone dear to her heart.
From: Sanduck
I can't keep quiet anymore. I like you, and I'm sorry.
"Yeah, Gummy," She let out a sigh before falling back on her bed, her phone still in her hand. "Follow your goddamn heart."
"Eight, we didn't hear about your story," Connie had asked her roommate, who were both already in their beds. The members had ended their talk at Gummy's speech, and plus Naomi had a long way back to her apartment.
"Oh, nothing big happened," Connie was suspicious with her statement, but Eight wasn't lying. Nothing really did happen, besides JB giving her a present for her birthday.
"So, no one came up to you or anything?"
Eight looked at her fellow Chinese member, "Con, what do you mean? It was just me and JB."
Connie suddenly covered herself with her blanket. She knew something that Eight didn't, "Oh, nothing. Don't worry about it."
"Connie—"
"Eight, it's nothing."
"Okay."
"Connie, can I talk to you," Mark suddenly walked up to Connie with a saddened expression.
"Yeah, sure," Connie brought Mark to a quiet area where no one could possibly hear them, as suggested by the GOT7 member. "What is it?"
"I like Eight," Mark stared at the ground, not wanting to look at Eight's fellow member in the eye. "I've liked her longer than JB has, and I've known her for as long as I can remember, but JB beat me to it. I've wanted to tell her that I had feelings for her ever since we were trainees, but I'm slow and JB beat me to it."
"Mark, I never knew—"
"And it's completely unfair that I have to keep on hearing her call me 'brother' or 'best friend,' when I hate it with all my heart. It hurts." Mark looked at Connie with tear-filled eyes.
Connie never knew of Mark's feelings for her closest friend, but she always had a feeling it wasn't just JB who liked her.
"Connie, please help me," Mark began to wipe away his tears just in case someone walked up to them in same way or form.
"Mark, you're going to have to tell her about how you feel," Connie rested a hand on his shoulder.
"But, Connie—"
"I don't care if she's dating someone you're close to. It's worse to bottle up your emotions for someone and have to hold it with you for a million years. Don't do that. Tell her as soon as possible."
Mark let out a sigh, "Okay. Thanks."
Connie turned her body to see if Eight was awake, and to her luck, she wasn't. She let out a sigh before whispering to herself, "Mark, if you won't tell her, I will."
