Dad Would Be So Proud

“Shh, if you don’t hush they’ll hear us.”

“You hush, idiot. It’ll be your fault if we get caught.”

“No it won- Ow! You hit me!”

“Both of you should shut up, since they already know that we’re here.”

Jungkook and I turned in our seats to see Jimin with his fist frozen in the air over Hoseok’s head, Hoseok trying to push him away. Namjoon looked about ready to strangle both of them, Taehyung was in the middle of cheering on Jimin, and Jin just looked embarrassed to be seen with them. And, at the very end of the row, next to Jin was Yoongi looking like he wanted to be anywhere but there.

After Jungkook told me he liked me, I froze up on the spot. He started freaking out and apologizing for being hasty and telling me to forget what he said. I stopped him, but I couldn’t tell him I liked him back - not when I knew that I didn’t.

But, I also couldn’t just tell him I liked his hyung. That seemed cruel.

So I said nothing.

He asked me to give him a chance and I didn’t have the heart to say no.

Maybe not such a wise decision.

That’s how I ended up at the movie theatre with him, on a date, with the guys spying not-so-discretely, crowded in the row behind us.

“What are you even doing here?” Jungkook seethed, taking popcorn from the bucket and throwing it at them. A couple sitting in front of us looked back and shushed him, threatening to call security. Jimin stuck his tongue out at them, and they scoffed before turning back around.

“We couldn’t miss Kookie’s first date!” Hoseok reached over to pinch Jungkook’s cheeks, but the maknae just slapped his hand away.

“Leave.”

“Don’t be like that. We just want to make sure everything goes smoothly.”

Jungkook gave a loud snort, and the couple stood up and gave us one last glare before stalking off. I sunk down in my seat, hoping to conceal myself from everyone else watching the movie - or attempting to, anyway.

“It was going fine until you guys decided to stalk us.”

They continued arguing, which was increasingly gaining the attention of the other people in the audience, and more started to get up and leave.

“Guys, I think we-” I started but was cut off when Jungkook reached back and threw the plastic bucket at Hoseok and Jimin, the remaining pieces of popcorn spilling all over my hair, and a few falling down my shirt into a rather uncomfortable place. Hoseok yelped when the bucket hit him in the eye.

“Why do you guys always have to ruin it when something good happens to me?!” He stood up and crossed his arms over his chest, not even trying to lower his voice at that point. Jimin stood up, too, puffing his chest out to appear more authoritative, but failing since Jungkook was still taller than him, even from the row below.

From the corner of my eye I could see Jin, Namjoon, and Taehyung slowly trying to sneak away, pushing Yoongi out of his seat in the process. He fell to the ground with a grunt, which made Taehyung break out into a fit out laughter. Yoongi stuck out his foot when they tried to walk past him causing Jin to trip over it. Namjoon fell on top of him, and Taehyung, out of excitement, jumped on both of them, creating a big pi
