After Kyungsoo had awaken, he was already inform about the incident causing him to throw another sulking fit. Baekhyun felt another guilt since for the second time, he was not there to help or save his little brother and tried to soothe him by comforting him with a hug. The other guys decided to left them alone in the room as they retire to bed leaving the two in their own. 

 

After Kyungsoo calmed down a little, Baekhyun tried to offer some fresh water to help the man freshen a little and cure his sore throat. 

 

"Everything's gonna be fine, we will get Kai back I swear." Baekhyun tried to assure him.

 

"Why is it always be me? I bring bad luck to you guys. And now, Kai....Jonginnie...." He sobs.

 

"Sshhh... you guys just caught off guard and its not your entire fault because of the party. Everyone knows it." Baek replied to him.

 

"This is also the reason why I don't celebrate my birthday. Because it reminded me many things." He clasps the sheet of the bed and raised it near his face. He is now burying his head on his knees with the sheet covering his head.

 

"Don't say that! What did I ever tell you about.... " Baek tried to reason out again but Kyungsoo cuts him off.

 

"But its true. It was the day I lost my mom when I was young, my village, and also... you and Baekbeom-ssi's mo.." 

 

"I SAID ENOUGH!!!" Baekhyun raised his tone to his brother who flinched at his shout. He then realized it and pinch the bridge of his nose then put a hand over the other which stiffen at the contact.

 

"We are already done discussing about this things and I told you to stop blaming yourself over and over again. I don't want you to feel sad and guilty every time happens to the group. Besides, no one here is blaming you. I'm sorry if I yell at you." He saw Kyungsoo lift his head then look at him.

 

"Even Kai...I knew that he wouldn't want you to sulk here. He exchange himself for you and you need to trust him in his decision. I believe that Kai wouldn't also want to see you sulk there and cry. See? He also bought you something for your birthday so stop thinking that way." Baekhyun releases a long sigh that he didn't know he was keeping up to this time until he manage to silent the male.

 

"Sleep Soo. It's still dark and i'll talk to you tomorrow okay? Good night!" He kissed the others forehead before tapping his shoulders before he leaves.

 

As Kyungsoo was left alone in his room, he opened the box gift from Kai. It was neatly wrapped in blue box and white ribbon. He saw a letter inside the box with a black box below it. He decided to read what the message first before opening the box.

 

'Dear Kyungie-hyung,

 

    Happy Birthday hyung!! 

    I'm sorry I only got you this gift for your birthday. You see, I only got the chance to buy this gift right after our mission on getting the flower since you said that it was your birthday. Not that I blame you but... still.. a birthday is a birthday and I want to give you something though since you are special to me. And do you know that my birthday will be on the 14th? Just a little earlier than mine?'

 

Kyungsoo was caught off guard by the info. So he is just two days ahead from the other.

 

 

'Since Baekbeom said that you are still allergic to metals, I somehow ask him to pick this gift from some market that sells special kind of metal that he said you are alright with.

 

I know that you are kind of shy and uneasy around him but I know that he is still your hyung so try to trust him a little neh? ' 

 

 

Kyungsoo can't help but to feel a little teary since he wanted to hear and see these words comes from Kai's mouth. And how can he be sure to trust the other when he was the one who suggests the idea of the trade?

 

He opened the box and saw a cute silver necklace with a ring attached on it. He saw a thick silver ring with encarved vines going to the center. The center was round and have a small diamond on it. Kyungsoo felt happy and sad at the same time while he continue to read.

 

 

'Guess what also? I know that from the moment I saw you, I was curious and find you cute hyung. Sorry if I'm always clingy or so. But how can I help it when you are that squishy, cute and attractive? Believe me or not, I find you pretty hyung and I think the others thought that as well. Please believe more in yourself 'coz I know you are a really strong person. It also felt nice when you share your thoughts or feelings with me, I felt that you really trust me enough and I'm thankful for that.

The said male can't help but to melt towards the words written by Kai as he continued to weep for the rest of the night until he felt asleep with the gift is secured around his hands in a protective manner. He will let his answer be heard by the man who kept his promise to protect him at all times. He knew this time, it will be him to save and answer the younger who is willing to save him anytime.

Morning came yet the vampires cant sleep and also, the other members are awake as well since they need to prepare for something unexpected for the day.

"Do you want to talk?" Luhan asks Sehun. It's been a while since he was awaken and heard what he have done (not that it was on his own will of course) to the group. 

 

Just like Lay, he felt guilt washing all over him when he was easily affected by the spell and hurt his friends in the process. He is still kept silent though. 

 

"You know and I'm sure they know that you are not in your right mind that time. I'm also sure that they can understand your situation and forgive you easily Sehun." Luhan tries to cheer him up and he gets a little bit annoyed and frustrated by the poker face boy who seems to be silent for more than an hour for now. 

 

"Come on, Hunnie!!! You know I can't read your mind since my ability doesn't have an effect on that mind of yours. You better speak up or else I'll never speak to you ever again!" Luhan now gets impatient since he is like talking with the wall. 

 

No, scratch that.

 

 He thinks the wall is better than Sehun since he knew walls can't talk and Sehun does so why the heck he's still ignoring him?

 

Totally pissed, Luhan frustratedly runs a finger on his hair and pulls it exhaustedly then releases a loud groan to be muffled by the pillow as he slumps towards the bed.

 

"Ssshhhhh.... Luhan hyung!! Of course I know that Lay hyung and the others will not blame me since I'm too cute for them to resist my apologetic looks. I'm busy thinking here about something important that happened and I can't concentrate if your desperate catching my attention. Plus my head hurts like someone hit me with a large stone in the head so please stay quiet while I recall something." Sehun groans and look towards the dumbfounded male.

 

Luhan's jaw is hung low by now . And from the looks of it, he really doesn't know whether to face slap himself, or hit the man in front of him very hard. He was trying his best to not let the man down but instead, he was asked to shut up by the young man. 

 

"You....PUNK!!!!" 

 

Luhan raised his tone due to his annoyance to the other and grab Sehun by the collar and look at him in the eyes. Sehun, who widen his eyes in surprise for a sec but remained to his usual stoic facade also stare at him and smirk all of a sudden. 

 

Confused, Luhan felt nervous so he loosen the hold on Sehun since he knew that devilish smirk, no need to use his power over this. The kid is up to something and he can sense it when Sehun hold him by the shoulders and speak.

 

"Hey! Isn't that when you drink someone's blood, you can recall something about what he have done?" Sehun chirps at him.

 

"N..not a..always... it depends if we want....hell ...no!!" Luhan didn't continue when he knew what the other is trying to do and his grip tightens.

 

"Perfect!! Come on hyung, you need to help me find out something for me." Sehun tilted his head inviting the other to take a bite when he felt the older is struggling again.

 

"No!! We are not doing this again i said! And you cannot force me to!" Luhan warns him and lets out a yelp when he was force down to the mattress this time.

"How is Kyungsoo doing?" Chanyeol asks Baekhyun who just close the door from the younger's room.

 

"He's fine than last night when he woke up. He still can't believe that Kai went to the other group in exchange for him. He still blames himself for that situation. I tried to assure to him that we will get Kai back soon and he calmed down a little." Baek told Chanyeol who followed him as he head towards the kitchen.

 

"Oh. Is that so?" Chanyeol follows him and not sure what to say after a hum was replied to him. 

 

"I just cant believe that Baekbeom did that to Kai after I told him not to make my baby Soo cry and yet he did this. I hate him." Baekhyun grabs a cup and accidentally smash it into pieces when place it in the table. 

 

Good thing he wasn't injured and Chanyeol quickly grab the other's hand when he decided to grab the knife to prepare for something.

 

"I think, I can handle the cooking for Kyungsoo this time while you calm down a bit before you destroy some more things in this kitchen." He let the older settle down in the nearest chair as he prepares some breakfast for Kyungsoo. 

Not that there are no other servants but Chanyeol wants to give some food for the doe eyed male since it is very tricky and hard to let him stop sulking. 

Besides, the other servants are busy assisting to their new guests and preparing food for breakfast. Since Luhan and Sujo went somewhere yesterday, they were surprised when they saw the two vampire with Mr. Kim and Wu, together with Yongguk's group and Bambam. It seems that Bambam's group are successful in retrieving some of the councils and some of their comrades, plus the trio where Kai teleported to Lay before he got traded. 

 

There was a moment of silence before Chanyeol decided to speak again after preparing a simple dish in the frying pan, kimchi fried rice with sunny side up egg on top. 

 

"You know, I think you shouldn't hate your brother. I'm not saying he was right. But if Kai was here and Kyungsoo isn't, I guess you would be very upset and Kai too. Even worse, he or you might barge in to the enemy camp and get killed. And..I...don't wanna let you or Kai do that." Chanyeol place the plate in front of Baekhyun signalling him to eat.

 

"You know I'll do everything to protect Kyungsoo. Even if it cost my life, . I still didn't agree to his choice since I hate seeing Soo in that state." Baekhyun push the dish aside when Chanyeol grabs some fresh orange and makes an orange juice to drink to be place again in front of Baekhyun. 

 

"Even it is hard to admit, having Kai in Kyungsoo's side kinda make me feels that my brother is in good hands. The way how Kai let Kyungie at ease and makes him felt safe or the gestures that Kyungie makes, when he is with Kai brings back my memories of him before the tragedy of his tribe happens. I cannot get any kind of smile and respond from him after that incident unlike that dork." Baekhyun's eyes showed sadness but the giant remained silent.

 

"And you also tried your best in keeping your brother safe, just like what your hyung did. But when accident happens, they happens and we can never do anything to reverse it. Maybe you and him are both right or wrong in some aspects. But at the end of the day, you are brothers and there is nothing you can do about that. " Chanyeol tried to explain, or lighten up the mood but he can sense that the glare that he is receiving from the other is not that fatal so he push the dish again towards to the vampire.

 

" Just like you, Baekbeom felt the need to save Kyungsoo first since he knew that Kai can handle himself well or something like that. So you better eat and don't let Kyungsoo see that down face of yours or he might felt guilty again and cry when he see that ugly face of yours." He chuckles a bit when he saw the reaction of the other at his last word.

 

"I.am.not.UGLY!! You stupid giant!!!" Baekhyun slap Chanyeol at the side while releasing a pout earning more chuckles to a laugh.

 

"Wait? Did I just pout? Uggh..stop it before I kill you with my nails." Baekhyun has a flush on his face and hiss at the giant. Sensing that Baekhyun is annoyed, Chanyeol pulls of the laughter and raise his hands in defeat.

 

"Alright. I will stop and besides, I know that you will not kill me using your nails since I know that you love your hands more than any part of your body since someone told me so. Eat! I know you're not in the mood but you need some energy or do you want me to spoon feed you?" Chanyeol teased Baekhyun again this time.

 

"I...I... I can eat by myself!" Baekhyun stutters when he Chanyeol lift the spoon towards him when a cough was heard behind them and they stiffen.

 

"Yah! Get a room will you two love birds or I swear this house will be infected by many ants." the smirking Cheshire lips male teased them as he fake a gag followed by Xiumin.

 

"Hmmm.... I see we are all up. How's Kyungie?" The older vampire asked.

 

"A little bit okay I guess? How about Lay and Sehun?" Baekhyun asked.

 

"I think Mr. Zhang already dealt with Lay and I don't want to meddle with Luhan and Sehun since the other knows how to manhandle each other." Xiumin said to them.

 

"Oh! So I think we still need to check them afterwards since Jungkook and the other guys are still concern with them." Baekhyun releases another sigh. 

 

"Yo! Yo! Yo! Yo!! Wazzup man!!!" A loud voice was heard in the kitchen which sounded like Jackson.

 

"Hey hyungs! Mr. Kim asks us to get into the dining area with them." Bambam approach them.

 

"You guys go ahead. We'll just follow you guys after we deliver some food to D.O since it doesn't feel like will be leaving his room yet." Chanyeol replied to them as they nod and prepare to leave.

 

"Guys!!!" You need to check this out!!" Jimin said as he handle his phone to them. They were now looking at the video which Jimin downloaded a while ago which includes Siwon's smiling at the camera while he speak.

After some video clippings and the chilling background, you can see at the center is a big throne like chair. At first it was empty, but then a man with platinum hair dress in white loose clothing, and sitting with one feet over one of the arm of the chair.

 

"Come for free, 'coz the king awaits you..." 

 

"Kai!!!" They all said the same word at once. They can see Kai's eyes with red eyes as he smirk and the line went dead with some words written all over it.  

 

'Ready to scare you.

"What the heck is this?" Chen shouts at the screen. He is also sure that they all knew the answer but this still felt unsure. Kai was there, sitting in a throne with a devilish grin and not so normal appearance. 

 

"One thing is for sure. He is under the influence of Siwon. We need to prepare for the battle since it would be a massacre right on Kai's birthday." Lay said to them.

 

"We will find a way and I hope we are ready since we need much more time." Baekhyun rubs his hair messily. 

 

"If time is what you want, then I'll be glad to help you." Tao then appears to the scene with the others, Kris, Luhan and Sehun. It seems that they all have watch the video. 

 

"You guys are still not ready. Even you've gather enough force, we still need to make you stronger from your current condition." Donghae suggest.

 

"Let us deal with that." 

 

A voice from behind them said making them all turn. They saw Lay, Kyungsoo and Baekbeom standing right behind them. Although they felt awkward with Baekbeom, they are relieved to see Kyungsoo and Lay not sulking. 

 

Somehow, they feel a sudden change in their aura which they didn't know if is good or bad. 

 

"So you guys, how do we get stronger in just one day?" Kris inquires them.

 

"Simple. Just by this." Kyungsoo lift his hand and Luhan felt a surge of energy coming from within him while the hybrid let his hand go down.

 

"Hmmm? Now what?" Luhan asks.

 

"Why don't you try to use your powers now hyung!" Lay smiles at them.

 

"Okay." Luhan focused on the group. 

 

'Is he reading our mind yet?'

 

'I think it didn't work like it suppose to do.'

 

'Did it work?' 

 

He can hear the thought of the others but still, he knew that it was his one of his ability. The only difference is he can here them freely and he didn't have to access their mind at all which makes him more sensitive to hear the thoughts of the others.

 

"Well? did it work? Did it work? Did it work?" Jackson said to Luhan.

 

"I guess it did. I can hear all your thoughts bombarding me with the same question all over again in my head." Luhan pinch the bridge of his nose.

 

"Wow!! So cool!!!!" Bambam mouthed out which is probably what the others think and said.

 

'I wanna eat...'

 

 

"And Sehun, can you please stop saying that your hungry over and over again. You can eat in the dining room if you want and stop eyeing the food Chanyeol cooked for Kyungsoo." What Luhan said made them all blink and their brain start to blank. 

 

"What? I'm just thinking to eat but I will not eat the dish for Kyungsoo hyung!" Sehun groans in protest as he stop and look to Luhan. Blinking with mouth opening and closing before it went to a smirk.

 

 

Normally, Luhan have difficulty to read Sehun's mind. But this time he can read the thoughts of the other which makes him also shock since he now can read Sehun's mind. Atlast. But that smirk and thoughts of the maknae cause a chill on his spine.

 

"Oh no.... stop thinking you stupid maknae!!!" 

 

Then, they can see all object floats around them which is kind of dangerous since they were in the kitchen. Before Luhan can throw all the object towards to Sehun, Lay pats his back allowing him to calm down easily and the objects falls fast as fast as it went up.

 

"Now all you've got to do is to control and we are sure to win this one." Kyungsoo smirk they all gulp in unison. 

 

"Devil Soo mode." Baekhyun mutters.

Oh my gosh... my body is aching all over... I can't believe that team building activity will cause to much ache to my poor body. 

 

Sorry for the late update.... I 've been busy since we've got a lot of thing to do and pending jobs to do. Still having some trouble to do some added works in my job. 

 

The real battle begins after this chapter and I really love to see how it work. 

 

BTW.. the photobook which me and my cousin ordered a month ago came earlier than usual which makes me scream at my feels for Kaisoo..

. I hope I can really by some of that fan arts of my fav ship since I am always outdated with twitter....
