The place was once a beautiful place to live in for Kyungsoo. But that was before the attack ten years ago. The beautiful grassland becomes a wrecked place of nothing but sand and ash with wrecked magical stones that still continued to function. The once beautiful trees that welcomes you upon entering became dried and unhealthy. Same as the bushes that are now nothing but sticks and fallen leaves.

 

No one said a word since they have been informed about what happened to Kyungsoo's village and even they want to speak, they are not sure what it will cost to the younger since he wasn't the one who opened up what had happen and all. However, Baekbeom saw what happened during that day, not in front of his eyes, but inside the smaller since he can saw everything the others might kept while looking at someone's eyes. The thing he wished he did when D.O barge in their family and decided to judge the boy as a home wrecker. He only got the chance to look deeper to him was when they arrived the day after their abduction incident and promised Baekhyun to be kind and all to the guy.

 

They all saw the trees with doors, once gleamed with beautiful gems and elemental decorations being wrecked or burnt into pieces. Parts of tree houses are fallen apart same as some hanging ladder connecting with each other are torn off their respective places. 

 

"Wow... looked like some storm got inside this portal huh? Never thought you never hired weather forecasters...ouch!" Chen tried to say something stupid before Xiumin cuts him off. 

 

"Nah, more like ghost town if you tell me. My house is just past those big rocks." Kyungsoo jokes and points a rock with unreadable signs and they all followed him. It was quiet amusing to see the male not minding anything from his sight and made their way past the houses. But even they can see Kyungsoo's unwavering will to proceed, they can all sense the gloomy atmosphere everywhere.  

 

"Here it is. You can join me inside or stay and look around for a while since I still have to look for it, even you can't see many amusing things in here." He cheerfully said while they all just stay quiet for a while. 

 

"I'm gonna come with you." Kai broke the silence and leaves the other to take a view of their surroundings more. Clearly taking good note of the area around them. 

 

"Whooa... it's like we are in a movie of an abandoned town with lots of zombies ready to attack us." Chen finally let out what he wants to say.

 

"Yeah. It is like this when we arrived here during the incident. I really want to see this once paradise before the massacre." Xiumin also wished to see the place.

 

"Let's just stay and enjoy this place for a while." Baekbeom said as he touch the tree where D.O and Kai went. 

 

 

 

Kai found D.O on the second floor after searching fr any sign of him when he entered the messy room. He saw how Kyungsoo is slumping the floor with a book on the hand as he tried to dust away some dirt on it making him cough along the way.

 

"Hey, are you alright?" Kai pats the shoulder of the other making him look at their direction after wiping some tear from the side of his eyes caused by the coughs.

 

"Yeah. It's here, I finally found it." He raised the book and let Kai hold it for a while. He carefully closed a wooden chest near him as he stands up and dust of the dirt on his clothes.

 

"Let's go?" Kyungsoo instruct Kai to follow him before he caught his arm.

 

"Are you sure you don't want anything but this?" Kai asks him which was answered by a nod as they head down when a rumbling was heard followed by a groan.

 

"What was that?" Kyungsoo blinks in amusement.

 

"Heheh.. that was my stomach. Sorry." Kai flushed red in embarrassment. 

 

"That's okay. Let me go check the kitchen for any usable food we still have here." He said as he scans the messy slightly damages kitchen. It looks in a fair condition to be exact and decided to get some bottled jar from the drawers and some useful utensils. 

 

"I've manage to grab some useful tea and utensils. I think its better to leave here and hunt for food. Let's go." He nudges Kai and they both leave the house finding three men standing outside the house with wide eyes. 

 

"What? Is there something going on?" Kai asks.

 

"None. Did you find what we get for?" Baekbeom speaks which they nods then gestures them to get out of the wrecked place and went back to the forest again.

 

The younger manage to make them stay at a place near the lake to make something to eat while they also take some nap since Xiumin and Baekbeom really need some. Kai and Chen are busy finding something with meat as their food while Xiumin and Baekbeom helps him in preparing some stuffs and the blanket while they are in the shade of a big tree. Kyungsoo is busy making some sandwhich while the he still waits for some hot water that will be needed for the tea that he got from their kitchen with the use of some materials and things for cooking he usually have on his magical bag. 

 

After some time finishing with the fine meal of the boar which the two males brought back, they settle to have a nap first since the heat was making the two purebloods to go dizzy. They went reside near a fall with plenty trees and warm breeze when Baekbeom felt something buzzing with light on it making him to wake up as he fetch the glowing thing on his pocket which was a crystal ball. 

 

"Where the HECK ARE YOU?!?!?" He can't help but to flinch at the sudden voice that even wakes Xiumin up.

 

"What the....what? where?" Xiumin groans when he suddenly got up and felt the pain on his head so he lay again on the grass near Baekbeom.

 

"Relax bro. See? You even wake Xiumin up. What's wrong with you?" The older run his eyes in annoyance.

 

"I DON'T CARE!! Where are you? Where's Kyungie? I swear if you did something to him I'll kill you and....." 

 

"Easy there! Sorry if we disturb your sleep but, where were you guys?" Luhan suddenly appears at the sight clearly pushing off Baekhyun.

 

"We are somewhere in a forest. We are with Kyungsoo and the others if you are wondering. As if I can do something foolish with you as a pain in the neck." Baekbeom answered as Xiumin sit next to him.

 

"What?" Baek shout was heard but Luhan keep him away from the crystal ball.

 

"Oh, I see. But next time please inform us earlier since you know that your brother has a complex for D.O. And I guess you are headed for the flower right?" Luhan asks calmly.

 

"Yeah. Sorry for ditching you guys. But I want to find it personally Lu, so it was my fault since I've got Tao on this mess and plead Kyungsoo to leave. Kris was also here, so you know who else came with us." Xuimin explains.

 

"Okay. I guess you guys take care of yourselves there." Luhan sighs feeling at ease since they have Xiumin and Baekbeom as their guardians.

 

"Oy! Where's Kyungie? I want to see him." Baekhyun whines at Baekbeom. 

 

"Relax, they are just around the falls I guess since they want to bath. He is with Kris, Chen and Kai so don't worry and let me get some sleep, it's noon already." Baekbeom felt a tick developing on his right eyebrow so he felt annoyed by his younger brother.

 

"What? He is with Kai? Why did you allow that? That guy is a bad influence to my innocent Kyungsoo. You better keep an eye on him. He might taint Kyungsoo!" Baekhyun is panicking right now.

 

"Relax. You already knew that the man was his mate from the start so why did you even bother, just go your own mate since you really look like you need that. Go to that... Chanyur man or whatever his name is. Let Kyungsoo grow more. Beside he is already turning 22 tomorrow so why not let him grow?" He groans again and this time Baekhyun gasps and so does Xiumin.

 

"What? Don't tell me you guys don't know that?" Baekbeom blinks in disbelief.

 

"I...I... don't even know that fact. He doesn't even tell me that one. Damn." Baekhyun cursed. Now he even felt jelous since Baekbeom knows this first.

 

"You really did some research about him huh?" Xiumin widens his eyes in wonder.

 

"No. I just happen to see that in his memories since that was my ability by the way. So stop being a pest and let us sleep." He hissed at Baekhyun. Oh how he really love to tease the other.

 

"Whatever. If my baby comes back here harmed, you better be sorry and I'll let you taste some of my pulverizing shot. Got that?" Baek warns his brother.

 

"Whoa.. what a loving brother you are. Yeah right, i love you too." He ends up the communication before he stretch up. 

"You really do have similarities, a lot, I must say." Xiumin lays to the ground again.

 

"Yeah, I guess. We better get some more sleep since the others are still enjoying their tour so we can help them at night." He ushers the other earning a nod as they try to gain more sleep behind the shades of trees and peaceful environment.

"Yah! Kkamjong! Don't stop that!" Kris said when Kai suddenly jumps in the water making a big splash and getting Kris all wet from the side.

 

"Sorry hyung! Why don't you join us here? I still some spare clothes so don't worry about changing." Kai suggest.

 

"I do have clothes with me, it's with Chen. Besides, I don't want to expose myself in the sun. Tan is not my style." Kris scoffs as he sits near a rock beside the side of the fall. But he heard a small poof then before he knew it, he was pushed into the water with a splash.

 

"Why you!! Your really gonna get it dark kid!" Kris shouted as Kai decided to jump again near the man splattering more water on the others face with the other three laughs at them. Chen was busy swimming and playing the side of the lake while Kyungsoo is just dipping his feet on the lake while busy reading his book. Good thing that the roots of a tree nearby was touching the water giving him enough shade and let him feel the relaxing breeze and water on his feet. Besides, it not that deep since it was only 10 feet deep but for a small male like him, he wouldn't risk it.

 

"Hey D. Don't you wanna join?" Chen asks the Fae who shrug his shoulders.

 

"I'm fine here, I guess. Besides, I am recalling the story which my brother gave me. Too bad I can't read that much since the pages and ink were that damage or even faded. But still, I can recall much signs and some picture really helps me a lot. See?" He explains as he opens the book then flops it down beside him. 

 

"That's great. So do you know where we are heading next right?" Chen looks at him while leaning his elbows at the root of the tree.

 

"Yes, and it is are clearly just ahead of us." He nods as he points at the waterfalls. 

 

"Oh...you mean... we need to enter that falls?" Chen asks. 

 

"Actually, we should be flying over, instead of entering that falls but, you see I don't have wings and Fae usually have one so they find another way to cross that if there are special creatures need to cross is to get through the falls. So it's a yes." He explains again then sighs.

 

"That's great. But, why are you disappointed and down?" Chen tilted his head.

 

"Because......I can't swim! I'm..... I'm a ground fae so what is the use of swimming if I will not use it anyways. And now this?" He stands up and put his hands in the air like presenting the big falls.

 

"I'm gonna drown for sure." He slumps his shoulders.

 

"Hey, think positive! We are here and for sure, we will not let you drown." Chen assures him as he smiles when a poof was heard beside Kyungsoo making him falls out off balance and fall into the water face first.

 

"Dyo!!" Chen gasps when Kai appears at his side and he quickly fetch the fae before he sink deeper to the water as the fae struggles for his breathe. 

 

"Ack!!" The younger coughs out some water that he swallowed as Chen grabs him from behind lifting him by his waist as he hold on of his arms by on the roots of the tree.

 

"K...Kyungsoo... i'm...so sorry if I startled you." Kai hurriedly joins in the water to check on him but when he was near at him, he swat his hand away from him.

 

"D...dont! I'll drown" Kyungsoo now hugs Chen like he really is depending on the other for his life.

 

"It's okay, it's just Kai, D. Look!" He calms the boy who looks at Kai with pouty lips muttering 'sorry' as he swim a little away from them.

 

"I..it's okay. Just don't scare me like that! I don't even know how to swim." Kyungsoo looks at him slightly irritated but when Kai nods and promised the male to never do that again. He then open his hand gesturing a ride him to ride his back so Kai obeys and gladly took him while Chen swims next to them.

 

"What happened?" Kris swims next to them.

 

"Nothing!" Kyungsoo sheepishly hides at the back of Kai when the giant nears them. 

 

"Really? Aren't you gonna strip your clothes off Soo?" Kris asks the Fae who shake his head.

 

"Hey!! I'm the only one allowed to call him Soo!! Well, except Baekhyun hyung of course." Kai defends his reasons while keeping the fae safe on his back.

 

"Well....as far as I'm concern.. Baekhyun allowed me to call him Soo, so I will call him like that whenever I want too." Kris starts to splash some water on Kai making Kyungsoo flinch and Kai moves irritatedly. 

 

"Stop that!" Chen said when he felt that the fae will get another panic attack. 

 

But when Kyungsoo slip his hand accidentally away from Kai's neck, he readied himself to fall deeply into the water as he close his eyes. That is when a force tugging him out was felt and when he open his eyes, he was now sitting on the ground with wet dress and two not so happy vampire.

 

"Are you trying to kill the fae?" Baekbeom hissed in annoyance when it looks like they are wetting him more or drowning than he shouldn't be. 

 

"Don't worry. If that ever happens, I'm right here to do the CPR thingy just to save my Kyungie." Kai smirk as they look at Baebeom and Xiumin who appears in shade next to the water.

 

"Tch. No wonder Baekhyun doesn't want you near him. You surely look like a erted one." Baekbeom said while eyeing Kai who just stick his tongue out of him.

 

"Easy. He is just joking. So, are we gonna go or you just swim there like ducks?" Xiumin tried to cool the vampire down in case he wants to tackle Kai in the water as he diverts the attention to their mission.

 

"You better get change also, before you got yourself ill." Baekbeom said to Kyungsoo who just nod and get his things from the branch of the big tree and reach for the book just beside the roots. The Kai and Kris decided to get out of the water and change while Chen looks after Kyungsoo as he get his book.

 

"Funny, I left the book here just a while ago." Kyungsoo mumbles.

 

"Whats wrong?" Chen asks him.

 

"I remember to left the book here before I fell in the water." Kyungsoo search for the book, while searching as he eyes on the water.

 

"Maybe the book fell when Kai decided to surprise you." Chen widens his eyes in the realization.

 

"Maybe." He sighs as he stands up and they both went towards the others.

 

"Ready to go?" Xiumin asks when the guys are ready dresses with new pair of comfortable clothes.

 

When he receive a nod from the other, they went to the side of the lake since there is still a path made of rocks that will led inside the falls. But still a little too safe to them wet again. 

 

Once they enter the falls, they were greeted by darkness at first but layer on, there were lights all around guiding them.

 

"Are those glowing gems?" Chen touch one of the glowing things.

 

"No. Those are glow worms." Kyungsoo verifies it.  

 

"Really? Yuck!! Gross!!" Chen flinched his hand away from the soft and slimy creatures as he wipes his hand on his clothes.

 

"Hahaahaha... what an idiot." Kai laughs at Chen making him pout as he pinch Kai. 

 

"Ouch! That hurts you dino face!" Kai start to hit Chen with equal force as they play tag with the pinching that obviously turned into punching. 

 

"Stop that or I'll make a popsicle out of you two." Xiumin hissed at them.

 

"He started it!" They both exclaimed.

 

"I don't care who started it, but i'm sure I' m gonna finish it." Kris warns them making them both shut up and whines. Both knows how Kris can shut them up with words or force so they don't risk to piss him off.

 

"Hey! I said stop it. I can even hear you murmuring." Kris warns them.

 

"It's not me!" Kai raised his hands and points to Chen who earns a look from Kris.

 

"It is not me either, I swear!" He yelp.

 

"Something is moving." Kyungsoo suddenly said and they all froze in their place. 

 

"Is it big?" Baekbeom asks.

 

"No. But it looks like spying on us." He said as he grab his temple. 

 

"Are you alright?" He asks the Fae who holds the pillar of the cave. 

 

"Yeah. Just a little headache. This cave make me felt a little nauseous though, but I'm still fine." He gestures them to keep moving.

 

"Let's just leave this place fast since I don't also feel comfortable at this place." Kris said to them before they've heard scurrying close by. 

 

"Let's go!!!" They all runs at the sight of small hunchback men groups with greenish or ash colored skin with clubs and furs as their clothes which looks like angry trolls approaching them.

 

Luckily, they are quicker than the trolls and after finding the right path, they've reached the end of the cave.

 

"I never thought that trolls stills exist!" Chen huffs when they are out of the cave.

 

"Well, I do..I mean, we met you right?" Kai chuckles while teasing the older who grab his neck and playfully choke him.

 

"Stop it, you big jerks! Now, where do we need to go?" Xuimin pulls them away and get their attention to the scenery presented to them. 

 

It was clearly late afternoon so the vampires took their cloaks off as they saw luscious trees on them. There are huge plants on each side and it seems that they are below them.

 

"I need to check where we are first. Wait here." D.O said as he went to a tree and decided to let a vine assist him upward leaving them behind.

 

"Don't feel offended by my attitude Mr. Byun, but what is your deal to join us? What's the catch?" Kai suddenly asks to Baekbeom earning attention from the others.

 

"Me? Nothing. Is it bad to look after the fae since I promised my brother to watch him? Besides, I don't need to discuss things with you since it doesn't concerns you. If I were to talk, it should be with him and not with you guys." Baekbeom replies cooly pertaining the isssue between him and D.O.

 

"He is right Kai. If he wants to harm D.O, he should have done that once they are alone yesterday in their room. No need to be cautious since he was the one who offers us help from the start." Kris stated earning a shock look from them.

 

"I don't care about trust issues since I only trust my kind and not a possible enemy like you are." Baekbeom eyes Kai.

 

"Why would I be an enemy?" Kai said.  

 

"That's history, but I was told once not to trust a shadow walker once. And I know Xiumin also knows that. I don't care about what you guys will be discussing or doing but I am here just to look for the fae and any other things besides that doesn't interest me." Baekbeom clearly state what his objectives and priorities are.

 

Chen then looks at Xiumin who only gaze his eyes low to the ground. Kai, on the other hand grasp Baekbeom's shirt as he close their distance, only to he held back by Kris.

 

"That's also fine by me, but remember what you promised me since I let you come." Kai eyes him with a hint of anger. "And he has a name, not just Fae. He is Kyungsoo but call him D.O for starters." Kai can't stand the male calling his beloved fae without proper names. When he felt that his word got through the vampire who just raise him arms in defeat, he let it go until they are apart.

 

"Fine. A deal is a still a deal. Now since 'D.O' is taking his sweet time, let me fetch him for you." Baekbeom lifts from the nearby tree only to leave the men hanging their mouths agape.

 

"You freaking have the nerve to threat a noble vampire?" Xuimin was shocked.

 

"So what? I have heard that he inflicts the large wound that Kyungsoo have on his back." Kai scoffs.

 

"That was even an accident and let the man deal his own problems. He is old enough to think about his resentments." Xiumin reminds him.

 

"Yeah.... but he keeps calling him Fae which I don't like since he speaks like the enemies. By the way, what is he talking about that shadow walker thing? Is that Chen?" Kai asks them.

 

"Well, that is...." Kris starts to answer them when Xiumin flinched and told them dock.

 

They are startled by a kinds of ball that are wraps by leaves while Chen stands up and approach it. 

 

"What is thing?" Chen asks as he picks one up.

 

"Hey, don't pick it up! We might not know what it contains." Kris warns

 

Xiumin suddenly realized that they are in a forest, so when there are trolls, ogres must be nearby. But it was too late when fumes starts to appear from the balls and they starts cough loudly. They all fell to the ground as he sensed it was a paralyzing fumes and felt ogres started to gather up and pulls them away from their spot, away from the two guys that went up of the tree. Hoping they don't also fell into the trap which the ogres have as they carried them back to their hide out while muttering meal about them.

Ja-jang!!! I have uploaded it.... at last since I was busy thinking at the seminar.. have a nice vacation guys... school days are coming near.... I wonder if I can update more and fast when it comes... I hope you still wait for my next update and enjoy reading.
