"Seems I am right about my foresight." Tao said when he saw Baekbeom moving out of the manor.

 

"And that is what I am afraid of. Where's the lovebirds?" He suddenly asks when he felt something tried to break on his barrier. At first he thought that was just the effect of the alcohol but the constant pounding of his head indicates that his hunch was correct. There were intruders near the town and he must take care of it before it can threaten their peace, not only the group residing at his manor but also in his people in town.

 

"They are not there. We need to hurry.I can sense Kyuhyun and Yesung's aura nearby." It was Eunhyuk who told them.

 

"And why is that?" Baekbeom asks.

 

"Kyuhyun is a charm caster while Yesung can nullify all kinds of magic... except for that, they are a deadly combination since they have dual ability which we also didn't knew yet." Donghae butts in that makes them more cautious.

 

"That's it!! We need to head out and find the guys before they find them first. " Tao insisted fast as they head towards the door with a glimpse of Baekhyun with questioning gaze.

"Now, where are those guys? I thought they told you to wait near by this tree?" Sehun asks while they wait for their companions. Lately, Jungkook already informed them about meeting near the tree, the one which Kyungsoo used to be freed by the miasma that Siwon had used against him to sleep. 

 

"Relax.. it's only been five minutes after the text. Maybe they are just wandering around." Kai said to him. 

 

Actually he knew the that Sehun has a high tolerance to alcohol and propbably just bored so he went with them. But the idea of having Lay on their side? Probably not since he only goes when there are parties or relaxing things to be seen so he guess he just want some fresh air then. He saw Lay and Kyungsoo speaking just nearby so he decided to watch Sehun and wait for Jungkook and the guys to appear.

 

" Xiumin told me that you've been taking suppressants lately, isn't that right?" Lay speak to Kyungsoo who widens his eyes but he seems to see it coming and just give him a nod before the sigh.

 

"I....I can't help it. I might not able control my power once I use it so I decided to suppress it. I guess it does help me a lot to control it..but I felt like a burden to them. " Kyungsoo looked at the moon that shines above them. Its nearly fullmoon so it adds to the mesmerizing view in the forest. 

 

"You know what suppressants can do to you right? Why did you keep taking them." Lay put a hand on his shoulder to gather his attention again. 

 

"Because....I'm afraid of what I can do and cause some more mistake in the future because of it. Especially when it caused my mother's death. I already knew its consequences and i'm prepared for it. But now, I...don't know anymore. " He look down and shove the hand on his shoulders earning shocked reaction from the other.

 

"I'm sorry. But still, its not safe to deal with enemies in your state. Let me lift some of its effect so you can handle it perfectly." Lay was about to lift the effect when a Sehun and Kai called them near the tree.

 

"I told him not to touch the tree but he touch it." Kai whines to Lay and Kyungsoo when Sehun touches the tree. 

 

"So what? I don't feel anything weird though. Chillax man! You're freaking out of nothing!" Sehun hold his hand up feeling nothing unusual to prove them he is okay.

 

"Well... that's only natural since your mother and father is still a human with ability." Lay justified for him.

 

"Oh...is that so? Booooriing!! I thought I have super cool appearance or so." Sehun pouts and turns around to them. 

"How about you Kai? I want to see yours." Sehun then have this idea causing Kai to take the offer too to touch the tree.

 

"Whatever you are thinking of right now Kai, don't. do. it." Lay take a hold on his shoulder before Kai can go nearer to the tree.

 

"I... I'm not gonna...." Kai was stopped in his words when a figure suddenly appears on Kyungsoo and Lay's back as they all look towards the standing figure.....s... which they didn't expect to see.

 

"Well...well...well! What a pleasant evening to you guys. Especially you, which I presumed we have already met at the park, neh?" A tall man with a coat speaks up, especially looking at Sehun who flinch at the man whom he recall as the one who've attacked Chen and Xiumin before.

 

The man is with another handsome man with black hair shove in one side of his face with that evident smirk. An evident necklace and earrings with a cross sign can be seen with him. And also, a familiar cage with familiar small people with it. Jungkook, V, and J-hope.

 

"I'm s..sorry..hyung..." It was the voice of Jungkook that seems to be held captive by the two men as the other guys readied themselves for what is to happen next.

When Tao and the others sense the sudden surge and weakening of a familiar power, they headed towards the forest where they've guess that was near the tree which proves to be correct. They saw Kai and Lay was fighting with Sehun who seems to be hypnotized by the other. The two person which have the overhand in the situation simply just stood there. Kyungsoo, on the other hand is on the ground with another man that sits on his back looking somehow unconscious.

 

"I think that is enough playing Kyu... we need go." Yesung, the man with the cross necklace said to the warlock.

 

"Not yet, the fun is just starting. Look who comes to the rescue. Hello traitors!" Kyuhyun smirks and saw Eunhyuk and Donghae approaching together with Tao, Baekbeom and Baekhyun.

 

"Stop right there!!!" Yesung warns them them before they could go nearer to them. Not that he mind that though. 

 

"Relax, Yesung. Why don't we let them near their friends and have some fun with together?" Kyuhyun suggest to Yesung.

 

"Siwon said that once we get what we need, we will go back. No need for worthless fight." Yesung sighs as he grab the unconscious male from his collar and decided to carry him like a sack of potatoes.

 

"We cannot let that happen!!" Kai screamed at him but Sehun lunges forward with slashing his both hands on the air creating a wind like razor that cuts Kai. 

 

"KAAAIIII!!!" Lay who is behind Kai screamed to him.

 

Luckily, Kai have good reflex and it only cut his left shoulders sharply. The wound is not too deep but enough to see some blood dripping on it. But, since Lay was behind Kai, he took the damage which took a toll on his right arm earning a large gasp and scream in the air.

 

"Aaaccckkkkk....... gghhhh....." Lay crounched down to the ground and hold his cut arm unable explain the pain that he is experiencing. With this, Kyuhyun releases a mad laugh while Yesung just roll his eyes as the group closes towards him when the enemies doesn't bother anymore.

 

Tao then release his powers and decided to turn back the time but its like nothing has happen. Lay's arm is still cut and he is panting heavily with Kai and Donghae on his side.

 

"Stop! Your power will not work in this area since Yesung is here. He can block your powers so just concentrate on stopping the blood from coming out." Eunhyuk instructed Tao which he understood and nods while he wraps the fallen a with his paper ability.

 

He just released a small circle enveloping Lay's arm to stop the time of its bleeding while Eunhyuk releases some papers and manipulate it to act as a for the dimple guys arm. 

 

"Let's go!!!" A firm voice of Yesung was heard and when they look, the two are about to move towards the dark portal.

 

"Oh no you don't!!!!" Kai said while he pulls out his dagger towards them, only to be intercepted by the controlled. Sehun. Since Kai was swift like a thief, he quickly dodge Sehun and jump right into Kyuhyun which was a futile attempt. Having Kyuhyun to sense the murderous aura behind him, he quickly shove him with a quick kick letting Kai to fall flatly on the tree with a loud thud.

 

"Stop it!!!" Donghae lift his hand and summons some skeletons from the ground that quickly attacks the two male. Yesung, on the other hand, also lift his hand to summon another skeleton which fights the ones with Donghae.

 

"What the?" Tao hissed in annoyance when Baekbeom decided to interfere since the fight will only get long and also, they can carry D.O out anytime since they are distracted.

 

"Stop! Just stop! Why don't we settle this one in a civil way, right?" Baekbeom lift his hand in the air allowing the two to stop.

 

"What the heck do you want? You're in no position to order us around. Unless you've got a good proposal to make." Kyuhyun barks at him.

 

"In fact, I.... I have." Baekbeom hesitate at first before looking at him. "I know that the fae was just an option and all you need is the which can control the darkness. I can help you find one." He tried to persuade Kyuhyun.

 

"Don't do it Baekbeom-ssi!!!" Tao grips Baekbeom's hand in protest and look towards Kai who groans and tilts his head in confusion.

 

"Of course we need the fae! We need his blood after all." Yesung sharply said.

 

"If you need just the blood, I got some here. There is no need to involve him more, unless you want to prey him afterwards." Eunhyuk presented a small test tube that contains blood of the fae in his palm.

 

"What did you say?" The last word make Kai snap his last patience and wants to attack them. But since his special someone is at stake, he decided that he would not take the risk. Then instantly, he remembers what Tao had told him a while ago.

'Will you promise me one thing?'

 

'Whatever happens, stick to Kyungsoo... if not...Will you do everything to protect Kyungsoo-ah?'

 

' You knew I will risk my life to save Kyungie..from everyone... of course I will! '

 

'That's what I'm also afraid of.'

"See? This blood is from him so no need to think twice." Baekbeom grabs the vial and let a drop released from the ground for them to see. They saw the soil which have the blood absorbs it and after few seconds, a plant suddenly arises from it confirming the blood.

 

"Now this seems interesting." Kyuhyun smirk and decided to negotiate with them.

 

"No! I even if we we need only his blood, that doesn't mean We didn't want other things for him so let's go." Yesung turns around again but this time, Kyuhyun hold his arm.

 

"No way! We're already late in our deadline and I will not loose my chance to complete what Siwon wanted." Kyuhyun speaks to him. 

 

"Fine!" Yesung growls before piercing a glare to them. 

 

"Where is this person you're talking about? Get him here and maybe I'll consider doing the trade with you guys. Just hurry since I have no patience when it comes to potential prey." He then tilted his head lazily but a huge intent of not giving the fae back to them.

 

"He's.....here actually...." Baekbeom tried to say but Tao keeps holding him before he spill and give one of their comrades. 

 

"N..no... We don't know anyone.... you wouldn't do that!" Lay beg for Baekbeom since the others are sensing the thick atmosphere surrounding them.

 

"Come on!!! I'm losing my patience here since we are on tight schedule. Do you really know or what?"" Kyuhyun asks one more time.

 

"That's me!!!" Kai suddenly appears at the center before Baekbeom announced who he is, not that he also knew that was him.

 

**** KAI 'S POV ****

 

A groan escaped on my lips when the mad man, Kyuhyun or so, push me aside. I think I've hit my head hard since I heard someone was talking to me at my head as I snap my eyes open.

 

I blink and saw that Baekbeom was trying to negotiate with something about a dark controller. My hunch was correct when he stare at me then it all click to Tao's conversation with me. Since I want Kyungie to be safe just like I've promised, I stand up and grab the tree for support. As I held into it, it felt like something is supply me woth a new kind of energy and I teleported in between them.

 

"That's me!!" I keep my head high and throw them a glare. 

 

"Oh....I see. What can he possibly do?" The guy with the cross, speaks again as I focus on something near him. That is when Sehun moves again and releases another wind like razor. 

 

I just felt the need to protect myself or else, the others might also be affected by the wind. 

 

Just when I raised my arms quickly, a black force like shield appears that protects us from the attack. I was also in shock when I recognizes my arms are all painted with tatoo liked marks from my arms to my biceps.

 

"Whooaa.... is.. that... me?" I blink and look at the enemy who smiled as I scoff at them.

 

"Now we are certain that he is the one. But, is he willing to sacrifice himself for the fae?"Kyuhyun asks like a mockery to me so I gritted my teeth to the question. 

 

"He is. Right Kai?" i felt Baekbeom's pats my shoulder and it relaxes down. Even if it felt betrayal to my friends and Kyungsoo, I guess I have no choice about it. Not that I am against him 'coz I am also willing to do that in order to save him.

 

"That's right. So you better release my friend and Kyungsoo before I change my mind and kill you." Sounds like tough huh? I didn't know I can speak in that tone ever.

 

I can see Tao and Lay not agreeing to my decision but I paid no heed to them.

 

Sorry guys. 

 

" What makes you think we will trust you not to teleport back when you've got the fae eh?" Yesung asks this time.

 

"Why don't we trade at the same time shall we?" Baekbeom proposed.

 

"No!! Stop it please!!" Lay pleads to us but I already made up my mind.

 

"I guess that will do. Just how much will you do for this tiny fae huh? Come on. Let's meet at the center and no funny business or they will both die." 

 

Baekbeom pats me at my back guessing that is how he says sorry when I suddenly jolt up at the last pat when we are already near. Must be from the last pat since he is like digging holes at my back.

 

When Sehun, who is carrying Kyungsoo is near us with Kyuhyun on their side. I can't help but to saw his face and sleeping figure for the last time. Since I never know what will happen to me next.  

 

**** No one's POV ****

 

When Kai, Baekbeom, Sehun and Kyuhyun are already at the center, they exchange their prisoners, or their so-called-trade and decided to turn around with each other and continue to walk to the opposite part. 

 

Just when Baekbeom decided to look back, he heard Tao shouts and when he take a peek, he saw Yesung throw some huge whirlwind towards their direction allowing them to fly somewhere. Kai manage to push Kyuhyun aside and decided to look and save the others. But a chain on his neck links around him forcing him to gag and pull him towards the enemy as hr tries to teleport or something. 

 

Good thing Tao had predicted it and told Eunhyuk catches them before flying far with his rope. 

 

"Let's go!!" Yesung orders Kyuhyun as they went to the portal with a thrashing Kai on their side. 

 

"Noo!!! Le'mme go!!! Kyungsoo hyung!!!!" Kai shouts and before Donghae can grab him with his army of dead skeleton, it perishes once Yesung sense it then fade into the portal.

 

Sehun falls to the ground together with Kyungso on his side once they are place to the ground by Eunhyuk. Good thing Baekbeom and Donghae was there to catch the two unconscious man.

 

"Why??? Why did you that? How could you allow that to happen!?!?! " Lay never raised his voice this much since he felt betrayed and helpless after the incident. Grabbing Baekbeom with his uninjured arm by his collar, he looks for answer which he was only a dead look was the others reply to him.

 

"There's nothing more we can do. It already happened and there's nothing we can change. And what do you want? Let them have the D.O and let us face an angry Baekhyun with a depressed Kai?" He shove Lay's hand away from him.

 

"I'd rather have a sulking Fae than an angry shadow walker than can engulf the whole town here in his black hole." Baekbeom justifying his side decided to hold his injured arm whom Lay wince a little before Tao shove the two away.

 

"Let's go back to the house and treat your wounds Lay hyung." Tao tries to calm the fuming unicorn before he was glared by him.

 

"And you.....you..... also knew this will happen right? Why didn't you alter it?" Lay looks at him with fuel in his eyes. Ignoring the pain he is feeling in his right arm.

 

"I...... I can't!! It might alter the future or something bad might happen.. Baekbeom's choice was the best choice for this one. So please believe on what he did. It's the least I can tell you." Tao looks away before he gave something to Lay. 

 

What Lay didn't expected was the cage where Jungkook, V andbJ-hope are staying quiet on their cage muttering their sorry's at them.

 

"I guess it's about time we get back to house. Luhan hyung and Suho hyung are already back." Tao announces and their walk was slow and gloomy just like how dark and cloudy the clouds are tonight. They've got a lot of explaining to do.

"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!?!" Baekhyun screech when the group returned to the house with two unconscious people, and Lay who have lost his right arm, still under the ability of Tao bounded on his right arm.

 

"Why is your arm like that Lay?" Kris moves over to Lay who decided to check him out but the dimpled guy just brush him aside.

 

"We've got ambushed by the tree. That's what happened." Lay said in dead tone. "Go put Kyungsoo in his room with Sehun while I check on them, Eunhyuk-ssi. Thanks for the help by the way." He ignores the worried looks of the others on him and decided to focus on his two patients before he treated his own wounds.

 

"NO!! Suho, go help treat Lay first before he treats on the others. Chen, Xiumin and Chanyeol please help Eunhyuk and Donghae to move D.O and Sehun." He instruct the others while being ignored by Lay. 

 

He kinda sense what happened when they've enter the house with gloomy atmosphere. He decided to interrogate them after the guys where treated and check.

 

"What happen back there?" Baekhyun tried to calm down before he asks his brother with the other guys are looking at him with curious eyes. Tao seems to come with Lay since he is still with his influence.

 

"Tao's intuition serves to be right that Kai and Kyungsoo are in trouble. They have encountered Yesung and Kyuhyun who manage to charm spell Sehun that leads for him to attack them. When we've arrived to the scene, Kyungsoo is already at their grasp. Somehow, we manage to make a deal with them so we have Kyungsoo back." He explains to them. 

 

Sensing that something was missing in his story, they try to read between the lines when he mentions about the trade.

 

"What trade?" An unfamiliar voice was heard when they saw another man was standing near the hall. It was definitely a man with same feature as the shadow walker and Kris clearly indicating what had happened.

 

"We... trade the fae.... with the shadow walker..." He plainly said and then, just like what he'd expect, a harsh punch was thrown to his face, followed by a kick and punch again by a certain someone.

"How's your arm?" Suho asks Lay since Eunhyuk proposed that he should use the essence of the flower to bring his arm and the one which is cut together.

 

At first, Lay didn't like the idea because it somehow reminds him of how much of a failure he was back in the previous encounter. But after series of persuasion to him and using the guilt of their maknae when he saw the arm washes over him so he decided to take their suggestion. 

 

After his arm was healed, he immediately treated his companion and then contained himself in his and Suho's room. He is now lying on the bed with his left arm covering his eyes while Suho sits on the edge of the bed near him.

 

"Fine. I'd rather loose it again than to be helpless in that kind of situation." Lay was sulking and depression is evident on his face as Suho sighs.

 

"That's not true!! Don't ever say that!" Suho raised his tone when he heard the man speaking nonsense about his arm. 

 

He then grab Lay's hand and he covers it with his. Lay decided to lift the hand covering his arm and face Suho.

 

"You know that arms and hands are important in healers, that is why you should never wish that you should be fine without it." Suho rubs his thumb along Lay's hand and arms to secure the male but instead, Lay snatch it away from him. 

 

"What do you know about it anyway? It was never you that felt hopeless and nothing in the battle. How could yoy say that?" Lay looks at him with tears evidently spilling in his eyes. 

 

"You're a healer, a defense type of a person and never was a fighter. Why do you insists and wish that you should fight when you are expected to heal and support from behind?" Suho justified to him. He grabs his hand tightly and raised it a bit.

 

"These hands are made for healing, saving lives and helping your friends in need. Don't tell me I have no right to speak like that. Because just like you, I am also a healer who prepares to help and save my friends than to fight than to fight in a battle I know that my friend can win with me helping them at their side. And believe me when I say that since I have encountered many types of failure as a fighter that a healer in my years of experience. Being a healer is not bad. You just need to accept that and find ways on how you can be better. Learn from it since it was only the time you can feel the urge to be better and use it at your advantage. " He tries to look again to Lay but he turns away from him and face the window slowly after retracting his hand. Suho decided to let him be for now and decided to leave the room.

 

" Just for your info, having a healer has its own advantages in battlefield rather

than just to heal. Sleep. I'll let you rest for now. Goodnight." He closes the door with a soft click and let him be.

 

Lay was left wondering and keep thinking about what Suho had say when he hears another click indicating someone enters the room. He thought that it was the vampire but when it decided to speak, he can't help but to cry more.

 

"Xing......" A familiar voice with warmth was heard and he sits up before he turns around.

 

"Dad... I...I'm sorry... I couldn't.... protect anyone." His father came to his side when the younger male hugs for comfort and nuzzles in his chest.

 

"It's fine. You did your best so there is nothing you should be apologizing son." The man tried to hush then rubs his back until the male was tired of crying and apologizing until he felt asleep.

Hi guys!!! I'mma cut it for now... i'll paste or update the second pary on the following days .. so bear with it... well.. i'm acutally against Baekbeom's decision.. but I trust Tao's intuition... and I wish Kyungsoo could remember what Baekbeom said back in the forest. That's all!!
