Food containers left by Sunny and Krystal had been laid out on the carpeted floor of the foyer. Three pairs of eyes watched as the raven-haired female devoured the sumptuous dishes left for her consumption. Tiffany paused in her meal, noticing the eyes staring right at her.
“Something wrong?” Tiffany inquired.
The three older ones shook their heads, making the Hwang a questioning brow.
“You seem to be staring at me like I’m some specimen in the lab…”
“You’re just interesting to watch, Tiff.”
“And you need to gain some weight, Jess.”
“I’m well aware of that.”
“So,” Tiffany chewed on a barbecued beef, “When does your therapy start?”
“Which therapy?”
“The physical one.”
“Oh.” Jessica looked to the eldest, before her gaze shifted back to Tiffany. “It starts tomorrow.”
“That fast?” Sunny was surprised.
Jessica nodded, “They said, the sooner I begin my therapy, the sooner I’ll be able to walk.”
Sunny and Tiffany both nodded at the remark. The CEO then spoke, “Then, I think I’ll need to cancel Soojung’s schedules for tomorrow.”
Jessica’s eyes widened, “Why would you do that?”
Sunny turned to face the sergeant, “You’ll need her for support, Sooyeon.”
“But I – I don’t want to hinder her from working, Soonkyu. I – I don’t want to be a burden.”
“Yah, she won’t be able to concentrate once she knows you’re starting therapy. She’ll be worried for you.”
“But, she doesn’t have to.”
Tiffany interjected, matter-of-factly. “Jung Sooyeon, you should know full well that Soojung needs you more than you do. As much as Tae Tae is enough to help you go through that treatment, you’d still need Soojung there for you.”
“But Taengoo’s already there for me. The maknaes could take turns in watching over me whenever they’re free.” Jessica looked to Taeyeon who remained quiet throughout the banter. “Soojung shouldn’t worry about me. She worries too much…”
“She loves you that much, Sooyeon.” Taeyeon finally spoke, “Please, give back the love your sister gave to you. At least, give her that reassurance that you’re going to do well from now on. You don’t know how many nights she cried herself to sleep before you came to. I had to listen to her sobs for hours on the phone, waiting for her to fall asleep as I told her everything that’s
