I know everything

Protecting the lightning boy

I know everything

As Chen and Tao finished their conversation, the two of them decided it would be best to not tell the others what they had been doing and as Tao brought back time they smiled. The two had found friends in each other.

Xiumin was the first to move, looking a little lost in thought, but not noticing anything special. Luhan, on the other hand, frowned. ”Tao. You stopped time” he said accusingly and Tao swore quietly under his breath. Why couldn't he ever remember that Luhan had such an annoying power.

”I heard that” the doe looking boy said. ”Now tell us what you were doing. Or do you want me to go inside your head and find out?”

Tao shivered just from the thought of it. To anyone else it might have sounded incredulous that Luhan could go inside someone else’s mind, but Tao and the rest of EXO knew better. The first time he and Luhan had met, the two of them had clashed together, arguing about something stupid. And as punishment, Luhan broke into Tao’s mind and looked at everything that was inside. Doing that to another person was very painful for the person who received Luhan’s powers. It hurt because the person’s mind knew something was wrong and tried to push out the force, with no use, and it hurt because Luhan saw everything.

Once Luhan had broke into someone’s mind like that he knew everything about the person, and after he had done it to Tao he knew everything about him as well. And Luhan had held Tao as he cried. Tao told Chen his family was happy, and that was very much true, but Tao had other problems, problems the others would never have.

Tao controlled time, or rather, he was the guardian of it. That meant he knew time better than anyone else, and that meant pain. It was painful for Tao to constantly know what was going to happen the same time he never knew what was going to happen. The visions he got from the future always changed as someone made another decision. It was never the same. Sometimes he watched his family get murdered, and sometimes he watched himself die. The future was never set in stone, it constantly changed and showed him different things. It was tiring, and Tao had hated his gift so hard he could barely think about anything else. When he arrived at the school he hadn't gone by his own free will, and when he met Luhan, who seemed so damned sure of himself, Tao had just lost it for a moment.

He had been really jealous. Because Luhan knew exactly how to work his power, how to control it and how to use it for good. Tao didn’t, and at that moment he never believed he could. So he had attacked Luhan, but ended being brought down at once. Luhan though, had never blamed him for what happened, since he could read what was on Tao’s mind, and was more amused than anything else. That’s how the two of them had become friends. But Luhan had broken into Tao’s mind the moment he tried to attack him, and Tao would never forget that pain. The way he felt like his head was about to explode since someone else was intruding in it. He had screamed and screamed and screamed and it wasn't until Luhan was holding him in his arms, telling him to calm down since he had got out from his head he finally stopped. And there Luhan had been, slowly talking and guiding him back on his feet, apologizing for the pain he had caused him. And Tao had forgiven him, since he made the first move anyways.

Ever since Tao had admired but also feared Luhan. He knew what the by was like when he got angry, and what he could do to other people. But Luhan was also one of the people Tao liked most in the world. He looked like a baby faced kid, like he was weak and very easily scared but reality was so different. Luhan was one of the strongest people Toa had ever met, and he never got hysterical of scared like the rest. The only one other like that was Xiumin. And Luhan’s powers let him see everything, but he never used it to hurt somebody else unless he had to. But he also knew Luhan would break into his mind if he didn’t say why he stopped time.

He sighed. ”Sorry Chen. I stopped time to teach Chen some sword technique and fighting, but s it turns out he is actually a very good fighter.”

All head turned to Chen, who blushed madly.

Lay looked wide eyed at his brother. ”What?! Since when did you learn to fight?”

Chen sighed. ”Since Sungjae. I wanted to be able to protect myself. Sorry. But I really needed to! And now I’m that far behind the rest of you.”

The others were quiet for a while, but then Xiumin broke the silence. ”Well. I can’t say I’m disappointed. This’ll make things much easier. And Lay, you can’t keep his away fromt hose things forever.”

Lay looked guilty. ”I know, alright. But he’s my brother, and I want to protect him.”

Chen smiled, and went up to his brother, and hugged him. ”And that’s very sweet of you. But I’m old enough to take care of myself now, so you shouldn't worry so much. I’ll work hard to become even better, and then I can protect you too.”

Lay hugged back, and smiled a little. He knew his brother would be more safe knowing to fight, he just had to respect it ad accept it. It would take time, and he would think it was hard, but he would accept it. He couldn't really say no to his brother, anyways.

”But I gotta say” Tao said, and smiled. ”Chen is really good. He could beat you in archery Kai.”

Kai looked baffled. ”Really?! Let’s try!” He said and pulled a laughing Chen with him, with the others closely behind them. Soon enough they were all trying to beat Chen, but noticed to their surprise, that they couldn’t. Well, none could except Tao and Xiumin. Luhan never tried archers, but he sent away an arroyo which split Chen’s arrow just like Tao’s had, but Toa said that didn't count since Luhan were cheating with using his powers.

After archery they took up fighting, and started sparring against each other. It was Tao against Xiumin, Kai against D.O, Kris vs Suho, Lay vs baekhyun, Chanyeol vs Sehun and Luhan vs Chen.

As Chen looked at Luhan where he stood, he couldn't help but think that the other looked very young and fragile, and he was almost scared to hurt him. But as he started fighting Luhan, he noticed how wrong he had been.

Luhan moved with almost the same flow Toa had, he was gracious ad incredibly fast, he maybe wasn't very strong but he knew where to hit, and his hits carried a lot of power. Chen did his very best to predict where the next blow would come, but soon noticed it was impossible, and realized it was because of Luhan’s powers. He knew Chen calculated where Luhan would hit and where Chen would turn and therefore he attacked the other way. But Chen was smart, and after a long time of sparring he started to turn of his thinking, and let his body do the work. He only focused on his breathing, on his movements and on meeting Luhan’s blows with his own.

The less he thought about where Luhan would go, and just let his body react, the more blows he met, he noticed. But he didn't hit nearly enough to win. Luhan was floating around, like a butterfly, invincible, and Chen felt jealous. He wanted to be like Luhan too. He wanted to be able to fight that well and still not break a sweat, since Luhan so annoyingly didn't when Chen was sweating like he never did anything else than sweat. He wanted to be that good, but he knew it would take amazingly lot of work. He wasn't scared of that, though. He almost looked forward to it. When he looked around to see the others work hard, he felt a weird sense of pride well up in him. This was his teammates, his soon to be brothers, and he couldn't have picked better ones. Each and every single one of them were both powerful yet kind, and even though Chen had many of them left to get to know, that didn't bother him the slightest. He would try to connect to them when he felt the time for that was right.

”Hey” he heard Luhan said and had to swing hard to avoid one of his hits getting straight at his head. ”Focus on me.”

Chen smiled. ”Yeah. Sorry Luhan.”

Luhan smiled back and swung even harder at Chen, who had to fight even harder to avoid getting hit in a place he most definitely didn't want to get hit in. ”Lu ge is fine.”

Chen smiled widely, even as Luhan finally hit him in the stomach and fell to the ground. ”Lu ge.”

Luhan grinned, and stretched out his hand for Chen to take. As said boy got up, Luhan brushed of his clothes and fixed his hair, which was sticking out in all kinds if weird angles. ”Let’s go again” he then said, and stood in a fighting position. Chen nodded, and stood in a similar way.

”Three” Chen said, eyes blinking with mischief.

”Two” Luhan said and smirked.

”One” they both said in unison and attacked at the same time.

This time the fight actually was a bit more even than before. Chen was a fast learner and he had picked up on some of Luhan’s habits, like that he wasn't as strong on his left side as on his right. Perhaps it was an injury form the past or something else, but Chen wasn't going to miss out on that. So he focused his fighting on Luhan’s left side, trying hard to hide his plan from the minder’s head. But Luhan glared at him, and he knew his plan had been uncovered but he still tried. And some of the time Luhan actually couldn't avoid the hits Chen gave on his left side, and had to take some beating. Or well, at let until he had had enough.

Once Luhan deemed their fight as enough playing he started fighting for real. And then Chen didn't stand a chance. Luhan moved even faster than before, Chen couldn't even make out some of the movements. It took about thirty seconds after Luhan had decided to stop playing, and Chen was once more on the ground, breathing heavily while Luhan still wasn't very sweaty at all.

Luhan gave Chen a smile, and helped him up once again. ”Well done” he said. ”You actually had me fight seriously which doesn't happen very often at all. You should be proud. And that you noticed my left side isn't as powerful was very good. But you need to hide it better. You practically screamed it at me.”

Chen laughed sheepishly. ”Well I was trying too hard not to think about it I totally blew it. I will work on that.”

Luhan nodded. ”Well, you have done it before, the first time we met.”

Chen smiled. ”Both you and I know that only worked because you weren't prepared for it. And I didn't really hide my thought, I only his my presence.”

Luhan grinned and nodded. ”Yeah, you're right. If I knew you could hide from me I never would have let you. But it’s not a bad quality to be able to hide your presence. We could perhaps work on that.”

”We can?”

”Yeah. But not today. We have been practicing for a long time. You need rest, especially since you already fought with Toa as well, and you just recovered from your power release. So beat it. Go shower. We’ll continue this tomorrow.”

Chen looked like he wanted to object, but one look at Luhan’s face and he knew it wouldn't work, so he scampered of, defeated, and headed for his room to take a much needed shower.

Luhan smiled as he watched him leave, and then he turned to the rest of them. ”Okay” he called out. ”Xiumin and Tao and me against the rest of you. Let’s go.”

There were groans heard from everybody in the room, but no one dared to complain for real, and then they all got into position.

Chen, on the other hand had reached about half way to his dorm, when he heard a quiet laugh behind him, but as he turned there was no one there.

”Creepy” he said, but continued walking. He hadn't even gone ten steps when he heard it again, much closer this time. He turned around again, but still there was nothing there. But he could feel someone’s presence.

”Who” he gritted out ”wants something?”

He heard the laugh again, but this time there was some words as well. ”Well sorry to laugh, but you look absolutely hysterically funny. You’re hair is all wild.”

Chen frowned and tried to fix his hair, to no avail. ”Well, I am glad I can make someone feel happy at least, but it’s not fair only you are having fun. Why not come out so I can laugh at you too?”

The voice snorted. ”Fine. Behind you.”

Chen turned the other way (again) and there she was. Black hair, tall with pretty white complex, smirking. She was really pretty, Chen though, but since he was as straight as a circle he didn't really feel attracted to her. ”Hello” he said, and smiled a bit.

”Hi!” She said with a bright smile, and Chen grinned. ”Nice to meet you again” she said and smirked even more.

Chen looked at her, confused. Again? ”Again?” He asked.

She laughed. ”Oh or well, we didn't really meet but I did talk to you. Don’t you recognize my pretty voice? I am wounded.”

Chen stared. And stared. And stared some more. Her voice was quite familiar, yes, but he couldn't pinpoint exactly where it came from.

She smiled. ”Stupid boy. Let it go.

Realization hit Chen as hard as one of Luhan’s earlier hits. ”you were the one who helped me get out of my electrified state when I fainted!!”

”Bingo, a hundred points” she called out, and laughed again.

Chen couldn't help but to smile. She somehow reminded him of Sungjae. He had been a sassy one as well. ”But how did you know I needed help back there. And how do you even know who I am?”

”Well to answer your second question words travel fast, the whole school talked about how Lay’s brother would join after a long time as a none magic person. And to answer question one, simply, I know everything. What’s to come, what has already been.”

Chen looked at her, shocked. She wasn't kidding, he knew that, but how could she be so certain? Even Tao didn't know, so how did she? ”How?” he asked.

She smiled. ”That is a secret not even Luhan will find out. Let’s just say my gift allows me to know that.”

Chen looked suspicious, but he knew she wouldn't give him more than that. ”You’re gift is similar to Tao’s?”

The girl smiled again. ”Both yes and no. We have similarities, yes, but at the same time, they are not the same at all. It’s different yet the same.”

Chen sighed. ”You really like to speak in riddles, don’t you?”

The girl let out a loud laugh, clapping her hands. ”Yeah ahaha. That is very true. That’s just the way I am really. But there is a reason to my riddle some way.”

”A reason I am not about to find out?”

”No. Not yet at least.”

Chen sighed, but then he decided to accept the fact. Xiumin had just laughed talking about her, so he obviously trusted her. That meant he would as well. ”Fine. But can you at least tell me one thing? What is your name? It’s a bit annoying thinking about you as ”the-talking-voice-in-my-head”. And yeah! How did you talk in my head?”

The girl smiled. ”A part of my gifts is the fact that I travel in dreams, or rather, in people’s unconscious minds, and that way I am able to help if I know what is wrong. I can’t read minds, but like I said, I always know. Or almost always. The future is to me, also, a bit unclear at the moment. So to be clear, I didn't really talk to you mind, like Luhan does, but I visited your mind in a sense. I just chose to not let you see me. And my name? Sandra.”

”Nice to meet you Sandra. I hope I will get to know you better after a while!”

Sandra smiled, almost sadly. ”You already do” she mumbled, Chen unable to hear what she said.

”What” he asked, but she just shook her head.

”Nothing special.”

Chen looked at her, questioning, but decided to let it go. ”Okay.” He thought a bit, the silence smothering, and then he thought about something. ”Hey!” He called out, eyes shining all of a sudden. ”Is it because of you Tao has trouble seeing his visions clearly?”

Sandra blushed hard. ”Well. Not intentionally, but yes I might have something to do with that. I dont know why though.”

”And you said you knew everything.”

Sandra looked at Chen with poison in her voice. ”Well sorry.”

Chen laughed. ”No need to get pouty. I was just joking. But is is strange isn’t it?”

”Yeah. It is. I have no idea why it’s happening, and like I said, I know everything. It’s annoying me so much. I might have an idea to why it is what it is, but it’s too untested at the moment, and I can’t tell any of you yet. Sorry.

Chen nodded. ”Well, hopefully we’ll find out eventually. And if you have an idea that’s good, even though you don’t want to share it. But if Tao finds out, he will have your head. He is truly annoyed.”

Sandra looked pained. ”I know, I know. I don’t know how to tell him yet.”

”Does all of EXO know you?”

”Yeah, or well, we all have met one way or another at least.”

”I see.” Chen smiled. Whoever Sandra was, she seemed harmless enough, but that was the reason Chen didn't believe she was harmless. He had learned from the looks of Luhan and Xiumin that the most innocent looking ones could be the most dangerous ones. And no doubt, Sandra was a lot more powerful than he let on.

She could probably beat him in a fight as well.

ing fantastic.
