If Someone Believed MeJiyong sighed inwardly as he stood through the entrance ceremony. People were already gossiping about him, about how he was a trainee. Hopefully, he thought, they'd forget soon.
He slipped out of the auditorium as it begun to draw to a close and reached the class that he had been assigned to before the throng of students could fill the corridors. He closed the door behind himself and looked up, expecting to be alone. He wasn't.
Slowly, the girl sitting in the back corner of the class, near the window, tore her eyes away from the book in front of her. He just stood still, momentarily stunned. Before his brain could remind him to greet her, the door was yanked open behind him and, when he looked back at the girl, she was, once again, immersed in the paperback.
A couple of weeks passed and Jiyong had completely been accepted as another, remarkably popular, student. Despite his female following, he made friends with the boys quickly and his fame became a sort of joke between them.
The girl from the first day of school, he would learn was called Cho Jieun, became a sort of celebrity, as well. Not only was she beautiful and smart, which was proven when it was revealed she ranked first in the whole year, but she also came from a chaebol family. As the days went by, Jiyong found himself stealing glances at her more frequently and more boldly. During lunch one day, his closest friend, Lee Jonghyun, even chastised him for straight out staring. It's not like she noticed anyway, too concentrated in the books he had long ago noticed weren't written in Korean.
As fate would have it, however, they were placed together for an end of term project in art class.
"Shall we continue after school?" He asked her. They had only been given two classes and would have to finish the rest in their own time.
"But we can't go to my house." She stated before he could say anything.
He frowned, "That's alright. I was actually thinking about going to the park nearby. Seems like a good place to sketch, doesn't it?"
She shrugged, having gathered her materials, and set out towards homeroom, not bothering to wait for him.
After sitting in silence for almost an hour, Jieun put down her pad, stretching and looking around. She looked curiously at the back of her partner's sketchbook.
Jiyong glanced up, seeing her head turned towards him out of the corner of his eye. He blushed under her gaze.
