Drabble Requests - Block BOriginal Prompt: "taepyo cuddling prompt? ^-^"

A lazy day off had turned into a movie night for the seven of them, piled onto and around the couch of the dorm’s living room, eyes fixed on various screens (mostly the television, where the third movie had started, but Minhyuk, and occasionally Yukwon, kept getting distracted by their phones). Kyung had even managed to talk Jiho into taking a break from whatever he was working on in the studio to hang out with them.
While the evening had begun with a couple of comedies—which had mostly been drowned out by their conversation—for the third movie Taeil had suggested a horror flick. The others had agreed to the film, completely ignoring the loud complaints from both Jaehyo and Jihoon. The talking had almost immediately died down in the first few minutes, as the protagonists were established, going about their lives happily with no clue they were about to be thrown into a terror fest.
Jihoon, who had been the human cushion upon which Taeil had been leaning from when they first settled into the living room, was now hiding his face behind the older man, cringing even at just the light suggestion of something wrong going on around the characters. He had half a mind to escape to his bedroom, but he knew that being alone would not do him any better in the fear department. So, instead, he clung to the back and sleeve of Taeil’s hoodie, only barely peeking at the screen over his shoulder.
"ah… aaah… don’t go in there why are they going in there no…" His voice cracked as he whined, the sound muffled by Taeil’s shoulder, where his face was pressed as though the extra closeness would provide security.
The on-screen character was sneaking through the dark lake house where they had gone with their friends, having been woken up by a suspicious noise that of course could not be ignored.
He crept down a hall, the music twisting (Jihoon’s fingers gripped tighter onto the fabric of Taeil’s hoodie) and around a corner, a dull glow and rustling coming from the next room (the youngest could feel his breath stuck in his chest), approaching the doorway slowly, one foot in front of the other…
The group jump that accompanied the next quick camera shot was punctuated by simultaneous shouts from Jihoon and Jaehyo, the former flinching and quickly burying his face into Taeil’s back, tugging the shorter man closer even as the eldest laughed, the bright noise quite in contrast to the terrified hammering of Jihoon’s heart against his ribs.
"I-I’m going to go get something from the convenience store," Jaehyo was already at the door, jacket pulled around him and shoes crammed on his feet, "Anyone need anything?"
He didn’t wait for the answer before disappearing outside, fleeing the dark room for the lights of the hallway and the activity of the outside world.
Jiho’s laughter joined Taeil’s as the whole fright on the screen ended up being just a case of one of the other characters digging through the fridge. The group—with the exception of Jihoon, who kept his face hidden in Taeil’s back—relaxed slightly after that, though there was still a nervous buzz as they waited for the real trouble to start.
"Aah.. hyung…” Jihoon whispered, tugging on Taeil’s sleeve and pouting when the older man turned back to look at him, “Do we really have to watch this?”
"Why? It’s not even that scary," Taeil laughed, voice low to keep from disturbing the others who had been back into the movie.
And all Jihoon could do was twist his face into an even more desperate pout, brows furrowing and lower lip quivering pathetically, tugging again on Taeil’s sleeve and whining like a lost puppy.
He really didn’t want to watch this movie.
Taeil rolled his eyes gently, pulling his arm from the younger man’s grip—much to Jihoon’s dismay—before wrapping it around his shoulders, tugging him into his side and reaching over with his other hand to pat him on top of his head, “Calm down, it’s not that bad.”
Jihoon was going to pull away in protest, had tensed his muscles to do just that, when a second shock shot flashed on the television screen—for real, this time—and he yelped, arms flinging around Taeil’s middle and face turning to press into his sholder.
He could feel the shorter man laughing at him as he groaned weakly, but he couldn’t find it in him to feel embarrassed or annoyed about it. He refused to look back at the screen, and soon the arm around his shoulders shifted down and Taeil was rubbing comforting little circles into his back, the other hand crossing to hold his head in place.
And that’s how he continued to ‘watch’ the movie, wrapped around Taeil as tight as he could be, only briefly turning his head to glance at the screen—always at the worst times, because he would quickly find himself flinching back to the safety provided by the older man.
Jaehyo didn’t return until the movie was already past its scariest parts and was winding down to the end, and he paused only a second before excusing himself to his room, muttering all-too-cheerfully about how it was almost over anyway, good night.
When the credits started to roll, Jiho stood and stretched upwards, announcing that he couldn’t stay for another movie because he really had to get back to the studio to continue the song he was working on. Kyung followed after him, insisting that someone keep their leader company and make sure he didn’t get cabin fever or something, cooped up with the equipment for too long.
That left four of them in the living room.
"I think we have the sequel to that, too," Minhyuk, who was digging through their DVD collection, announced, "Can we watch that? I think it’s a lot scarier than the first one."
"Cool," Yukwon grinned, "I haven’t seen the second one yet, let’s watch it!"
Jihoon, who had managed to relax as the credits ran (but still hadn’t unwrapped himself from around Taeil) groaned in protest, feeling a sob build up in his throat. He couldn’t sit through another scary movie. But he didn’t want to be alone in his room, even if he kept the door opened to the living room and his light on and a cheerful movie playing on his computer.
He opened his mouth to complain, but before he could ask for a change of genre, Taeil spoke.
"I think I’m going to pass, I’m a little tired," He made a big show of yawning and stretching his arms above his head as best he could with Jihoon still very much in his space.
This, of course, only made the situation worse for the youngest—he would either be stranded on the couch watching the movie with no one to hide his face in, or he would be by himself in his room.
The next words out of Taeil’s mouth, then, had relief washing over him like a tidal wave.
"I’m a little worried it might give me nightmares, though,"—it was an obvious lie, and everyone in the room knew it, but the reason was just as obvious, and Jihoon was grateful for it—"I think I’ll watch something a little happier in my room before I go to bed, to calm my nerves. Could you keep me company, Jihoon? Just in case?"
He could only nod, awkwardly shifting backwards to let Taeil get up before he stumbled along after him, leaving the dancers to their horror movie sequel.
A short while later and Taeil had his computer set up on a chair next to his bed and had found an extremely lighthearted animated movie to put on.
Covered in warm blankets, the two of them crowded onto the small bed on their sides with Taeil resting against his back, an arm draped over his side and the the top of his head tucked under the older man’s chin, Jihoon felt infinitely more secure.
It wasn’t very far into the movie that he felt his eyes growing heavy, and he shifted backwards closer to Taeil, until he could feel the steady rise and fall of the other’s chest against his back more easily.
"Thank you, Taeil hyung,” He murmured, trying to focus his eyes back on the computer screen but feeling them slowly closing.
He could hear Taeil’s quiet laughter as he fell asleep.
