Ch. 4

Unexpected Feelings

We ordered our food and what followed was silence again. This silence is literally killing me. Jessica’s little comment was no help and made me feel embarrassed to even be here!

“This is so not going as I pictured it would’ve.” Hoya said, almost in a whisper.

“How exactly did you picture this going?” I said.

“Well honestly, I don’t even know. I just thought it would be better than this.”

Maybe I should just try and make this work but how am I going to do this? I guess getting to know him is a good start.

As our food arrived, I started out with the questions. Trying not only to make this date less awkward but also to get us to know each other a little more.

As dinner went on. I felt a little better about this whole thing. He didn’t really seem like such a bad person. Well not compared to what I thought he was going to be. I guess you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover until you’ve read the pages or heard them. I can make it through these two months.

On the way home, he dropped off Dongwoo and L. I couldn’t help but wonder why he kept asking me out before. Should I ask? Would he tell me why?

“So, Hoya? Can I ask you something?” I asked.

“Sure. Why not?” He replied.

“Why is it that you’ve been asking me out these past 3 months, even with me saying no each time?” I asked staring at him.

“I guess I had a little too much faith in myself, despite the crowd you hang out with. I should’ve given up the first couple of times and I was going to this last time. This may sound weird but something inside me kept telling me to keep trying.” He said. I could tell he was a little embarrassed with what he just said. I saw him blush a little and couldn’t help but find that too be a little cute.

Did I really just think that?

He dropped me off at home and we said our goodnight.
