Unexpected Feelings

The next day.

“What have I gotten myself into?” I asked myself as soon as I got up, remembering what I had said I was going to do.

While I was on my way to school, all I could think about was, how I am going to make it through the day and these two months. Is there a way I can get myself out of this? I ended up only sighing and gave up to the fate that awaited me.

My friends were waiting for me by the school gates as I got there.

“Here she is. Lady of the day.” Said Jinyoung. I punched him on the shoulder.

“Ugh, must you be this way this early in the morning.” I said.

“Someone woke up on the cranky bus.” Said Jessica. I couldn’t help but glare at her. It was all her fault for what’s going to happen today. Why didn’t I just keep my mouth shut?

“Whatever. Come on babe. We have to get to class before we’re late.” Jessica said as she pulled Jinyoung along with her.

Sunny and I walked together since we had first class together.

“You know I’m kind of against this whole thing. I mean, Hoya is my cousin and all and I may not like him but I can’t see him get hurt.” Sunny said.

“I know and I’m sorry. I wish I didn’t say anything at all. She just gets to me sometimes.” I said.

“Yes. I think she gets to all of us. She can be so cold sometimes. Can you promise me something though?” She said.

“Of course. You’re my best friend, there isn’t anything I wouldn’t promise you.” I said.

“Can you promise to try to get to know him and at least be nice to him even if you don’t want to? It’ll at least boost his confidence a little,” Sunny said.

“I promise. I will give it my all.” I said, giving her a hug to reassure her that I will do my best to try.

The time has arrived. All I’ve been hearing all day from my friends, is how they can’t believe that I have agreed to go along with this charade for two months. They kept throwing around jokes and I tried my best to tune them out.

“Guys! Shh here he comes.” Jessica said, quieting our group.

“Hey . I know you’re probably tired of me asking but can you please go out with me?” he said, while rubbing his neck and pushing up his glasses.

“Yes,” I said quickly.

“I promise I will make it worth your time,” He said.

“Hoya, I said yes.” I repeated.

“Wait. You just said yes? Umm ok. Give me your address and I’ll pick you up at 8.” He said with a big smile on his face as I handed him my address.

As he walked away, my friends couldn’t help but laugh at his surprised expression as I said yes to his question and about how I’m actually going to do this.

Thank gosh its Friday. I wouldn’t have to deal with them till Monday.
