Chapter 14: I Love You

Secret (Discontinued)

Taeyeon made it home. As far as she knew, there was no one following her. She went inside, there was no one home, 'what a surprise' she thought. She kept walking around. She would sit down but immediately stand up again. She felt anxious but she didn't know why. There were so many things going on at once that she wasn't sure which one was causing the anxiety.

She thought she should text Tiffany but didn't think it would be a good idea. She had told Tiffany things were going to be like they used to, but after what Baekhyun told her, she wasn't so sure anymore. The possibly of not getting better scared the crap out of her. Everything she tried always came crumbling down. Everything she loved ended up leaving her.

"I just need to calm down. I'm sure Baekhyun will figure something out." She told herself. 'What if he doesn't?' she thought. If there really was no solution to her problem then things would really be over. Her life would be over. 'If nothing works then I'll really become a stranger.' she thought to herself.

She didn't like having free time because then all she did was think. She would lose herself in her thoughts and then she would start freaking herself out. Having time to think isn't always a good thing.

Suddenly Yuri popped into her head. She could still remember the look on her face. She looked so sad. Taeyeon knew it was best if she just stayed away from her. She would never forgive herself if she did anything worse to Yuri. She still couldn't figure out what exactly were the feelings she felt towards Yuri.

Memories began to crowd her mind and before she know it a tear ran down her cheek. She remembered the worried look Yuri had when she had seen her in the wheelchair during the time she was in the hospital. Taeyeon didn't understand why Yuri cared so much. Why had she stayed by the hospital bed all those days just waiting for her to wake up? A smile grew on Taeyeon's face, then the thought of them kissing crept into her mind. It was the first time she had ever been kissed. She had to admit she felt butterflies in her stomach when it happened.

Her smile soon faded upon remembering all those times she hurt Yuri. She hated herself for not being able to stop it. Taeyeon had no control over anything she did or said. 'Could everything just be in my head?' she thought. Everyday that went by she could feel herself changing. She was starting to believe she was really crazy and that everything was just in her head.

"I'm sorry Yuri...I had to." She said to no one. Taeyeon wasn't going to keep her hopes up, she was sure Baekhyun wouldn't figure anything out. The only option left was to reveal the secret.

She went to her room and into the bathroom. She splashed some cold water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror. Then something caught her eye. It was gone.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tiffany was sitting on a bench and a smile couldn't help but grow on her face. Taeyeon still cared. She could feel the tingling in her stomach. Unfortunately that wasn't enough. This wasn't enough to forgive Taeyeon.

Tiffany didn't see that innocent girl anymore. Every time she looked into Taeyeon's eyes, it was someone else looking back at her. Physically it looked like Taeyeon, it sounded like her. Everything else was different. Her touch is cold, her eyes are lifeless, she looks lost.

"Things would be different if she would just tell me what's going on." She said out loud. All Tiffany has ever wanted from Taeyeon was the truth, that's it.

No matter how hard she tries, she can't figure out what went wrong with Taeyeon. 'Did I do something? Was it my fault?' Tiffany asked herself. She's asked these questions countless times, but can't find the answer to them.

"Taeyeon, what are you hiding?" Tiffany asked. She looked at her phone and there was a part of her that wanted to see a text from Taeyeon. Anything, even a simple hi would do. Sunny was right. Tiffany still loved her, but part of her was so afraid to get hurt again. Her heart was broken and she was sure that if Taeyeon hurt her again, this time she was sure it would shatter it completely.

She doesn't want to take that risk, that's why she's tried so hard to keep her guard up around Taeyeon. She used to be able to forgive Taeyeon and give her second chance whenever she did or said something bad. The love she had for her softened her up and she was able to forgive her, but not this time.

Taeyeon had never laid a hand on her. She'd say and do certain things that she usually wouldn't do, but never hit her. When she finally did, it opened Tiffany's eyes to the kind of person Taeyeon had turned into. She wasn't innocent anymore, she was dangerous. She wasn't sweet, she was mean. She wasn't Taeyeon, she was someone completely opposite of her.

She still loved Taeyeon. She just didn't want to admit it. Taeyeon even said things would go back to how they used to be, when they were happy. Tiffany found it really difficult to believe. She's been disappointed way to many times to believe anything Taeyeon said.

Tiffany couldn't think about Taeyeon without crying. Her heart ached. There wasn't a day that went by without thinking about her. The person she loved was the same person who gave her pain. With love comes pain. You can't have one without the other.

On the outside she makes everyone believe she doesn't care, but in reality she's broken and hurting from inside. All because of one person. It's incredible the kind of affect one person can have on someone. Unfortunately it's not always a good affect.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yuri kept writing and deleting text messages to Taeyeon. She would write something and hover her thumb over the send button but then she'd just delete it. She couldn't find the right words.

Another thing that wouldn't leave her mind was the fact that Taeyeon and her father said the same thing. 'It's for the best'. She thought she was just being paranoid but the longer she thought about it the more convinced she was. Did her father convince Taeyeon to stay away from her?

She wouldn't be surprised if he did. She knew he was willing to do anything to keep them apart. If he ever found out that Yuri wanted more than a friendship with Taeyeon, he'd have a mental breakdown. He'd make sure Yuri never saw Taeyeon again.

If she was right, then that meant Taeyeon really didn't want to end their friendship. She still had a chance. She really hoped she was right. She just had to figure out a way to earn Taeyeon's trust again. She then received a text.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taeyeon froze. She couldn't believe what she was seeing...more like what she wasn't seeing. It was gone. Nothing was there anymore. This made her wonder. Was it ever there?

She blinked a few times to make sure her vision wasn't wrong. She also ran her hand up and down her neck. The mark was gone, like it had never been there in the first place. She didn't know if this was a good thing or a bad thing.

The first thing she thought of was to tell Baekhyun. But she was afraid of what he might say. She needed to clear her head and let everything sink in. In a hurry she left her house. She thought if she got away from everything and everyone it would help.

Many thoughts began to run through her head. There was one that sounded like a good idea, at least in her head it did.

"Maybe I could just disappear for a while." She said out loud to herself. She knew it sounded crazy but it would keep her from hurting the ones she loved. Then she realized it wouldn't be that easy. Where would she get enough money? Where would she go? She was still in school and a girl her age can't be on her own.

Once again things never went her way. She had thought Baekhyun might help her. But she was sure he wouldn't quick his job and just leave everything and go. She was beginning to grow impatient. During her walk she received a text from Yuri.

[From Yuri]

We need to talk. (Received)

[To Yuri]

We did. (Sent)

[From Yuri]

I know why you ended our friendship. (Received)

[To Yuri]

I told you why. (Sent)

[From Yuri]

I mean the real reason. (Received)

[To Yuri]

What do you mean? (Sent)

[From Yuri]

Just please meet me. (Received)

Yuri asked Taeyeon to meet her in a cafe. She was hesitant at first but ended up agreeing. Yuri gave her the address. Taeyeon began to walk to the location, something didn't feel right. She couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. She thought it was just paranoia so she just brushed it off.

She arrived at the cafe and saw Yuri was already there. Taeyeon took a deep breath before approaching Yuri. Taeyeon sat down across from her. She didn't know what to say, so she waited until Yuri said something first.

"I'm glad you came." Yuri said with a tender smile.

"I wasn't going to." Taeyeon said.

"But you did so that means something."

"No it doesn't." Taeyeon knew she was being harsh but she didn't know how else to get Yuri to stay away from her.

"Yes it does. I know the real reason you said all those things. I know you didn't want to end our friendship." Yuri said.

"What are you talking about?" Taeyeon asked confused.

"You don't have to protect him anymore. I know my father told you to do it."

"What? I haven't spoken to your father since I got out of the hospital. Everything I said about ending our friendship was all me...I mean it." Taeyeon explained.

"You can tell me the truth Taeyeon." What Taeyeon was saying was not something she wanted to hear. Yuri was hoping she just didn't want to tell her the truth.

"I don't know what you want me to say. I'm telling the truth." Taeyeon said.

"You don't have to keep it a secret, I know." Yuri kept insisting.

"There is no secret. I didn't talk to your father and he didn't force me to tell you all those things. I want you to stay away from me for a reason and it's going to stay that way."

"So you meant all those things." Yuri's face was full of sadness.

"I did. I don't know where you got that idea but it's not true. I'm sorry Yuri." Taeyeon sighed before getting up to leave. Yuri followed behind her.

"Taeyeon wait." They were outside and Taeyeon turned to face her. Yuri was going to tell her something but instead did something Taeyeon wasn't expecting.

Yuri pulled Taeyeon close and kissed her. She put her hand on the back of Taeyeon's head and forced their lips together. It caught her off guard and the only thing she could think of doing was to kiss her back.

Taeyeon was afraid someone was going to see them, but it felt so right. She had to admit, she didn't want it to end. She felt butterflies in her stomach.

Yuri could feel Taeyeon kissing her back which made her think Taeyeon could have feelings for her. This made Yuri really happy. But she knew what came next would ruin all that.

"Taeyeon?" Someone called. When Taeyeon heard the voice that called out her name, she wished she could just disappear. Taeyeon immediately tried to push Yuri away but she had a strong grip. When she was finally able to get free, she turned around and her eyes went wide.

"Tiffany I-I can explain." Taeyeon stuttered.

"I knew it." Tiffany said. This was it. That's all it took to completely shatter Tiffany.

"It's n-not what it l-looks like." Taeyeon kept stuttering through her words. Tiffany began to walk away with tears running down her cheek.

Yuri didn't understand Taeyeon. A few seconds before they were kissing and she was sure Taeyeon felt the same. Then Tiffany shows up and she gives all her attention to her. She hated how she always chose Tiffany over her. Taeyeon was about to go after her.

"Taeyeon don't. She won't take you back." Yuri said.

"You knew she was there. You knew she was looking." Taeyeon said. She was furious.

"Taeyeon can't you see I care about you?"

"Just stop Yuri. I bet you called her here, this was your little plan wasn't it?" Taeyeon began raising her voice.

"How could you think I'd do something like that? I didn't call her." Yuri said in disbelief that Taeyeon was accusing her of doing something like that.

"Then how did she coincidentally end up coming to this cafe. This was a set up. I knew I shouldn't have come." Taeyeon harshly said. She then went after Tiffany.

"Taeyeon it wasn't me." Yuri tried to explain but Taeyeon had already left. She admits she kissed her because she saw Tiffany but she wasn't the one who called her to be there. Yuri guessed it was just really bad timing. Unfortunately Taeyeon didn't think that. Yuri messed up big time. "How the hell am I going to fix this?" Yuri asked herself.

"What happened?" Someone asked Yuri.

"We were wrong Jess." Yuri replied.

"So she never spoke to your father?" Jessica asked.

"No she didn't. I thought you said you were sure. You're the one who told me to do this. I screwed up big time." Yuri said. She was going to talk things out with Taeyeon anyway, but Jessica was the one who gave her this idea. She told Yuri to meet up with Taeyeon because her father might have something to do with it.

"Well the only good thing about this mistake is it made you realize she'll always choose Tiffany over you." Jessica told her. Yuri knew Jessica was right, but she didn't want to give up Taeyeon. Tiffany had full control over Taeyeon, and Yuri wished she was the one with control over Taeyeon an not Tiffany. 'Why do we want the people we can't have?' Yuri thought to herself.

Taeyeon decided to just follow Tiffany. She knew if she spoke to her right away, she wouldn't want to listen to anything Taeyeon had to say. So she waited to see if Tiffany would calm down. She quietly followed behind. She made sure Tiffany didn't see her.

Tiffany just kept walking and crying. Taeyeon wanted to comfort her, she wanted to hug her...kiss her. She wanted to feel her close. She just didn't know when it was the right time to approach her.  Tiffany finally stopped and sat on a bench. She was still crying.

Taeyeon was actually hoping she would just keep walking but when she saw Tiffany stop, she began getting really nervous. She wasn't sure how was going to explain what happened with Yuri. She slowly began to approach her. Tiffany had her gaze down. Taeyeon sat next to her, but she was still thinking of what to say.

"I'm sorry." Were the first words she could think of.

"......." Tiffany didn't say anything.

"I uh....I know-" she was interrupted.

"I...don't want...to hear it." Tiffany said through sobs.

"I know you don't, but you can't keep shutting me out." Taeyeon said.

"Shutting you out? You have no right to say that." Tiffany said looking up at her.

"It's true."

"You were the one who shut me out first. I tried so hard to stick by you and understand, but you wouldn't let me. So don't you dare stand there and act like the victim." Tiffany said. She didn't like it when Taeyeon played the victim because it seemed like she thought she was the only one hurting, when in fact Tiffany was broken inside too.

"Okay, you're right. But I'm trying to make up for it right now." Taeyeon said.

"By kissing Yuri right in front of me, again?" Tiffany said in disbelief.

"It was a misunderstanding, I didn't know you were going to be there. Plus she was the one who kissed me, both times. And both times you happened to be there." Taeyeon tried to explain.

"I'm not blind Taeyeon. It's true she kissed you, but you kissed her back. Don't try to deny it. You like her." Tiffany  finally said it.

"No I don't...I mean....I don't know." Taeyeon said not sure.

"When you told me things were going to change, for a second I almost believed you. I can't keep doing this." Tiffany had stopped crying but tears were threatning to leave her eyes again.

"I'll keep coming back, no matter what you say to me, I will keep coming back. Can't you see I'm not ready to let you go? This isn't about our frienship anymore." Taeyeon was poring her heart out to Tiffany. She was saying all the things she's wanted to say to her.

"Then what is this about? All we do is fight. You say you care, but if you really did, then you would've told me what happened the you. Why did you change so much?" Tiffany asked.

"It's complicated." Was all Taeyeon could say. She didn't understand why Tiffany would always ask this question when she knew she wouldn't get an answer.

"Was it me? Did I do something wrong?" Tiffany desperately asked. Taeyeon never really thought it was Tiffany's fault. Those kids were the ones who hurt her....then Taeyeon began to really think about it. If Tiffany would've never laughed at those kids, then none of that incident that happened that day would've occurred. Taeyeon didn't want to think about that now so she told Tiffany what she wanted to hear.

"It's not your fault. None of this has been your fault. I really want to tell you, I just can't." Taeyeon wasn't sure about the first part she said to Tiffany.

"Then answer this...what is this about? Why do you keep coming back?" Tiffany asked.

"Tiffany...I love you." Taeyeon said those three magic words and tears began falling from Tiffany's eyes. Taeyeon cupped Tiffany's face and locked their lips together. There weren't any people around so they knew no one would see them. Neither wanted the moment to end. This was a bitter sweet moment because even though they weren't on good terms, they couldn't hide their feelings for each other. But you know what they say, nothing lasts forever. And with love comes heartbreak...

Authors note:

Did Jessica plan it or was it just coincidence? How will Yuri win Taeyeon back? Will Baekhyun figure other a way to help Taeyeon?   And has Taeyeon's problem been in front of her the whole time? Will Taeyeon have to hurr the person she cares about the most? Tiffany better watch out, the secret might just unveil right in front oof her when she least expects it.

I know it's been sometime since I last updated this story, but I finally did. Unfortunately I have more bad news, well some of you might take it as bad news. Okay don't freak out but I am going to rewrite this story. So I will keep writing but I'm going to change a few things. I'll probably change the title as well.

Since I haven't finished it yet, it hasn't been decided whether it'll be YulTae or TaeNy. I just stopped the story here so I can begin rewriting it. So this is not the ending.

I just feel like this story isn't going anywhere because of the certain things I've chosen, so I thought if I changed a few things it would make the story even better. Also some of the chapters while I was reading them over didn't make a lot of sense. It will most likely have the same characters but I might add others or remove some.

So this is the last chapter of I guess you could say this version of the story. But I would love to hear the opinion of you guys. You my beautiful and loyal readers can say what you think and it may influence on what my final choice will be. I'm sorry to have to do this but I think it will turn out well.

Once again I apologize for what I'm thinking of doing. Like I said leave your opinion on what you think I should do or if I'm making the wrong or right decision. Hope to read those comments and I hope you understand. Hope you guys will stick with me in whatever decision I make. Thank you. Annyeong~

About YulTae and TaeNy... I was hopping for YulTae, I love this couple, but, I don't know anymore, this is getting confusing, and giving me headache.. Especially because Taeyeon is hurting both of them, so, YulTae or TaeNy whatever... I think Yuri should just go, I don't know... I'm starting to think that both of them should reject Taeyeon... Oh well, I'll wait to see what happens...
