What's love got to do with it
Hello StrangerHe hadn’t known what to expect but surely the reaction couldn’t be any less underwhelming than three incredulous stares - and one loud snigger, courtesy of Jiyoung.
After the current madness surrounding GDragon’s latest album release during the day, the bright lights and booming music of their usual night scene proved too much. So that night the gang had convened in the sanctuary that was the singer’s penthouse apartment. Outside the clubs, the five men lived it up in a different but equally extravagant manner. A private chef had prepared an eight-course dinner paired with the best wine money could buy in Seoul and the spread was served in the balcony, high up in the sky.
Somewhere between courses, Seunghyun had let drop about his recent resolution to be a one-woman man.
“You are mad.” His superstar best friend punctuated the statement with another snigger, not taking what he said to heart.
Plonking down his wine glass, Daesung exclaimed, “Who are you and what have you done with Choi Seunghyun?” This man was the best composer that Jiyoung had met - any tune he touched became gold. It took more than a month and a truck load of whiskey to convince him to join GD&Top. Not only was Daesung worth every penny - every song he wrote made it into the top 10 charts - the songwriter had crazy sense of humour and quickly infiltrated into the gang.
On the other side of the table, Youngbae was visibly excited. Forever the romantic, the R&B singer was approving, “I can’t believe you came round to the idea! This is great.” Like the rest of the men in the room, he wasn’t beyond flirting with the groupies that threw themselves on him. The difference? The harmless flirting never amounted to anything because he was fiercely loyal to his long-time girlfriend
“He’s just gone temporarily round the bend,” commented the youngest, their maknae. “What have you been smoking?”
Seunghyun had never met a better hustler than Lee Seunghyun. He could sweettalk a granny’s life savings if he put his mind to it. Before solely dedicating his career to GDragon, the younger Seunghyun managed a stable of artists and juggled his charges, media and company perfectly – everyone was happy. No scandal was too big for him to diffuse and if he decided you would be a star, it was only a matter of time.
Having the same names posed a slight problem. Since the older joined forces with Jiyong, he had taken on the alias TOP and that was what the entertainment industry knew him as, even the serious business papers referred to them as GDragon and TOP when the merger was reported.
