Chapter 10
Closing the DistanceFour months go by in a flash and all of a sudden it’s the day of my debut stage. I’m nervous as hell as I wait in the waiting room. There’s a knock on the door and John Park comes in. I stand up to greet him.
“Sunbae. What are you doing here?” I ask him.
“I’m here to support you of course.” he says, handing me flowers. “How are you feeling?”
“Nervous.” I say earning a laugh from him. I thank him for the flowers and motion for him to sit down.
“You’ll do fine. Nerves are normal. But once you’re on that stage you will forget everything and sing your heart out.” he tells me.
There’s another knock on the door and a staff member pops their head in and tells me to go on standby. I turn to look at John with wide eyes. He laughs at my expression then pats me on the shoulder.
“You’ll do fine Jae. Fighting!” he says before pushing me out the door.
I’m standing under the stage when my manager comes up to me and tells me I have a few messages on my phone. I look at the screen and see 4 New Messages. I wonder who would be messaging me and take my phone to check them. The messages are from Soo Hyuk, Young Kwang, Jong Hyun and a number that isn’t saved in my phone.
From: Soo Hyuk.
Good luck Jae! We’ll be watching for your stage. Catch up soon okay? xo
From: Young Kwang.
Good luck today kiddo! x
From: Jong Hyun.
Jae-ssi!! Soo Hyuk Hyung said you’re debuting today. We’re going to get together to watch you. Don’t be nervous and go knock ‘em dead. Fighting!
From: Unknown
Hello Jae-ssi. It’s Kim Woo Bin. I hope you don’t mind but Young-Kwang Hyun gave me your number. They were all sending you messages of support and I wanted to send you one too. Good luck today. You’ll do great. Fighting!
I smile as I read the messages. I make a mental note to reply to them once the recording is over. “Jae-ssi, please go up on stage.”
This is it.
A/N: A nice short chapter for once..
