Kyungsoo’s POV

I acted out of instinct.

Aish, I shouldn’t have done that

I just repeated what I did before.

Now, she’s scared of me.

I know she is.

How?

She’s just sitting silently beside me

Speechless

Probably traumatized by what she saw.

I showed my inner beast again.

“Kyungsoo ssi” I was startled to hear her talking to me

“hmmm?”

“ice cream”

Taeyeon’s POV

“so, you like strawberry?” Kyungsoo asked

“yeah, you?”

“nothing in particular”

An awkward silence.

We’ve been sitting here in the ice cream parlor for almost an hour now. And that was our only conversation since we’ve arrived.

I don’t really know why but I’ve been too conscious of him since awhile ago. I can’t even face him properly. What the heck is wrong with me?!

“Taeyeon ssi”

“yes?” I answered as I found out that I was spacing out. He reached for the corner of my lips and wiped it. I jolted at the sensation of his hand touching my lip

“there was ice cream on it” he explained

“a-a-arasso”

Another awkward silence

“mianhe, Taeyeon ssi” he suddenly broke the silence which made me look to his direction and looking for his eyes to make eye contact

“w-waeyo?” I stammered

“I showed you my inner beast, were you scared?” he asks finally looking directly at me.

His eyes…

It shows pure sincerity

And concern

He is truly sorry

“aniyo, I was even relieved when you did that” I explained

His eyes looked surprised

“thanks” I shyly said

Then……..

the unexpected happened….

his eyes started to sparkle as his lips formed a wide yet innocent smile

‘was he this handsome?’ I wondered

“Taeyeon?” he called out

Drats!

I spaced out

This is so damn embarrassing

“y-yeah?” I answered while looking away

“your phone... it’s ringing” he informed me while pointing at my phone using his lips… cute >.<

“ha?! Ommo! It really is!” I hurriedly answered my phone

“hello, Myungsoo yah”

[noona! Are you okay? I just finished club activities. Is there something that I could do to be of help?]

“oh, you’re done? Well I already did what I needed to”

[oh, really. Mianhe, noona. I wasn’t able to help]

“aish, don’t worry about it”

[really?]

“yeah”

[where are you right now, noona?]

“I’m eating ice cream”

[are you alone?]

“a-ani”

[eh… are you on a date?] I blushed at Myungsoo’s question as I looked at Kyungsoo who was also looking at me

“yah, where did you get that idea? I’m just with a friend”

[suspicious answer, noona… oh well, I don’t want to disturb your date so I’m hanging up. Bye!]

“yah! Yah! Myungsoo yah!... aish, this kid! Hanging up on me” I complained

“was that your brother?” Kyungsoo asks

“yes, my dongsaeng” I answered

He nods, showing he understands.

awkward silence

“Kyungsoo ssi,”

“hmmm?”

“won’t you ask any question about the incident awhile ago?”

“I am curious about it, but I think you wouldn’t want to discuss it. I think a topic where in a girl would cry for is something that I should not poke my nose into” he answers while looking sternly outside the window

“well, you see that man awhile ago was Shim Changmin… my ex-boyfriend” he looked my way

“but things didn’t go well for us… I became too clingy and as what he said before ‘I was too young for him’ so he broke up with me” I added. Tears started to roll down my cheeks again, remembering how much I hurt back then.

“if he thinks that way…” he held my hand and looked deep into my eyes

“he doesn’t deserve you” he added

“don’t cry…” he said as he wiped my tears away

“smile… your true beauty comes out when you smile” I smiled as he told me. Somewhat his words made my heart feel lighter and flutter. My ears feel warm. The world seems to glitter...

And the aches I've been feeling because of Changmin has disappeared
