Kyungsoo’s POV

Dammit! Why did I even say I was up to this?

Well, I can’t date Taeyeon without their approval.

Date Taeyeon?

Now where did that come from?

I like her

Scratch that

I love her

And if I need to get over a number of hurdles I really don’t mind. Taeyeon is worthy of all the trouble that I will go through. And hopefully she feels the same way too.

I heave out a sigh before opening the door of their dojo. I saw four figures. Of course there will be four, she has four brothers.

“Good morning everyone!” I greeted while bowing

“you don’t need to be so formal Kyungsoo ah...” Yesung hyung said

“exactly hyung” Myungsoo seconded while both Jaejoong and Heechul hyung remained silent

I went closer to the four of them who were at the middle of the dojo

“sit” Heechul commanded and I just obliged

“so, Kyungsoo ssi… I heard that Myungsoo already gave his thumbs up to you” he said while pacing back and forth infront of me.

“yes” I answered

“so since Myungsoo betrayed me… you only need to undergo 3 more challenges” he explained further and I just gulped down my saliva

“you don’t need to worry. We have different challenges prepared for you. Each challenge will test a certain quality that we want Taengoo’s boyfriend to possess” Yesung hyung said as he tapped my shoulder trying to comfort me.

But, heck no, I am not in any single way relaxed with his words. I know Taeyeon’s brothers are successful in each of their field. Well, I’ve done some research and her family after all was famous.

Kim Taeyeon, the only girl in the Kim household. She is the leader of the elite group of female socialites. She was once a model for magazines and hailed as the most beautiful woman in Korea.

Kim Myungsoo, the star player of the Seoul National High School Soccer team. He is known for his good looks and charms. He is a also a part of their school band and they call themselves Infinite.

Kim Jaejoong, the younger twin. He is a well-known lawyer who hasn’t lost to any case that he has hold. He is a candidate to be the next chief justice. According to rumors, he can state articles and laws verbatim because he has a good memory

Kim Jungwoon, the older twin. Known for his cooking skills and is a very skilled veterinary doctor. They say he has god’s hands. He also holds a golden voice. Aside from which he also holds the title of being a math wizard

And lastly, Kim Heechul, the eldest son of the family. He currently sits as the CEO of Kim Corp., which he obtained at the tender age of 20, just about my age now. He is just wickedly smart and is known as the White Snake, since he is handsome and evil, as what they say.

Among the four brothers Heechul and Jaejoong are the most protective ones of Taeyeon.

“well then, let’s start with Jaejoong…” Heechul hyung announced

“this is just a simple test of memory, Kyungsoo ssi” Jaejoong started off once we entered a room in the dojo.

Just as I thought, a memory game.

“it’s just a simple matchup game… we’ll go for three rounds. We’ll take turns in picking two cards. Did I make myself clear?” he instructed

“yes, but.. can I ask?”

“what?”

“you said, the tests are about traits that you want Taeyeon’s boyfriend to have right?” I asked and he nodded “so, what does having good memory entail?” I continued

“well, Taeng is the forgetful one. Someone should be with her to remind her about things and also, girls love to celebrate monthsaries and all those cheesy dates. We don’t want her to get upset because you’ve forgotten about it” he explained

“ah, that explains things”

“anymore?” he asked and I just shook my head “well then, let us start” he announced

Well, rumor about him was right after all. He remembered everything so well. He hasn’t even committed a mistake. In the first round, he was ahead of me by 3 pairs. We’ll be doing it for three rounds and that means I have to win two out three. And clearly, I am on the losing side.

I concentrated hard for the next round and miraculously, I won by just one pair. Now, that it’s the last round, it’s now or never. If I don’t win this then I’ll never get the chance to make Taeyeon my girlfriend.

Girlfriend?

Awhile ago, my aim was just to date her and now I am planning to make her my girlfriend? I really have high dreams

“ahhh, this is boring” Jaejoong hyung announced

“yes, indeed” Jungwoon hyung agreed.

Currently, there is just the three of us.

“Just let him win now Joong ah. This game is really boring” Yesung hyung suggested

“no! we must play hyung!” I insisted. Their eyebrows furrowed giving me a questioning look.

“eh? Why are you saying no? I’m making it easy for you right, don’t you want that?” Jaejoong asked

“I want to win fair and square. I don’t want an easy win because I really don’t care about going through lots of things as long as it is for Taeyeon” I explained

They both remained silent for awhile and exchange meaningful eye contacts

“you pass” Jaejoong hyung announced

“what?”

“you already pass, we know you’re sincere so I don’t think I need to endure this pain in the to play with you right now” Jaejoong hyung explained

“bu-“

“and besides, I only went easy on you on the previous rounds. You will never win against me if I didn’t go easy on you” he explained further as he tapped my shoulder.

“gomawo hyung” I said bowing respectfully to him

“aigoo, don’t thank me yet. Thank me when I give you my vote later” Jaejoong hyung said which puzzled me. Vote?

“let’s proceed to next test now” Yesung hyung suggested and led me to a… kitchen? Their dojo has a kitchen?

“I think you already have a grasp of the idea” he said and I just nodded.

“so what will we cook?” I asked

“Taeyeon’s favorite dish” he answered with a grin “Sundaeguk, Haejangguk, Hiyashi chukka. Our baby girl has a bit of a big appetite” he added

“and the judge will be?”

“Jae, Heenim and Myungsoo…. Taengoo is off with her girls today” he answered.

“shall we start?” he asked and I nodded

Thankfully, I know how to cook those dishes. If not, then I am screwed. While we were cooking…

“you know, Taengoo doesn’t have a talent in cooking… and she almost avoids cooking aside from pastry stuff even if she loves cooking. Not until recently, she always observed me while I cook. She suddenly wanted to learn how to cook. We all want her to have someone who knows how to cook and can share with her, her passion for cooking”

“don’t worry hyung, I’ll surpass you” I said confidently. Well, if there is something that I am proud of it’s my skill and talent in cooking

“looking forward to that Kyungsoo” he smirked

Lunch time came and now it’s time to serve the food. They didn’t know which dish was cooked by Yesung hyung and which one was cooked by me. We all ate our lunch. And I must say, Yesung hyung is a really good cook. To be honest, if I didn’t which plate I placed my dish I wouldn’t have recognized it.

“they taste the same” Myungsoo commented

“dae, I can’t tell which one is hyung’s even if we’ve been eating what he cooked for years now” Jaejoong hyung added

‘so, since everyone is done eating let’s proceed to the voting” Yesung hyung announced

“aish, we don’t need the voting… the three of you will just vote for him anyways” Heechul hyung said as he stood up from his seat

“eh? You really know us well, don’t you Heenim?” Yesung hyung asked

“of course, I raised you… and you” he pointed me

“dae?”

“prepare for our match in 30 minutes” he said as he walked out of the room

“good luck hyung” Myungsoo said tapping my shoulder

“that’s all that we can do for you now, Kyungsoo ssi” Jaejoong hyung

“warning though… he’s the best in Korea” Yesung
