Kyungsoo’s POV

She’s trembling beside me. It makes me wonder why she fears going to her brother’s office so well. I really want to know but I can’t bring myself to ask such sensitive question. So I just drove silently to our destination knowing she really needs someone to accompany her

-flashback-

“oh no, I don’t want to” Taeyeon muttered after reading a text message that she just received

“can I be of help?” I asked out of concern

“kyungsoo ssi” she looked at me with teary eyes

“waeyo?”

“can you please accompany me to my brother’s office? I’m really scared to go there alone” she pleaded

-end of flashback-

“Taeyeon,” I called out gently. She turned to face me. She seemed to be more nervous now that we are infront of her brother’s office. On a side note, I think Taeyeon’s parents are so amazing to be able to raise a lawyer, a doctor and Taeyeon. I wonder what her other siblings are like.        

“Everything is going to be fine, okay?” I reassured her as I held her hand

“gomawo, Kyungsoo ssi” she said as she placed a smile on her face.

We both got off my car. She took the lead for she knows this place well and I just followed her.

She stopped in front of a door

Atty. Shim Changmin

That was what was written on the door.

Taeyeon took a deep breath and closed her eyes before knocking three times

“come on in” Taeyeon jolted upon hearing the voice from the other side

She opened the door and entered the room, I followed her in

“Oh, what a surprise! Kim Taeye---“ the man’s greeting was cut off when he saw me

“who’s this Taeyeon?” the man asked with a threatening tone

“Oppa, told me to bring this to his office and leave it you” Taeyeon said as she handed over the envelope to the man. If I’m not mistaken, this man is Changmin.

“oh thanks. So, Taetae who is this midget?” he asked. Aish, just because he is tall how dare he call me midget?

“he’s not a midget, you’re just abnormally tall” Taeyeon defended. “Let’s go Kyungsoo” she held my hand and motioned to leave as she pulled me out of the room

“ahhhh, so his name is Kyungsoo. Taeyeon, I think your standards have deteriorated” Taeyeon stopped on cue with his statement. Her grip tightened

“you see from liking a guy like me, you ended up liking a guy like him” he remarked in disbelief

“well, I did expect this after I’ve dumped you” what did he just say?! He rejected Taeyeon?! I looked at Taeyeon and saw the tears starting to form at the side of her eyes

Taeyeon’s POV

I felt that Kyungsoo tightened his grip as though he was comforting me. I looked at him and he gave me a reassuring smile. And like magic, I stopped trembling and my fear suddenly vanished.

Kyungsoo’s smile vanished and his face became serious and his oh so famous poker face was on

“yah, are you done talking?” Kyungsoo asked Changmin with pure coldness in his tone. Changmin was speechless

“oh, I guess you are. I was about to say stop insulting me already but I guess I was too late. Word of advice Changmin… You should not insult someone who doesn’t care about what people say. And never ever hurt someone whom you love”

“what do you mean ‘someone I love’?!” Changmin stuttered with what Kyungsoo said

“oh come on, don’t deny it dude. You must really be regretting the fact that you dumped her” Kyungsoo taunted Changmin again.

But, wait. What did Kyungsoo say?

“What are you trying to say midget?” this time Changmin taunted back

“you.don’t.deserve.taeyeon.you.coward” Changmin flared up with what Kyungsoo said and immediately charged at Kyungsoo. I got scared seeing Changmin charging towards Kyungsoo. I’ve known Changmin for years; he has been Jaejoong oppa’s friend since they were in middle school. And I know very well he was good in fights. I closed my eyes as soon as I realized Kyungsoo let go of my hand. I knew what would happen next, I’ll probably hear Kyungs----

“aaahhh!” Changmin yelped in pain

When I opened my eyes I saw Kyungsoo restraining Changmin

“stop.calling.me.midget.its.irritating.coward” Kyungsoo whispered grimly on Changmin’s ears. He let him go after saying such, which made Changmin drop to the floor.

Kyungsoo walked to me and grabbed my hand “Let’s go”

I was speechless. I wasn’t able to speak while he dragged me going out of the office and into his car.
