"Amber....Amber no."

I opened my eyes to the sound of her calling my name. I sat up in bed and saw her in tears. 

"Jessica," I said shaking her softly, "Jessica wake up." She bolted up and looked at me with wide eyes. 

"A-Amber," She said with quivering lips. I pulled her toward my chest.

"Shh, it's okay Jessica," I said rubbing her back, "Just let it all out." For the next few minutes she sat in my arms crying.

"Before you say anything. Know that I love you okay? I'll stay up for you and comfort you whenever. Jessica, this accident wasn't your fault at all. Don't blame yourself and stop apologizing." I paused and looked at her.

"No," I said sternly, "None of this was your fault. Jessica, he was drunk. What he did to me could've happened to anyone."
