Scenario: Lay moves away after each school year. He decided to cut ties with people to avoid the pain of never seeing them again. But with Amber he didn't want to lose her. (fluff) 

Lay x Amber: Come Back

As long as Lay can remember, his family moved at the end of every school year that it became normal. It would be way too painful to keep ties with people whom he will never see again. He wanted to avoid that kind of pain of always being lonely.

“Lay, are you listening?” Amber waved her hand in front of Lay’s face. He blinked a few times, pulling out of his thoughts.

“Oh, sorry, what was that?”

Amber sighed, “I said we should go swimming during break. And maybe even go on a trip together, or have a sleepover.”

Lay’s throat dried up. He never mentioned to Amber that he was moving. She had already made plans for them to hang out all through out break.

“Um, Amber, actually--”

“Amber, here’s an invitation to my party next week,” a boy named Jinki interrupted.

“Thanks!” Amber happily accepted the invitation. Jinki turned to Lay and pouted apologetically. “It that you’re moving. It won’t be as fun without you there.”

Amber froze.

“What do you mean you’re moving?”

Lay played with his fringe, completely reluctant to talk about this with her. Jinki felt the change in atmosphere and made an effort to back away without being noticed. To his dismay, Amber shot him a glare. “Do you know what he’s talking about, Jinki?”

Jinki blinked a few times, looking over at Lay who was ignoring the both of them. “Uh, I think this is something that the two you of you should discuss privately.” He scurried off to the other side of the classroom to avoid Amber’s wrath.

The bell rang, signalling the end of the school year. The sound of chairs squeaking and students rushing out the door filled the air. Amber and Lay remained in their seats as the classroom was quickly emptied into silence.

“...Lay,” Amber began.

“I’m moving. I move after every school year. Sorry for not telling you sooner,” he sighed, fixing his gaze on the top of desk. A moment of silence passed by.

“You better come visit me,” she finally muttered under her breath. Lay looked up, not expecting that kind of response. Most of the time when he left his friends would tell him to have a safe trip and stay healthy, but this was the first anyone had told him that they wanted to stay friends.

He furrowed his brows. “I think by the time I come back we’ll be well off on our separate ways.”

“It’s going to take you that long?”

“...Maybe.”

“Then let’s get married before you leave. You’ll be obligated to come back faster.”

Lay’s eyes widened in surprise. Her sudden bold statement caught him off guard. “You’re so weird,” Lay weakly chuckled.

“I’m being serious. It doesn’t have to be now, but when you come back let’s get married.” Amber blushed a deep red at her way of confessing to her close friend.

“Is this some sort of confession?” Lay couldn’t help but to a little bit.

“Of course. I wasn’t planning to until later, but you forced me to say it now.”

He couldn’t brush off the feeling that he will truly miss this girl. He decided.

“I promise to come back.”

She smiled cheerfully. “I’ll be waiting.”

10 Years Later

Lay tapped his foot nervously while waiting for the bus. He repeatedly checked his watch for the time, and then fumbled through his jean pockets for a small object. A simple, yet beautiful ring was pulled out. He smiled to himself, I hope she’s still waiting for me.
