Scenario: Amber is the master of Henry, who is known as a "Hybrid Child." (fantasy, romance, fluff)

HenBer: Hybrid Child

Essentially a mirror.

Neither machine nor doll.

Reflecting the degree of the owner’s affection and translating it into growth. This is what’s called a hybrid child.

“I can’t focus! I finally mustered up enough energy to walk to my desk to start studying, but now that I’m here I can’t do it!” Amber loudly complained to herself. The sun’s heat mercilessly showered down on Amber through the window that hung over her work desk.

A baby-faced male walked through the door dressed in all black--black jeans, black shirt, and black hoodie. He made his way toward Amber, his presence emitting an intimidating aura onto Amber.

“Henryyy~ I know, I know, but it’s too hot,” she pouted.

“Blaming the weather for your laziness is shameful enough, but with your low grades you’ll definitely fail the semester.” Henry glared down on Amber. He quickly continued, “Even if you end up rotting from the heat, you’re still at your last year of high school, so please take in the situation of your failing grades more responsibly.”

“Yeah, I get it!”

“If you get it then stop lazing around!”

“Well excuse me for your master being such a dunce,” Amber mumbled.

“Refrain yourself from the back talk. If you manage to not fail the next exam, then I’ll be willing to listen to any complaints that you have about me.”

I was eight when I found Henry in the garbage dump near the park that I played at. I took him in. I thought that he was just a doll, but it turned out he was a toy known as a hybrid child. HC’s are well-known among private circles of rich, middle-aged men. It’s the embodiment of male fantasy.

It’s disgusting really. Depending on the love and attention the owner gives the HC, the owner is able to raise the HC however he likes.

Me, being a female, it was rare for me to own one. When I brought him home, my parents were eager to sell him off for a large sum of money. I’m glad that even back then I was terribly stubborn and told them that I’ll never ask for anything again if I got to keep Henry. Eventually they agreed.

When I found him he was unable to move on his own, as if he had completely given up hope. Raising and caring for an HC is quite difficult, so I was very happy when Henry started moving. He was like a baby duck, following me wherever I went--listening to me without any fuss--but now…

“Amber, this one is wrong, this one, this one. Do you even double check your answers? Be sure to read the questions carefully.” Henry flipped through Amber’s math workbook, checking to see if she was improving or not. And obviously she was not.

"Anyway, how aren't you sweating? You make me hot by just  looking at you." Amber curled the sleeves of her shirt up in attempt to help her cool down.

"I'm perfectly fine. Unlike humans, my body automatically adjusts to the temperature." Henry gently caressed Amber’s cheek to have her feel what he meant.

“It’s cold.” Her eyes widened in awe. “Henry!”

“Yes?”

"Quick, strip!" She dove onto him, viciously ping his jacket and slipping his shirt over his head.

"W-what are you doing?!" He panicked, completely taken off guard at her sudden actions.

“Just hurry up!” She struggled to get his arms out of the sleeves.

“Wait!”

Before he knew it, he was lying on his back on the carpeted floor with Amber tightly hugging his body. "Ahh, so cold." She happily cooed.

He rolled his eyes, so that was her goal, he thought.

"Why have you never mentioned this before?" She comfortably rested her cheek on his smooth, bare chest. “I could’ve avoided going through these hot summers year after year.”

Why must my master be such an idiot, Henry sighed.

“Okay, I think you’ve cooled down enough, get off.” He nudged her, but she didn’t move.

Unbelievable. She fell asleep, Henry couldn’t help but to chuckle at least a little bit. He lifted her up bridal style and carried her to her bed so that she could comfortably rest. He stood at the edge of her bed, admiring her sleeping face. She looked so much at peace now that she wasn’t complaining about the heat.

Even though I owe her my life for saving me from being thrown away, I won’t spoil and pamper her. No, I’m probably spoiling her too much right now, Henry thought. He bent down and brushed her bangs off her forehead.

Now that I think about it, it was a summer day when Amber found me. I had been thrown away twice before by scumbag men. I was more than happy to not have been to their liking. Amber was third person to take me in.

She carried me on her back all the way home. Though I couldn’t move or speak at the time, my vision was working normally. I saw her sweat drenched shirt, and she spoke to me with kind words. “Don’t worry! I’ll take you home with me. I don’t know if my parents will let me keep you, but I’ll definitely keep you safe as long as I can.”

Three times her parents tried to auction me off. Still, Amber came to save me each time. Eventually they stopped trying to sell me after seeing how much their daughter wanted to keep me. I remember the eight-year-old Amber tightly holding onto the limp me as she boldly protested to her parents to let me stay. They then registered me as part of their family, and Amber officially became known as my master.

It’s already been ten years since then.

It took me four years to start moving, and another year to start talking. Slowly, but surely, I starting growing by her affection towards me. My past owners failed to have me grow because their love was impure. They just wanted my body to toy with. But Amber...her love was pure and innocent.

Henry’s thoughts were interrupted when Amber began to stir in her sleep, and soon opening her eyes.

Henry quickly turned away, fixing his clothes back onto his upper half. “You can sleep a little bit more. At this rate your brain won’t be able to function properly in this heat.”

“I had an incredible dream just now!” Amber exclaimed, sitting upright in excitement.

“What kind of dream?”

“I dreamt that I was soaking in a sea of shaved ice! I could practically feel myself being refreshed by the ice. It was so cold and smelled so sweet!”

“I take that back! You’re studying right now!”

“Nooo! If I don’t sleep now I’ll pass out,” Amber pleaded.

“No excuses!”

“But..but,” Amber tried to reason with him.

“Listen, you really need to pass.” Henry came over to sit on the edge of the bed next to Amber. “I’ll bring you some ice tea to cool you down, so by the time I come back I better see you trying.” Henry combed his fingers through Amber’s hair, sending a refreshing chill through her body. He leaned in and placed an icy kiss on her forehead.

Amber’s face immediately reddenned. “Bring two glasses of ice tea. My face feels really hot all of a sudden.”

Henry chuckled, “Will do.” He began making his way to the door to prepare the beverage.

“Hey Henry,” she called out his name.

Henry turned around. “Yes?”

Amber grinned widely. “I love you.”

Henry smiled in return. “I know.”

Thanks to Amber's unlimited amounts of love, she was able to teach the inhuman Henry something that a Hybrid Child should not be able to learn: how to love.

A/N: It is now summer break which means more updates yaaay! Yeah, no HenBer yet, but at least it's HenBer, right? xD
