(Jin Woon) Sixteenth Day of Christmas: Christmas Carols.
Christmas Days
16th of December. 9days to Christmas!
Christmas Carols
" You better watch out
You better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town"
The shopping mall you frequent was playing this song.
It was so ...jolly, it actually trigger that happy feet dancing in you. Unknowingly humming along.
"Aren't you too old to be singing Christmas Carols? "
"아니! (No) " you cheekily grinned back.
"He's making a list,
And checking it twice;
Gonna find out
Who's naughty and nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town"
You pointed at JinWoon and animatedly sang the next line..
"He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake!"
Emphasising on " So be good for goodness sake! " and grinned.
He rolled his eyes and smacked your hands away.
It's the sixteenth of December.
You're out shopping with your brother Jin Woon.
He met up with you at a cafe since he had something on in the morning.
You've spent your whole morning singing along to the Christmas songs they were playing while waiting.
And.. damn.. those songs are so good at stirring the Christmas spirit in you~
"Santa Claus is coming to town. Santa Claus is coming to townnnnnnnn!!!"
You animatedly ended off the last of the song, and he embarrassedly lowered his head while taking side glances to make sure no one was witnessing your crazy singing.
"Yahh.. Stop it! " he slung his hand over your shoulders.
You grinned in response, but that wasn't the end of it.
As both of you made your way out of the cafe, Rudolph, The Red-Nose Reindeer was playing.
" Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows "
He shook his head in response the minute you sang along.
He knows he was in for your crazy song-singing session as long as the shopping mall keeps playing 'em.
You grinned.
First, both of you were looking for a gift for Dad. "
Mmm... Let's get him a book shall we? " He turned around to face you after looking through items and items in the department store.
Instead of replying, Your response was,
"Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then all the reindeer loved him
And they shouted out with glee
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history!"
He pursed his lips, " Dongsaeng-ah.. " he tried nagging.
You just sang along~
Finally, that silent transition as the song changes.
You replied back,
" I think Dad needs an Ipad though. He could use it to read his papers and all. "
He thought for a while, " But... doesn't he prefers reading from the papers? "
You frowned. Sometimes it really is hard to find a perfect gift.
Especially for you family members since you know so well what they don't need and need.
Its also difficult to identify their wants.
" Or.. a new coat? " you suggested.
"That's good... Maybe we could grab him some scarves too? "
He wasn't fast enough to ask, for you had already started on the next song...
City sidewalk, busy sidewalks dressed in holiday style.
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas.
"Aish.. reply me first then you'll sing! "
You cheekily shook your head.
Children laughing, people passing, meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner you'll hear
He stood there, giving you a nonchalant look, insisting on staring at you until you're done singing.
You weren't at a loss, so you continued.
Silver bells, silver bells, It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring, soon it will be Christmas day.
" Are you done now ? " he shot you a glare.
You nodded.
"So.. scarves. Do we get scarves? "
" I think Dad needs gloves more. "
" Gloves? "
"Yeah.. I saw the one he's using getting all tattered and old... ughs. "
You cringed your body showing disgust.
" Hmm.. Leather or Woollen? "
You smirked, and snapped your fingers, as if on cue, the next song played.
" We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
We wish you a merry Christmas
And a happy New Year. "
He gave an exasperated sigh.
With all these songs playing, shopping will never be done!
He gave a groan and made the decision himself.
He went to the area selling gloves.
He was about to ask for your opinion on the colour and pattern to choose, but you're already singing the next line.
" We want some figgy pudding
We want some figgy pudding
We want some figgy pudding
Please bring it right here!
Good tidings we bring To you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas And a happy New Year! "
He gave a sigh and picked a pair of black wollen gloves. It was slightly patterned at the sides.
Definitely Dad's style.
He gave you a look.
You shot him a grin as you continued to sing.
" We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some
We won't go until we get some So bring it out here!
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas
And a happy New Year! "
He frowned and walked to the coat section.
He quickly flipped through the selections offered.
He realised the song is ending and he waited for you.
" So.. This or that? "
One was a black knee length coat, the buttons and the fabric was definitely a good combination.
Other was a brown plain coat, with a belt at the waist.
Honestly, Jin Woon has great taste in clothes, you wondered why he always asked you.
" Mmm... Black? "
He nodded, almost as if glad one person's gift was settled,... after so long and much singing.
"So.. mum?"
He was slow by a few beats,
" On the first day of Christmas, My true love sent to me: A partridge in a pear tree. "
You have a terrible habit of being...overly passionate..
And he can never stopped you.
You giggled slightly, and figured you should stop teasing him.
"Okay.. I won't sing anymore.
Oppa. Let's get mum some cosmetics. She need new ones. We could grab some beauty products too. "
You tugged on his sweater and whined a little, hopefully having aegyo and he won't be mad.
He gave a smile of relief. Both of you made way to a beauty shop.
You narrowed down to three selections, Suitable for your mum's skin and her needs.
" Oppa, this one with the ribbon, or this one? " you showed up two basket of products. He grinned,
" Jolly old Saint Nicholas,
lean your ear this way!
Don't you tell a single soul what I'm going to say:
Christmas Eve is coming soon;
now, you dear old man
Whisper what you'll bring to me; tell me if you can. "
You gave him a you-are-not-going-to-play-games-with-me-like-this look.
He grinned harder, and stuffed his fingers into his ears.
" When the clock is striking twelve, when I'm fast asleep
Down the chimney, broad and black, with your pack you'll creep
All the stockings you will find hanging in a row
Mine will be the shortest one, you'll be sure to know "
There you go, your childish brother getting back at you.
You gave him a you-are-so-childish.
He chuckled.
So... finally both of you are done with the Christmas shopping after much effort.
"So Oppa, shall we grab some food? " you asked him.
Both of you realised the song that was playing, both of you gave a grin to each other, and as if on cue, Both of you synchronised and sang!
" Dashing through the snow On a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, Laughing all the way;
Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight,
O Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh "
