Onew’s eyes were as glittery as the flames on his candles.
He can’t believe yet another year has passed.
He can’t believe its already… he lost count, the nth time s has celebrated his birthday!
"I…wish for everyone’s good health, and forever SHINee as one~"
With the brightest smile, he ended his wish and hurriedly blew off the candles.
He was about to face s for another round of expressing his gratitude, like how adorable he always was.
*SMASH*
A perfectly good cake was ruined.
Now covered with bits of crumbs and cream at every part of his face, the members were all bursting into laughters,
Key crying from the laughing, MinHo’s cheeky smirk, JongHyun dramatic loud laugh, and Taeminnie’s huge grin.
The leader, as always, burst into smiles nonetheless, he can never get angry at his lovely members. Not when they are always so respectful and such good dongsaengs to him.
Suddenly, he caught that eye signal JongHyun sent to Taemin, and Taemin nudging Key.
He may have Onew Sangtae, but he isn't someone who can't tell that there is something going on.
From the looks of it, probably one of the silly tricks they are playing.
He widen his eyes as wide as the cream lets him.
It would be terrible if it enters his eyes.
"Hyung~"
Taemin started first with that cheeky smile of his.
Key’s lips spread into a bright smile.
"We’ve gotten you a present."
Taemin reached for the small little boxed gift on the table, and hands it over to JinKi as if the gift… is dangerous.
The leader raised his eyebrows suspiciously, he looks into every members eyes, all had that devilish aura in them.
This gift is suspicious.
"What’s this?" he asked cautiously.
"The start to your.. new journey." JongHyun cleverly replied.
He knit his eyebrows together, causing some of the cake crumbs to fall down.
He slowly, reached for the lid, eyes still on the members.
The members’ eyes were getting bigger as the lid is raised from the box.
JinKi’s heart was getting more nervous. If its something weird like Underwear,..well..
He wouldn’t do anything. They’ve gotten for JongHyun before on Hello Baby.
But that shouldn’t be the gift,… JongHyun’s clue : the start of a new journey..
He decided to tease the members.
Just when the lid is about to reach the top of the box, he fully shut it back down, earning glares from s.
"I’m sorry, I forgot its rude to open presents in front of people who had gave me the gift. "
He earned groans and whines, "Hyungggg! It is okay! We don't mind! JUST OPEN IT! " Key dramatically gestured his hands as he expressed his frustration.
JinKi laughed and gave his eye smile.
He swiftly lifted the lid.
His mouth fell open.
What kind of a gift is this?!
He raised the gift to the members and questioned this.
"What.. Is this? "
Taemin grinned, "Hyung, you've never seen before?"
He exchanged mischievious glances with the four other men.
"Mistletoe. "
JinKi rolled his eyes and gave an unbelievable laugh.
He almost know what was coming.
"We..think its time for you to have your first kiss. "
JongHyun tried his best to contain that giggly gas in him and said it as serious as he could.
"Since your birthday is near Christmas, " Minho added.
Key and Taemin chorused, "So we've gotten you a mistle toe! "
The four of them burst into laughters.
The leader's face was growing tomato red.
What kind of a ridiculous present is this? He stared at that plant nestled in the box, in disbelief.
"Hyung, use this well! "
The four of them wink.
That night,
He stood in front of her door, nervous like never before. (Hello MV scene)
Not even as nervous as the time before their debut stage.
She.. She was the only girl he ever had a crush on.
She.. didn't know..maybe.
Onew has always showed smiles only.
She was a noona.
She always think of Onew as a DongSaeng.

The door opened.
Her beautiful face was before him.
" Well, hello dongsaeng. Happy Birthday to you~"
His heart ached a little.
The start of a new journey.
JongHyun's clue may be the phrase that encourages him for the next step.
He grinned and put the mistle toe above her with his hand resting against the door.
"Wha-What are you doing? "

He chuckled.
He was so so so so nervous.
What silly ideas s have come up with..
But he can't back out.
Not now.. Not ever.

He leaned in to crash his lips on his.
He was afraid to go rough.
He was afraid..

That sufficed to electrocute him.
She was that attractive to him.
" Sorry Noona, Mistle toe.. "
He tried to suppress that nervousness with some silly words.
Noona, you have no idea how crazy my heart is pumping at your sight,
She grinned, " You silly Dongsaeng, " She ruffled his hair.
Noona had always treat him like a dongsaeng, .. even now.
Onew grew serious.
Things have to change, he was already a grown man.
He deserves to be thought of as a grown-man.
" Noona.. " He puts on a serious face.
" I know Noona sees me as a Dongsaeng, in the past, and now. "
His voice was getting shaky. Hang in there!

Her eyebrows are raised.

He grinned, two can play games.

He leaned in again, dropping the mistletoe on the floor.
His hands gently held her head as he kissed her sensually.
He felt her encircling her arms around his waist.
When they broke off, she smacked him lightly.
She looked at him thoughtfully.
"I had always like you, just.. I don't know if you see me as a Noona or as a Woman. "
She grinned, " But today,.. everything has changed. "
He raise his eyebrows. She liked him this whole time?!
" I love you Lee Jin Ki. " She hugged him.
That mistletoe, wasn't too bad of a gift afterall.
It has indeed led to a new journey.
A new journey with her. The one he loves ;D
