Cheerleader

I Got A Feeling

"Do I have to come? I was planning on shopping today." You grumbled at Raehwan.

Raehwan swiftly turned the wheel as the car made a left, keeping his eyes on the road. "Yes. You have to come. Feeldog has a track-and-field competition today."

"Track-and-field race?" You blinked at Raehwan. "Gwangsuk runs?"

Raehwan chuckled. "He's the captain of the team in our school. Since you're his girlfriend, you have to be there to cheer him on."

*Girlfriend? I don't even feel like I exist to him anymore.* You pouted as you turned to look out the window.

Ever since you saw Feeldog and the girl yesterday, the feeling of worry and sadness has been bothering you. You would constantly think of it and become frustrated at the thought.

You let out a quiet sigh as you looked down at your hand, playing with the ring on your finger. *Why should I even care? It's not like he cares about me...*

You were too busy thinking that you didn't notice Raehwan finish parking, stopping the engine of the car afterwards.

"Yah! We're here now!" Raehwan snapped his fingers in front of you, bringing you back to reality.

You looked at him blankly before looking around, noticing that you were parked in front of an indoor track-and-field stadium.

"The game is starting soon. Let's go." Raehwan said, exiting the car and slamming the door shut.

You followed after him, slipping your shoulder bag on and staring at the huge stadium in front of you.

"Jihyo-ah!" Raehwan was already at the entrance when he called you.

You quickly ran to him, following him into the huge stadium. He lead you through many hallways until the two of you reached a door, a sign that read 'BS HIGH' taped on it.

Raehwan looked at you one last time before knocking on the door and opening it, revealing a spacious room. It looked somewhat like a backstage room where idols would warm up before their performance began. There were also tables and chairs set up around the place.

You entered the room to find students of BS high stretching and warming up their muscles. You didn't know any of them personally, but you could remember seeing some of their faces around the school. They were all too busy minding their own business to notice you and Raehwan.

In the far corner of the room, Feeldog sat in a chair, tying his shoes and listening to music through earphones.

You could feel your breath stop at the sight of him. Before you knew it, you were already scanning him. He was wearing a white wife beater, plain black basketball shorts, and clean runners. You could clearly see the muscles in his arms and legs.

You could feel your heart beat faster and your cheeks warm up at the way Feeldog looked at the moment. You couldn't help but feel attracted to him.

Like the other students in the room, he never noticed you and Raehwan enter the room.

Raehwan smiled and walked towards his best friend, slapping the back of his head once he reached him.

Feeldog look up from the ground, startled at the sudden impact. He saw Raehwan smirking at him, his arms crossed over his chest. Feeldog raised an eyebrow, taking his earphones out.

"Nervous for the race?" Raehwan asked him.

Feeldog scoffed and looked in front of him, finding himself looking at you.

Keeping his eyes fixed on you, he answered. "Not even a little bit." Feeldog stood up from his chair and swiftly walked towards you.

You gulped as he got closer to you. Yesterdays events replayed in your mind with each step he took. The way you felt around Baram, Baby Yongmin, Feeldog together with that girl, and your decision to break the promise.

At the sudden thought of the promise, you couldn't help but feel guilty. Feeldog was supposed to be your boyfriend, but you betrayed him and decided to break the promise. The fact that you felt weird around Baram made you feel even more frustrated.

To make things worse, you felt the same way around Feeldog as well.

*What the hell is wrong with me?* You thought as Feeldog stopped in front of you.

Feeldog stared down at you just as you looked up at him.

You stared deep into his eyes. *Why do I feel this way around him too? Shouldn't I hate him?* If it was possible, your heart would explode from how fast it was beating.

Suddenly, Feeldog grabbed your wrist and pulled you into a hug. Your eyes widened in surprise.

"Hey..." He whispered into your ear, wrapping his arms around you tightly.

You breathed in, staying frozen in place and letting him hug you. You were at a loss for both actions and words. You bit your lip, hesitating on whether or not you should return the hug.

"Sorry for not messaging you for awhile. I was busy with personal issues." He continued, his breath tickling the side of your neck.

Feeldog noticed a few of the students around the room turn to look at the two of you, but he ignored them. Instead, Feeldog pulled your body closer to him as he leaned down to rest his chin on your shoulder. He could feel your body tense up at his gesture. A small smile formed on his face.

*Oh what the hell. He's technically my boyfriend.* You slowly wrapped an arm around his waist and over his back, giving him a small pat of encouragement.

Feeldog's smile widened as he nuzzled his cheek on your shoulder, letting your scent fill his nose.

"Cousin in the room!" Raehwan yelled out, pulling Feeldog off of you.

Feeldog chuckled at Raehwan and shook his head. On the other hand, you softly pouted at the sudden loss of warmth. You could still feel the tingles on your neck from Feeldog's breathing.

A middle-aged man entered the room and looked towards you and Raehwan.

"Raehwan? I don't remember you being a part of this team." The man narrowed his eyes at Raehwan while he looked at you suspiciously. "And who is she?"

You coughed while Raehwan wrapped an arm around your shoulder.

"Sorry Coach Min. We just wanted to wish Feeldog a 'good luck'. We'll be heading out now." Raehwan smiled at the coach before dragging you out of the room.

You glanced at Feeldog one last time, seeing him nod slightly at you with a small smile on his face.

You stared at Raehwan as he lead you towards the indoor field and where the bleachers were located.

"You and Feeldog were getting pretty affectionate in there." Raehwan said as the two of you walked side by side.

You looked away, embarrassed. You could feel yourself blushing at his statement.

"I would be pretty pissed right now," Raehwan slightly paused before continuing his sentence. "but I didn't want to ruin the mood. It looked like the two of you were comfortable."

You tilted your head to the side as you looked at him. "Comfortable? What do you mean?"

Raehwan smiled. "If I didn't know about the plan, I would think the two of you were a real couple that was madly in love with each other."

You blinked at him before looking away, a quiet sigh escaping your lips. You were glad that you and Feeldog looked realistic, but upset that being a fake couple was all you'd ever be.

Raehwan and you reached the bleachers where a few people were already seated. The two of you found empty seats where you could clearly see the racers.

You looked around the field until your eyes landed on Feeldog. He was busy doing last minute stretches as he and the other students formed a circle around the coach.

"I never imagined Feeldog to be a racer." You said, staring at Feeldog as he listened intently to what the coach was saying.

Raehwan chuckled. "No one ever does. Feeldog is pretty good at running though. He's a natural."

You nodded in understanding, watching as a man stood in the middle of the field with a microphone in his hand.

*I'm guessing he's the MC for this event.* You watched as he tightly held onto the microphone with one hand while holding a stack of index cards in the other.

"Hello everyone and welcome to this years track-and-field competition!" He happily spoke into the microphone, catching the audiences attention. "This competition is between the different high schools in Seoul with impressive runners and athletes."

You noticed a group of people fill the seats to your right, leaving empty spaces in between you and them. You turned to look at them when one girl caught your attention.

*It's her! She's the girl Feeldog was with yesterday!* You continued to stare at her as she took her seat with a huge smile on her face.

You pouted and looked back towards the field. *She probably is his real girlfriend...*

"The competition will now begin!" The MC yelled into the microphone as he gestured to the racers that were beginning to line up in their respective lanes. "Today, we will be starting with the 100m race!"

The racers stretched their legs one last time in their lanes, serious expressions on their faces.

"In the first lane, we have Lee Minhyuk from Cube Academy!"

A guy with an incredibly cute smile bowed towards the audience, giving a small wave afterwards to the group of people who were cheering his name.

You unconsciously stared at his attractive face. *He's really good-looking...* You bit your lip at the thought.

Raehwan looked at you, a smirk forming on his face. "Yah, Kim Jihyo. You have a boyfriend already."

You pouted at him. "I should've met Minhyuk-ssi first." You jokingly stated as you shook your head.

Raehwan laughed and ruffled your hair, turning his attention back to the field. You giggled and looked down at the field as well.

"In the 5th lane, we have Oh Gwangsuk from BS High!"

Raehwan stood up and frantically cheered once Feeldog's name was announced. You laughed and stood up as well, cheering Feeldog's name just as loud as Raehwan.

Feeldog bowed and waved at the audience, a smile on his face. He looked at you for a second before moving his eyes beside you.

You looked to your right and saw the girl happily cheering as well, a huge smile on her face.

You couldn't help but feel down all of a sudden. It hurt you knowing that his real girlfriend was here, cheering him on just like you. Even though you knew it was selfish, you wished that she wasn't there and it was only you cheering Feeldog on. You would feel as if you were his real girlfriend, giving him strength to win the race.

*If he wins the race, it's probably because she's here cheering him on. Not me.* You silently sulked to yourself. *I guess I'll just have to cheer louder so that he notices me too.*

Raehwan pulled you to sit down, a concerned expression on his face. "Are you okay?" He asked.

You nodded and faked a smile. "I'm fine! Just a little overwhelmed." You tried your best to look realistic.

Raehwan gave you a suspicious look before shrugging and watching the race.

You focused on the race as the referee began to count down, lifting the start gun above his head. The sound of the 'bang' got you excited.

You watched as Feeldog ran like a bullet to the finish line on the other side of the field, passing the line first.

You jumped up and cheered his name, clapping your hands like a seal. Raehwan followed you, also cheering for his best friend.

You noticed the girl also stand up, jumping up and down with her friends. They cheered his name loudly in unison, catching Feeldog's attention and earning a wave from him.

You heard the girl giggle before she sat back down in her seat, her friends following afterwards. She was busy whispering with the girl she sat beside, keeping her eyes on Feeldog as he walked back to his team.

You couldn't help but feel annoyed and angry. *You have to cheer louder Jihyo! Gwangsuk is your boyfriend right now. Not hers.* You thought to yourself, determination running through you.

During the next few races, you tried your best to cheer louder than her. You would even force Raehwan to wave his arms around in order for Feeldog to notice the both of you. But after each race, he would only turn to look at the other girl.

You could feel your energy slowly depleting as you noticed him forgetting about you in the audience. Though instead of fully giving up on cheering, you continued with the same determination.

Slowly, you forgot about the girl that was a few feet away from you.

Every time Feeldog won or passed the finish line, you would cheer as if he won a gold medal in the olympics.

Instead of cheering because you were supposedly his girlfriend, you were cheering as his friend.

Feeldog heard you cheering his name for the hundredth time but didn't bother to look at you, only seeing you from the corner of his eyes. He tried his best to hold back the smile that was threatening to form on his face.

He ran back towards his team and stopped to drink some water.

"Your girlfriend is pretty excited up there." One of his male teammates stated, pointing up at you. "I wish I had a girlfriend like that. She's been cheering your name every time."

Feeldog chuckled and nodded. "She's like that."

"Well, she's one of a kind. Don't let her go." His teammate gave him a pat on the shoulder before turning away to speak to their coach.

Feeldog looked up at you, seeing you chatting with Raehwan. The way you cheered his name was echoing in his ears, making him happy and less tired.

*She's all mine.* He smiled at the thought, looking away from you just when he noticed you turning your head to look at him.

Suddenly, another thought entered his mind, causing him to frown and look at his water bottle with slightly angry eyes.

"Or is she?" He whispered, anger slowly boiling up inside of him.
