My first day in college is officially over.

Sook joo, my new found friend, is kind enough to lend me a pair of shorts I could change into. She looks really cute almost like a life size anime character. She’s petite, has long wavy curls and has pretty eyes. The most amusing about this girl is how naïve and honest she could get.

“Unnie, do you know how those little things come out?” she asked pointing at the vending machine.

“Which one of those do you want?”

She pouted and pointed at the some random rainbow cookies in the machine. “That one unnie.”

I smiled at her and inserted a coin inside the machine and pushed the button for the cookies. When it came out Sook joo clapped her hands in amazement.

“That was like magic unnie! Can I do it too?” she insisted with doe eyes.

“Sure.” I uneasily replied.

A few minutes passed and she kept on putting coins and receiving food in front of her.

“Sook joo?”

“Yes, unnie?”

“Can you eat all that?” I said pointing at the pile.

“Omo?” she whined. “Sorry unnie, did I buy too much already?”

I nodded.

I swear, I could almost see tears in her eyes. “It’s alright, we can never have enough can’t we?”

Then she smiled. “Unnie..” she hugged me tight. “I didn’t know college will be this fun.”

“Yeah,” I tried to push her slowly. “See you tomorrow then, I have to go home.”

“Already?”

“Well we can always hang out again tomorrow.” I carefully told her

“Of course unnie,” she giggled. “Would you like me to drop you off your house?”

I shook my head. “No worries Sook joo, I have to go to the supermarket to buy something first so maybe next time.”

“But unnie?” she whined

I was saved by her cellphone when it rang in the tune of captain keroro.

“Yoboseyo? Oppa?” she smiled.

“Nee, yes, yes,” now she’s almost in tears. “Yes oppa.” She pushed the end button and turned to me. “Unnie, I’ll be going now, see you tomorrow.”

“Are you alright?” I asked her out of curiosity.

“Yes, unnie. I’m fine.” Playing with her fingernails. “Oppa just called and told me not to bother you too much. I’ll be going now. Bye unnie.” She hugged me again and ran the opposite direction waving her hands.
