THIRTY NINE
XOXOCHAPTER 39
Hana.
Everything has been going pretty well.
Sonya and Kris –and the rest of his friends- have been on good terms, she's introduced me to her husband and I honestly don't know why Fang Yin would mistake Kris as her father because Kris and Mr. Chun's face aren't close; anyway, Kris is still cold towards the Chairman, they're both cold towards each other actually.
Especially when they're in the same room. Sigh.
Good news, I've also learned to grow comfortable around Kris! Accomplishment! He's different when we're together. We don't talk about work yet we never seem to run out of topics, we avoid subjects related to the past and the family, though. But I'm so curious about his past!
“Coffee ~” a hand poked through my door as I look up from my desk. Kai. I chuckled and told him to come in, a smile was painted on his face and he walked over to my desk “Thank you” I said as I grabbed the cup from his hand and he sat himself down on the chair infront of my desk. “Ah ~ I missed this” he breathes out after taking a sip “How long has it been since we both had coffee?” he asks and I raise three of my fingers “Three weeks”
Wow, almost a month... Kris has been taking up so much of my free time. I suddenly realize as I set aside everything and enjoy my cup of coffee. “Ah right, dates with Mr. Wu have been getting in the way” he chuckles sarcastically and takes another sip of his coffee “Mm!” he sits right up “Chanyeol and Sehun are leaving tomorrow for Hawaii”
“Really?” Aigo, lucky. I pout; I could really use a vacation but sadly, I am not entitled to one because I honestly think I haven't worked hard enough for it. Sigh. I set my cup down on the table and got up to get a folder
Kris.
Ugh. I threw off the folders onto my desk. So much to be done... a low groan escaped my lips as I ran a hand through my hair and leaned back on my chair. There's been so many things on my table lately and the reason being a certain someone –Chairman- is here. Sigh. Two more weeks Kris, hang in there.
I got up from my seat and walked over to the mini bar to get a cold bottle of water; Yes, normally it would be something infested with alcohol but then my girlfriend disapproves of my choice of drinks. Tsk. The perks of having an innocent girlfriend. I caught a glance of my watch and swallow the drink.
2:55 PM
Hm... I wonder how she's doing. I close the bottle and toss it in the trash can before I walk out of my office and walk towards Hana's door. As I was approaching her office, I heard a thud
“Aaah!” the hairs on the back of my neck stood at her little shriek “Hana!” yet I frowned when I heard the familiar voice. A low growl escaped my lips; another thud followed “Aaah!” my cheeks grew red and a million thoughts came running into my head. I stood frozen with the knob in my hand. “Ugh. Damn it, hold on... you're wet already”
WHAT THE ?! I quickly turned the knob and walked in.
“Kris!” Kai and Hana both exclaimed in surprise; Kris stood with a look of disbelief on his face. Hana was on the floor, there was a cup of spilled coffee on the floor, Hana's white blouse had turned brown and Kai was on his feet with a handkerchief in hand. The three of them exchanged looks.
Kris's grip on the knob tightened, his other hand closing to a tight fist. “Kai...” Kris's eyes went dark all of a sudden; Kai blinked his eyes at the elder one “Get... out...”
Kai took a quick glance at Hana before walking out of the office and Kris slammed the door making Hana flinch a bit. Kris took steps towards her and she sat frozen on the ground. She shuddered seeing his tightly closed fists and no doubt... Hana, your boyfriend is angry. Gulp. But even so, when he was angry. He's still so handsome though –AISH! Hana! What the hell?!
“Hana...” she swallowed hard as her name left his lips.
He then bent down and took out his handkerchief from his pocket before he began to wipe off the coffee on her neck. He swallowed hard when he slowly lowered down and paused just before her chest. Hana was flustered. “Can I?” he asked. Hana blinked her eyes
“I... I think I can take it fro-from here” she said, taking the handkerchief from Kris's hands and wiped herself off. Kris bit back a curse and got up, offering a hand to her. Hana took his hand and he pulled her up “Are you okay?” he asked in a blank tone and she nodded her head with a small smile.
He sneaked a glance at her; Damn... for a , she sure has a nice pair of--- Kris cleared his throat, looking away. “What was Kai doing here?” he finally asks after a period of silence; Hana continues to wipe off the coffee “Oh, we just had coffee” she explains briefly, letting out a sigh every now and then. The coffee had stained her white blouse.
“You sure about that?” he asked, frowning. He looked her in the eyes, keeping his own from falling from her face. Hana gave him a pout “Yeah... trust me, will you?” he looks at her for a moment before heading for the door again; he leaves without a word and Hana sighs.
What's with him? She bit her lower lip and was about to go after him when the door opened again and Kris came in; Click. He tossed her a white dress shirt then leaned back on the door with his hands behind his back “K-- Mr. Wu, what's th --”
“Change” He told her. Hana looked down at the item in her hand before looking at him again “Y-you're gonna watch?” she blushes. Kris keeps a blank face on and suggests “You can turn around if you'd like”
Hana swallows hard and slowly turns around before then began to her stained blouse with shaking hands. Aish, this is so uncomfortable. She pulled on the stained material, tucking it out from her pencil skirt and takes one last breath. She hesitated.
Before she could make up her mind, a pair of hands landed on her shoulders and her whole body stiffened as she heard Kris's deep, shallow breathing behind her. His aura radiating heat and tension. Slowly, he slid off the material from her shoulder and Hana bit back a sound from escaping her lips. He was doing so slow... so sensually, as if he was savoring every passing second of the moment.
The clothing stopped on her elbows; he reached over one hand and took the clean dress shirt from her hands and tossed it casually to hang on his shoulder. He pulled back her arms and took the material off, cold air made her shudder.
He bit his lower lip at the sight of her. The small snap of her black brassiere was tempting his fingers. Kris... he called to himself. Calm yourself... “K-Kris?” he closed his eyes as she stammered calling out his name. He swallowed hard before opening his eyes again and held the clean shirt up behind her, inserting her hands on the right holes before slowly pushing it up to her shoulders. He took one step closer, his chest almost bumping on her back.
Hana's arms moved, she was about to button up the buttons when his hands grabbed hers and her heart just seemed to have stopped. “Let me...” he breathed and took her hands away from the shirt, replacing them with his and slowly buttoned it, starting from the very bottom.
Kris took his time, slowly working his way up. God, she's so tempting... he swallowed the groan.
Knock. Knock. ... who the hell could that be?! Hana jumped away from him and buttoned up the rest before answering “W-who is it?” Kris glared at the door but kept quiet.
“Chen! Kris is not in his office, Hana-ssi ~” he whined on the other side of the door. Kris slapped a hand to his face; Why the does this guy always pick the right timing? He groaned. Hana shot her attention towards Kris who took his seat and gestured his head towards the door. She gave him a nod, the shirt was big for her but it beats having her wear a wet and stained blouse. She walked towards the door and opened it.
Chen's eyes widened as soon as the door was opened and it widened some more when he saw Kris sitting in the room
“Did you guys have in here?!” he shrieked.
The two shot their heads at him, their eyes widened as they yelled “NO!”
Chen help up his hands in defend and walked in, closing the door behind him; he had an envelope in hand, he turned to Kris “Anyway... here” he hands the envelope to Kris, who stood up from the chair to take it and tore it open, taking out the contents. Kris frowned and Hana grew curious, Chen went serious “What do you want me to do?” he asked Kris.
The CEO crumpled the paper in his hands before tossing it aside “Fire them”
“All twenty of them?” Hana's eyes widened at the number mentioned and Kris nodded his head “W-what?” she blurted out, her presence then getting highlighted. She turned to Kris “What'd they do?”
“Hana” Chen calls for her attention “If someone decides to do a petition for you to get fired, you'd fire them before your is burned” he gives her a smile but Hana only blinks her eyes. Kris sighed. “You know what to tell Sehun” Chen gives a nod before bidding Hana goodbye and leaves.
She turns to Kris “Is it really necessary to fire them?”
Kris's face was serious, he was frowning and all the warmth in him had just vanished into thin air. She swallowed hard “Hana, I know what I'm doing, okay? Now...” he steers away the subject “Dinner's at my condo later on”
Hana's eyes widened “What?”
“See you at seven, Ms. Kim” he ruffled her hair before walking out the door.
Why do I have a strange feeling about this? She swallows hard at the thought.
