CHAPTER 24

I'm supposed to be forgetting you. Kris tightened his arms around her some more. “I walked away, remember?” he closed his eyes. She bit her lower lip as her arms fell limp on her sides.

“Don't go...” Kris hugged her tighter “Please Hana”

Hana... she called out to herself as she shut her eyes closed. Escape... while you still can.

But here was Kris. The almighty Kris Wu asking her to stay. Asking for her not to go and never in a million years did she ever picture this moment to happen. Never had she even imagined someone like him to say such things.

And never had she felt so secure. “Mr. Wu...”

He didn't want to let go but Hana was slowly pushing him off. He swallowed hard. She smiled at him and looked down on the floor for a moment before meeting his eyes once again “I have to get these to Mr. Huang” she pressed the folders onto her chest “It's still office hours and I have yet to time out...” Kris looked away and Hana chuckled.

“Thank you, sir...” he looked at her once again and her smile turned soft “For letting me keep the memories” His expression softened; Hana turned around “Send me a message if you won't be able to come in to the office, sir; you had me worried there” Kris heard the main door open then close.

“Ace...” he stood frozen on his spot “Papa's PA is confusing”

Suho.

Ah, it feels good to be back. France was quite a nice trip, the best one I've had so far since there wasn't much to do there and I had time to relax. Sometimes, I think Kris hates traveling. He always uses the excuse that he can't leave the office and such.

“Excuse me sir” I turn around and saw around ten delivery guys; “Yes?”

“What floor is Ms. Kim Hana's office?” Hana? “Uh... 30th floor” he gives me a thanks and a nod.

I stepped aside and they made their way to the elevators, occupying them. People around me were staring aswell; What the hell? They were all holding baskets and bouquets of pink roses.

“What's that about?”

Gah. I jump and saw Xiumin beside me, sipping on his cup of coffee. When did he get here? God, he's so stealthy lately. I put a hand over my heart and breathe out, I shrug my shoulders as the elevators closed. “I don't know...” Xiumin puffed up his cheeks and hummed in wonder. Then he snapped his fingers and smiled “Ah! I think I know what it is!”

“What?” I raised a brow.

“Kai must be courting Hana!” WHAT? I've been gone for a few freakin' days and I come back to this? This is all too fast and besides, I think Kris disapproves of this. Other than the fact that he may like Hana, he's warned Kai countless of times to take his personal romantic affairs outside of the office. I shook my head. “Wait... does Kris know about this?”

Xiumin sighed. “Probably; Damn, Kai's got it bad for her” he sipped on his coffee.

Sigh. Even though I'm used to Kai's 'do-everything-to-get-the-girl-he-likes' attitude, I've never imagined that he'd do such a thing as this. Well, maybe because usually women fall for him in a snap. Is Hana really this special?

“Xiumin ---” I turn to look at him but he was no longer there. Huh? I scratched the back of my head. Where the hell did he go? Aish. I heard my phone beep and I took it out of my pocket, there was a message from Xiumin:

Had to go. Catching a boat to Jeju :)

Take note of what will happen, araso? Kekeke ~

I raised a brow. Really Xiumin? Tsk.

Hana.

Ring. Ring. “Hello?”

“Send me a cup of coffee in my office, Ms. Kim” my heart skipped a beat all of a sudden and I nod my head “Yes sir” Kris hung up. Breathe Hana. Calm down. I put the phone down and get away from my desk, leaving my paper works to prepare his highness' coffee.

To be quite truthful, it's the first time I'll be facing Kris since two days ago. I've been anxious about going to work after that day but I was also nervous. I mean, I don't know and I can't tell if things would be comfortable between us both or awkward. What if things get awkward? Aigo, I hate awkward silences. I stir the liquid inside the cup and give a sigh. I really shouldn't expect, he's probably back to his old self and everything that has happened may just have been the after-effect of alcohol. I pick up the cup and make my way towards his office, knocking lightly before opening the door and poked my head inside.

“Sir?” I saw him on his feet, glaring at some papers on his hand. His coat hung on the back rest of his leather chair, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbow and his tie was loosened. He looked rather stressed. “Put it on my table, Ms. Kim” he mumbled and I nod my head. I closed the door behind me and walked towards his desk, setting down the cup.

I swallowed hard. Gosh, why does he have to look this handsome? GAH! Hana! I mentally slap myself. I give a bow and walk towards the door. Yup, he's back to his old --- “Ms. Kim...” I immediately turned around, flustering as I realized that I looked too eager. “Y-Yes sir?”

Kris walked back to his chair and sat down, he tossed the papers on his desk and reached out for his cup of coffee. He took a sip. Dear Lord, those lips. I bit my lower lip. “I'll call you in two minutes or so...” I raised a brow in confusion “Sir?”

He shooed me away with his hand and I quickly exit his office. That was weird... Hm. Maybe someone will call him and then he'll call me about it. Yup. Sigh. Ofcourse.

I walked back to my office. “Hana” I turned around and saw Suho; a smile appeared on my face as I bowed and welcomed him back. Tao said he's been in France just a few days ago and I swear I was oozing with jealousy when I heard about it. Sigh. Maybe someday. “How was France, sir?” he gave me a chuckle and shrugged his shoulders “It was fine... uhm, I was just curious...” he starts and I wait for him to ask “Is Kai courting you?”

My eyes widened “Bwo?!”

“Pfft. I wish I was ~” came a childish voice. We both turn and saw Kai with a sarcastic look on his face. He walked towards us and placed an arm around my shoulders; he chuckled and turned to Suho “Hyung, can you believe it? She rejected me before I could even do so” I fluster.

Suho had a confused look on his face “Then who sent you the flowers?”

Flowers? I look at him, equally confused. We both looked at Kai, he held his hands up in defense “Hey don't look at me, but if you did allow me to court then I may have...” he batters his eyes innocently.

“I didn't receive any flowers, sir” I informed him. The two of them stare at my office; I walked towards the doors, suddenly feeling curious. I turned the door knob and slowly pushed the doors open.

My breathing seemed to have stopped all of a sudden and my eyes widen.

Pink roses filled my office. They were everywhere.

“Whoa...” Kai mumbled. Suho must be equally shocked. Gulp. I walked inside, the two of them stayed by the door, looking around the flower-filled space. I picked up the bouquet from my desk and took out the card.

My heart raced and my cheeks burned:

Thank you, Hana.

- Kris

Hana... what... I... I can't think straight.

Ring. Ring. I blink my eyes and pick up the phone with my free-hand “H-Hello?”

“I hope Kai won't mind but I'll be taking you out for lunch today”

“Welcome Mr. Wu; the reserved room?” Kris nodded his head and Hana follows quietly behind him. The employee leads them to a lavish private room of the restaurant and leaves, sliding the door close behind him. Kris clears his throat, catching Hana's attention as he pulls up a seat for her. Hana swallowed hard and sat down. “Thank you, sir”

Kris took his seat and silence fell upon them. He was quietly going over the menu while Hana awkwardly sat in her seat. She took a quick glance at him. He doesn't seem mad. Doesn't seem irritated either... Kris looked up from the menu and their eyes met for a moment. Hana quickly looked down on the silverware on the table.

“Relax Hana...” he told her but it didn't help at all. It only made her tense up some more. A sigh escaped his lips and he set down the menu, leaning back on his seat; she bit her lower lip and looked at him “C-can I ask you something, sir?”

“Sure...” he said, starting to drum his fingers on the table. “Why... did you do these?”

Kris looked away, all of a sudden he looked like a little kid who had been caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. He cleared his throat. “I wanted to thank you for what you did” he coughed to the side “For taking care of me” a smile slowly made its way on Hana's lips.

“You really didn't have to go through the trouble, sir” Kris swallowed hard. The door slides open and the waiter comes back to take the orders, when he left again. Hana turned to him with a curious stare “What?” he asks, his brows narrowing a bit. All of a sudden, she reached over the table, put her two fingers close to the corners of his lips and pushed upward. Kris leaned his head back and gave her a funny stare. Hana smiled brightly seeing the small curve on his lips.

“What are you doing?” he asked her, his hands grabbing hers. “Smiling really suits you” she brightly chimes.

The two of them fell quiet for a moment; Hana's cheeks turned red when she realized she was staring back at him. She was about to pull her hand away when Kris pulled her in and leaned himself forward.

Once again, his lips were on top of hers.

Hana was first to pull away. She stood with shock filled eyes as Kris's hands still held hers. He swallowed hard upon realizing what he had just done “H-Hana...”

Hana blinked her eyes as slowly she took her hands away and sat back down on her seat. She hung her head low. Kris took hard breaths. The two of them sat in silence for awhile; Kris was first to lift his head and looked at her “Hana...”

She didn't look up.

“Sorry” he mumbled.

Hana swallowed the lump in and looked up with a bright smile on her face, she chuckled and scratched the back of her neck “A-ani! It's fine sir! Please don't be sorry” she insisted. Lunch went by quietly; Kris didn't know what to say. Hana was quiet too.

“Sir...” she pauses from eating. Kris doesn't look up “Hm?”

“Since we're not at work... can I call you, Kris?”

Kris finally looks at her and she smiles.
