What Is Love

Minhee's POV

The next morning, I stared at the text message, my heart beating faster and faster each and every second that I stared at it.

I'm trying to tell you that I like you...

I'm trying to tell you that I like you...

I'm trying to tell you that I like you...

I didn't know what I was feeling. Maybe I really did like him. Maybe, somehow, I had fallen for him and everything that Baekhyun had told me was true. It was all fate, wasn't it? Is it not?..

"I don't understand." Baekhyun shakes his head. "Why out of no where? Why, now?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" I tried to keep a positive note, but Baekhyun's facial expression was not giving me a good feeling.

"Guys don't just out of no where tell a girl that he likes her. If he likes her, he'll tell her face-to-face." Baekhyun tried to argue.

"Not all guys are like that, Baek," I sighed. "Some of them are different. Maybe Jongin's one of them." I shrugged.

"Something's not right about him," Baekhyun shook his head.

"Baek," I frowned. "This is the first guy that I've actually liked. Can you be a little bit more happy for me?"

Baekhyun sighed and nodded his head, "Sorry," he apologized. "Chanyeol and I have been getting into a lot of arguments, lately. We're not really getting along." he frowned.

I patted his back and hugged him, "You guys will make it through, won't you?" I asked.

Baekhyun let out another long sigh and shrugged, "I don't know. Out of the whole year and a half that we've been dating, the both of us have never really argued like this." he said.

"I think he's seeing someone else." Baekhyun frowned. "He comes home every day and smells like perfume, but claims that it's from work." Baekhyun's voice cracks as he explains.

I knew what he was talking about. Probably, the hardest part about being gay, lesbian, or bi-ual, was worrying about your partner all of a sudden leaving you and realizing that they liked the opposite .

There were countless times where Baekhyun would cry to me, telling me that he was afraid that Chanyeol was going to leave him. He would tell me that Chanyeol wasn't happy about being gay, and he would tell me that he thinks that Chanyeol's starting to realize that he wants to be with girls and not guys.

"Have you talked to him about it?" I asked.

Baekhyun nodded his head, "I-" Baekhyun's tears started to roll down and off his cheek.

"I do." he repeated. "But every time we talk about it, he gets offensive and tells me that I'm just assuming things and I don't trust him enough." Baekhyun cried.

"I understand," I nodded, patting Baekhyun's back and letting him cry his heart out. He needed to let out his emotions. He couldn't just bottle it all up. Being his best friend, I wouldn't let him bottle it all up.

"Let's-" a buzzing came from my phone, interrupting me. I quickly grabbed my phone and I already knew who the text was from. My heart still beat abnormally fast and I would still squeal and get excited every time he texted me.

I stared at my phone, and the text flashed up on the screen.

From: Jonginnie

Goodmorning, pretty. Let's meet up, today. (:

I stared at the text message and realized that I still haven't replied to what he had said from last night, and a pinch of guilt rushed over me. This time, I quickly replied.

To: Jonginnie

Yeah, let's. Pick me up around eleven?

From: Jonginnie

Perfect. (:

Baekhyun looked at me and I realized that he had stopped crying. He was actually looking furious at the moment.

"Something wrong?" I asked him.

Baekhyun crossed his arms and frowned, "You're leaving?" he asked.

I frowned and nodded my head, "Jongin wants to meet up. I'm sorry," I whined.

Baekhyun shook his head and scoffed, "You know, it wouldn't hurt to say no to him every once in awhile? You've been excluding me a lot, lately." Baekhyun sighed.

Since I knew that Baekhyun and Chanyeol were going through some things, I felt guilty for leaving him behind while I went out with Jongin. I sighed to myself.

"You wanna come with me and Jongin?" I asked.

Baekhyun denied the offer, "Pass." he said. "I'd rather stay home and be bitter."

I looked at him weirdly and groaned, "Yah!" I scolded. "It's not like you and Chanyeol are broken up or anything, alright? You two are just fighting. Don't lose hope so quickly, okay?" I yelled at him.

"Just go change and get ready for your date," Baekhyun got up. "I'll go home, now." he said.

Before I could stop him from doing so, Baekhyun was already out the door. I groaned to myself.

Author's POV

"Where are we going?" Minhee asked.

Jongin flashed her a smile and pursed his lips, "It's a surprise." he whispered.

Minhee scoffed and rolled her eyes at him, but she couldn't help but smile.

When the two arrived at the place, Minhee quickly got out of the car. She looked around and tried to remember why the place looked so familiar to her, and then it hit her. It's the old dance studio.

"Why are we here?" Minhee asked Jongin, and Jongin smiled mischieviously.

"I'm gonna teach you the rest of that dance," Jongin said as he grabbed her arm, leading the girl inside the dance studio.

Minhee couldn't help the smile that splattered on her face as he dragged her inside. Jongin turned to her, showing her his hand. She stared at it in confusion, trying to ask what he was doing.

"iPod. Hand it over," he smirked.

Minhee knowingly nodded as she took out her iPod from her back pocket and handed it to him. She watched as he entered her passcode, making her stare at him in disbelief.

"How did yo-"

"The numbers on the door," Jongin pointed over at the numbers, and she blushed madly. "You're really obvious, you know that?" he smiled.

Minhee knew that her face was probably as red as a tomato by the time Jongin had plugged her iPod in and started playing the song. Jongin pinched her cheeks lightly as he walked over to her. He faced the girl, taking in all of her features.

She could see his eyes suddenly changing, and then there he was, again. The mysterious boy that she had watched from the window. The mysterious boy that oozed charisma. The mysterious, energetic, passionate, boy that she used to stalk.

There he was, in front of her.

She knew that she was never supposed to let herself talk to him, but here she was, a couple months later. She had made two worlds collide. Two worlds that were never supposed to meet and greet. Two worlds that weren't compatible, but ended up being together.

The music played, and she listened carefully, trying to remember the steps. She remembered how she had the first two parts perfected. She followed Jongin's steps carefully, dancing along to the music.

She remembered seeing Jongin dancing to this song with such feelings and emotions. She couldn't help but feel a little bit envious, knowing that he had choreographed this song specifically for another person, and was now dancing it with her. Somehow, it just felt so wrong to her. But at the same time, it also felt so right.

The both of them made it through the first two parts with ease, and then came the third verse of the song. Minhee felt herself getting uneasy, and Jongin could sense it.

"Follow me," he told her as his grip on her hands tightened. He moved her body around, guiding it easily and pulled her in closer to him by the waist.

She couldn't help but stare at him. His tan skin, the glistening layer of sweat, the pink and plumpy lips, the chocolate brown eyes, and the dark-hair that stuck to his forehead.

She took her hand and brushed his bangs away, and right when the song stopped at the words 'What is love?', she felt Jongin's soft lips press against hers and her eyes widened in shock.

His soft lips were still pressed against hers, and his grip on her waist tightened. Minhee didn't hesitate to kiss back after realizing what was going on, and she smiled back when she felt Jongin smiling during the kiss.

She bit Jongin's bottom lip and then pulled away, laughing at his shocked expression.

"That hurt," Jongin pouted.

She shrugged and then wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him as tightly as she could, afraid that if she let go, she would lose him forever.

"Hey, pretty," Jongin said. She looked at him in the eyes, smiling as she tilted her head.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked.

Minhee swore that felt her heart stop right then and there as she managed to nod her head and swallow the lump that had been slowly forming in . Could anything be more perfect?
