Creeping
Office Romance (?)"Oh my God, how long have you been standing there?!" I jumped in my seat.
"About five minutes and fourty-two, no, fourty-three seconds now." He looked at his watch for emphasis.
He was standing outside my office, hands on the glass panels as he stared at me, his forehead touching the glass.
"You're such a creep." I held my chest in an effort to calm my wild heartbeat.
"Sorry," he shrugged, dimple showing mischievously. He didn't mean it one bit. "You and me, tomorrow, Seoul Philharmonic. I'll pick you up, okay?" He brandished two tickets as he leaned against the glass door.
I immediately sat up straighter. "Where'd you get those?" I gasped. "I thought those had been sold out a month ago!"
"I have connections," he smiled in satisfaction.
I couldn’t help but squeal, jumping up to give him a suffocating hug. “You, my dear Lay, are the best. You know that, right?”
“Argh, you’re killing me,” he coughed a few times as I broke away. He was smiling anyway.
I squealed again. “You just seriously made my day!”
“I know,” he smirked before heading back to his own office.
Jiwon was immediately on me. “Are you sure you guys aren’t dating?”
I chuckled. “Yep. As sure as can be.”
“He said he was going to pick you up.”
“Yes, that’s what I heard.” I made my way back to my desk.
“He was going to pick you up,” she repeated as if I didn’t hear it the first time. “That’s called going on a date.” She’s jealous. I couldn’t help but laugh. She’s so perceptive when it comes to everything else, but Lay made her lose all sense.
“It’s called hanging out with my best friend,” I stuck my tongue at her.
“No, it’s called going out of his way to be with you.” She looked dejected.
“Jiwon-ah,” I smiled at her. “Believe me when I say that Lay doesn’t like me that way. He’d probably be grossed out at the thought.” Especially since I’m trying to set you guys up.
She only looked at me skeptically.
“Lay and I are not dating. Don’t you believe me?” I grinned at her.
“Of course they’re not dating,” a sudden deep voice interrupted.
I couldn’t help rolling my eyes. What’s he doing in this part of the office?
Jiwon immediately bowed in reverence to the great Mr. Park. I wanted to gag.
“Don’t they teach you not to interrupt conversations in kindergarten?” I am not letting him ruin my mood. Don’t ask me where I got the sudden confidence to be sarcastic.
Chanyeol looked taken aback. “Oh, sorry. Just overheard the conversation.”
“I guess they didn’t tell you it’s bad to eavesdrop either, huh?” Oh man, I’m on a roll. I wanted to give myself a high-five.
“What’s up with the snarky attitude?” he scoffed. “I thought we agreed to be friends.”
I shrugged. I can’t. Not when you’re making it so darned difficult. I’m tired of having to play nice all the time.
“Why are you even here?”
“I was just stretching.”
“All the way to the other end of the floor?” I raised an eyebrow.
He shrugged, walking away. Okay. That’s weird.
Jiwon looked in between the two of us. “You guys are on speaking terms again?”
“I don’t remember ever not being in speaking terms with him.”
She nodded. “I guess. Wow. You guys are just…” she was at a loss for words. That’s new.
The phone rang on her desk. “You might want to answer that.”
“Right.” She walked out of my office.
My mind made its way back to Chanyeol. I wonder why he just suddenly appeared like that.
-
“Why are you in my office?” Everyone seems to be creeping on me today.
“My cubicle’s under construction.” The mask is back on. He set his things down on a chair.
“That’s new.” I laughed. Cubicle under construction? What’s to construct?
He shrugged. “They told me to stay in here in the meantime.”
The boss is seriously dumping a lot of things on my plate. “Alright, then. Make yourself comfortable.”
“Mind if I bring in a desk?” Sehun asked, even though he already knew the answer.
“No,” I raised an eyebrow at him. Hm, I guess I’ll have more opportunities to tabulate how many times he smiled in a day.
Let the games begin.

Nothing much to move the plot forward, I know. But feel free to make conclusions about the conversations. I really like showing instead of telling when I write a story. Nah. Who am I kidding? This is a filler chapter. Lol I'm just updating because I don't want y'all to have to wait for one.
While I try to get rid of this awful writer's block, I'd like to see what analysis you guys come up with. And if you come up with something brilliant, I might just use it in future chapters. Hahaha I really want to hear what you guys think about this. Be more vocal! Comment your thoughts. I love hearing and responding to them. ^_^
