Jessica’s POV

Today was my birthday, and I just turn 24, and the past years had good and bad memories that will always marked on my being. Every day since the start of April, I received gifts from someone, I’m not surprised since I know whom it came from, I know it was from DongHae but these won’t let my decision change but  sometimes I just wanted to give up and run to him but still I’m lacking the ability to forget and start again.

“Sica?” I heard SooYoung called me from the outside

“come in…” I said while browsing something in my phone

I heard the door opened and I saw Soo with a pink Chanel paper bag 

“this is for you, a gift again for your birthday…” she said as she put the paper bag on my bed

I just nodded and she left with a heavy sighed

When she was gone, s lowly crawl towards the paper bag and I slowly opened it. It was a flat shoes, I smile when I saw it but it slowly faded away

I hugged the shoes and closed my eyes, I saw DongHae’s face with a bright expression while choosing these shoes, tears escaped from my eyes, how I miss to see those gummy smiles and playful grins but I cried more when I realized that those smiles are not for me

I opened my eyes and come back to reality again, a reality that no one can escape, I went down the bed and bring the shoes with me, I made my way to the corner of my room where big box located with DongHae’s gifts

I was surprised to see all the things that I like in the boxes, even though we are separated for a long time now, he still cherish the things I love

I looked at the box for the last time before I put the shoes in the box and closed it

“mianhe…” I whispered

I went out of my room while pulling the box and the girls bombarded me with questions

“what’s that?” tiffany asked me

“it’s DongHae’s gifts…” I said while still pulling it and placed it beside the door

“are you throwing it away?” Yuri asked in disbelief

“no, I will give it back to him…” I said mu usual tone

“but he gave it to you, unnie.” SeoHyun reminded to her

“Seo, I know but I don’t deserve these things from him especially we are over…” I said hiding my sadness

“but please be considerate and appreciative enough. Think of what he will feel when you return those to him.” TaeYeon said trying to change Sica’s mind

“I’m doing this for him, I return these so that he won’t expect something from me…” I told to them while forcing myself to smile

The girls just looked at me with sorrowful eyes, I know they are tired and I’m making harder for them because of my actions

After I finished to closed the box I faced them

“I’m going out…” I told them with a smile

“where are you going, unnie?” Yoona asked mw with a curios tone

“in my parents’ house…” I said before I bid goodbye to them

DongHae’s POV

I woke up early and prepared everything for Jessica, I baked a cake for her and I immediately washed up so that I can go to their dorm and greet her

I come along with my other SUJU members, I noticed that their dorm was quite, I knocked and HyoHyeon opened the door for us

“is there something wrong?” I asked while entering

But no one dares to speak

“where is sica? I wanted to give this to her…” I said while showing the cake and my excited smile

“oppa… she went out…” Yuri answered without looking at me

“oh, then I will wait for her…”  I said while I sat down on the sofa facing the entrance door

“why are you quite?” Sungmin asked

“nothing oppa…” Sunny lied

“are you going to have a surprise party for her?” SiWon asked the girls

“maybe?” SooYoung with uneasiness in her tone

Then my eyes roamed around to help the girls how will they decorate the living room until my eyes landed on a box,

I stood up and went to the box

“oppa, don’t open it…” TaeYeon tried to stop me

“is this decorations you will use?” I asked while I open the box

Then in my surprised it was my gifts for her, I took out the last gift that I sent her: flat shoes

“oppa, she wanted to return those to you…” Tiffany said with a hint of sadness and pity

“why? She didn’t like it?” I asked while stopping myself to cry

“mianhe oppa…” the girls apologized and consoled me

Jessica’s POV

Instead of going to my parents’ house, I went to the cemetery to visit my baby

“hello, baby…” I greeted him before I put the flowers I bought for him

Then I sat down on the grass facing his tombstone

“it’s mommy birthday today… do I look old already… haha… well, omma is pretty right?” I talked to him like he was alive

Then silence occurred before I speak again

“I miss you, my baby… always look after me and your appa… I know you are in a better place, saranghe…” I said as I didn’t stop myself for breaking down

I stayed there for a few about 2 hours and offered prayers and ask for apologies for not taking care of him

Then I went home to our dorm, as I went home, I texted Tiffany that I don’t want any surprises

DongHae’s POV

We excitedly decorate the place and ordered delicious food for her special day despite of the what happened earlier, I enthusiastically prepared everything for her but s Tiffany got the message the mood went down, my other SUJU members went home while the girls went to their room while I just waited for her to arrived, I won’t let this day end without seeing and greeted her

The dorm lights are off only the chandelier in the living room was lit, I waited for her patiently until an idea come up to my mind

Jessica’s POV

When I entered in the dorm, I saw that they decorated it and the foods are still in the table, I felt touched and at the same time guilty in bursting out their bubbles for surprising me, I called the girls for us to continue what they prepared but I guess they are already resting

As I made my way to my bedroom I saw a lit cake outside

“chinja? This will cause fire in the dorm…” I said as I squat down in from of the cake

I tasted some of the icing like a little girl then giggled

“ happy birthday to me…” I sang for myself before I blew my candle

“make a wish first…” a voice interrupted me from behind me

I turned my head where I heard the voice then I saw DongHae approaching me, I watched him as he went beside me, also squatting down

“happy birthday…” he said as he got the cake

“Donghae…” I muttered

“make a wish…” he told to me as he got the cake nearer to me

I closed my eyes and chant my wish silently in my mind then I opened my eyes, seeing DongHae smiling to me lovingly

“blow now the candle…” he commanded to me

and I did

“DongHae, thank you…” I said to him while he putting back the cake in the ground

“you’re welcome…” he said happily to me

Then silence occurred between us for while, I watch him looking at the cake

“Donghae…” I called him and when he faced me, I throw myself in him, I hugged him tight that made him lost his balance, he fell first in the ground while I’m still hugging him

“no need to say thank you, you know I do anything for you and to prove that I love you…” he said as he hug me too and caress my back for comfort

Then all of a sudden I felt I was crying, crying in happiness

"wait for me until i am ready..." i whispered to him

"i will... forever..." he said as he hug me tighter

They didn’t know that the girls are peeking and giggling silently while watching them
