“You have always done a lot of staring when you’re worried.” Jiyeon looked up when she heard the door to the salon opened. “Oppa? So you were the one that Jieun was talking about.” Her brother, Hyo Joon, had come yesterday to make an appointment without her knowing. “Could you give my hair a good scrub? It’s been 3 days since I last washed”, her brother sat down on one of the chairs and laughed. “Eww. Still as disgusting as ever”, Jiyeon rolled her eyes and started to get some items ready. “You ought to catch up on some sleep soon. Look at those dark circles under your eyes. It’s ugly”, Jiyeon had asked her brother to get up and move to another chair, asking him to lay his head over the sink. “Jiyeon-ah”, her brother spoke up, making Jiyeon look up from whatever she was doing. “Until how long are you going to keep working while schooling? Appa is already fine. You can quit this job already”, he reminded her. Jiyeon bit her lips and started applying the shampoo into his hair. “I love working here. It gets my mind off things”, she admitted. “You can’t keep running away from problems forever you know.” “Oppa—" “You’re never been like this before. It’s been months. What exactly is bothering you that you aren’t telling me?”, he retorted. She looked down at him, exasperated. “What?” “Relax would you? I’m the one supposed to be mad here.” After Jiyeon was done washing, she started blow drying his hair. “You’re looking very tired Jiyeon. Is everything really alright?” Jiyeon sighed, “Yeah, I’m just tired like you said, I’m worrying about school, I think.”       She was grateful that her brother is concerned about her.  But if she tells him about L, she’s afraid her brother will go on protection mode and become like all the typical brothers out there, getting all defensive for nothing. “I got a call from Eunjung noona”, he shouted over the noise of the hair dryer. “Huh?” Hyo Joon grabbed the hair dryer from her and dried his hair quickly before turning it off. “Jieun-ah! Jiyeon will pay for my hair wash. I’ll be borrowing her for a while”, he yelled and led Jiyeon outside. He folded his hands and leaned forward a bit to look at her. Slightly nervous at what her brother was going to talk to her about, she fiddled with the strings of her top. “What do you want to talk to me about?” “You are going to quit this job after today.
