Chapter 5
The Sun and The Moon'Are you going to 'accidentally' spill holy water on me next, JiYong? Maybe find a chance to slip a cross into my pocket? The sun's up. I promise I'm not a vampire'. Luna was losing her patience with him. He was leaned back in his chair, arms crossed over his chest, slouched down and looking at her like she was a piece of dog . Despite both she and YoungBae explaining the mix up to him, he refused to change his opinion of her.
The breakfast shared after their night out was tense and uncomfortable. For JiYong, because he didn't trust her. Her explanations were too neat for him. It made him sick to see Bae hanging onto her words. He was encouraged, though, to see her not responding in the usual fawning, fangirl way. She didn't let Bae cut up her pancakes. She told him quite sternly that she was an adult and knows how to keep herself of choking. When Bae tried to hold her hand at one point, she slapped his wrist and reminded him that just because she wasn't an undercover reporter, didn't mean the guy at next table wasn't. To JiYong's skeptical mind, it just looked like she was playing a fierce game of 'hard to get'.
For YoungBae, he was uncomfortable because all the kindness she showed him the previous night seemed to disappear when JiYong showed up. She cooled down considerably. Her smiles became strained and less frequent. She didn't eat as much as he thought she should, considering the indelicate noises her stomach made. She rearranged the pancakes more than ate them, but did consume 4 cups of coffee.
In Luna's defense, she found it hard to muster an appetite with the daggers that were being thrown at her mentally. JiYong kept asking her questions in an apparent attempt to trip her up and it was quickly grating on her nerves. She was thrilled, because looks could not, in fact, kill. She was in the process of excusing herself from the table when YoungBae grabbed her cellphone. Silly girl doesn't even lock it, he noticed. After adding his number, he felt the answering buzz in his own pocket.
“I know you'll probably sleep for a while, but call me when you get up?” he asked. Luna mumbled something like a yes, but more on the lines of a maybe, and dashed to the elevators. She checked her recent call list and saw he had entered himself as 'SOL'. Sol. Solar. TaeYang. Sun. Luna. Lunar. Moon. How perfectly corny. The impulse struck her to change it, but she didn't have the heart.
After a long hot shower, she lay down on the bed and fell into oblivion.

Boing, Boing! Boing, Boing!
Yes, it really was a teenage girls cellphone. No self respecting woman would have that bit of aegyo as her text message alert. Luna pulled the towel away from her eyes and was greeted by the sun still slapping her in the face. She groaned and rolled over with her back to the window.
Boing, Boing! Boing, Boing!
Giving up on slumber, she felt around blindly for the offending electronic. In the process, she pushed it off the nightstand and then onto the floor. Then she kicked it and had to reach behind the dresser to retrieve it. The whole time it kept making that disturbingly cheerful sound.
SOL: Did you sleep well?
Luna: Yes, until this stupid phone started making noises.
SOL: Sorry, did I wake you?
Luna: It's fine. I don't want to sleep away my vacation. Did you sleep well?
SOL: I slept better last night with you beside me.
Luna: ert!
SOL: KeKeKe. I want to go to the Teddy Bear Museum. Come with me?
Now this gave Luna pause. It was one thing to see him around the resort, maybe share a meal and a few laughs. It was something else entirely to go places with him. What if they were seen? Would it just be the two of them? Did this count as a date? There was no denying that she was attracted to him. He possessed this childlike innocence at times that made her want to hold his hand. He was shy. Luna was always a er for a shy smile. Every time he would bite his lip and duck his head, she wanted to hug him
