Ch. 11

Woo Jiho's Personal Assistant?!

Catori’s P.O.V

I ran out of the house until I reached the bus stop. I breathed heavily and held onto the light pole next to me.

“Are you okay?” I heard someone ask me. I looked around and saw Minhyuk smiling at me. I smiled back and nodded. “What were you running from? Jiho?” he snickered. I laughed nervously when I realized that I technically was running from him.

“That’s funny, no I was just worried that I was going to miss the bus.” I made up an excuse and laughed lightly.

“Actually I think you did just miss it barely.” He gave me an apologetic look. I sighed then furrowed my eyebrows.

“How do you know? I can’t really see you taking the bus much less anyone else from your group of friends.” I grinned when I saw him roll his eyes.

“So? Why would I take public transportation when I got my own car? I saw the bus come like five minutes before. I was shopping.” He pointed at the store that was right in front of the bus stop. I made an O with my mouth and nodded. “So how are you gonna get to where you need to get now?” he asked me curiously. I shrugged my shoulders and checked the bus schedule. The next bus wasn’t coming for the next hour. I bit my lip nervously then sighed.

“I think I’ll just a taxi.” I looked around and saw a taxi coming.

“I can drive you to were you need.” He offered. I looked at him surprised. I smiled but objected the offer. I saw a girl come over with a glare directed at me.

“Oppa, can we leave now?” she had a squeaky voice that sounded unbearable. I looked at Minhyuk who had an annoyed look. I tried not to laugh so instead I faced the road and waited for the next taxi to come.

“Sorry but I think you’ll have to wait for next time. I have to drive my friend somewhere.” He detached himself from her and took me with him. I looked at him surprised but he just smirked. “I was getting annoyed of her anyways. So where should I take you?” he smiled at me showing his dimples. I smiled back subconsciously and thought about it. Well I guess it wouldn’t hurt to have him take me.

“Um, I was gonna go to my apartment but you can just drop me off at a club that’s close to it.”

“You’re scared I’ll judge you by your place?” he looked at me smiling lightly. I looked at him surprised and when I didn’t answer I heard him chuckle. “Don’t worry I won’t, you seem like a respectful girl so where you live won’t change my thoughts on you.” He opened the door to his all black camero for me then walked over to his side. I smiled at him to show my gratefulness and he smiled back.

“Thank you,” I bowed slightly and then told him where to go.

He parked in front of the apartment and then went out of the car. Before I could open the door he had already opened it and was holding it open for me. I looked up surprised and smiled at him.

“Thanks!” I beamed brightly. He smiled back the closed the door when I got out.

“So what do you need to do?” he asked as he followed me in the building.

“I just need to get some paper work for school.” I replied not paying much attention to him because I was having trouble opening the door.

“Let me help.” He came over them kicked the door open. I stood there dumbfounded as he walked in as if kicking doors open for him was normal. I slowly walked going to my room. I grabbed my college tuition forms and then walked back into the living room. I saw him looking at my picture frames I had set on the coffee table. He had picked up the one that had me and my mother on it. “Is this your mother?” he asked me still looking at the picture.

“Yeah, it is. That was a while ago though I think when I was in my first year of high school?” I looked at the picture and nodded. “Yeppers, definitely first year of high school.” I confirmed it. He looked at the other pictures and saw another picture of my mom with my younger brother.

“You have a brother?” he asked while looking at it. I nodded and I couldn’t help but look at the fascinated look on his face.

“Why?” I asked him. He looked over at me then back at the picture.

“You guys look a lot alike.” He said ignoring my question. I looked at him strangely before pulling the picture out of his hand.

“You didn’t answer my question.” I looked into his eyes. He smiled meekly and rubbed the back of his neck.

“I don’t know, I guess I never really got that close to my family. My parents have always been too busy with their work, I have siblings but only a noona and she has been studying in Japan since High School.” I couldn’t help but feel a small pang in my chest. I guess rich kids don’t have everything. I could feel my sympathy for him take over and I ruffled his hair.

“I’m sorry, but if it makes you feel better I’m here for you. I’ll be like a sister to you.” I smiled trying to lighten up the mood. He looked over at me surprised but smiling. I could feel him ruffle my hair and put his arm around my shoulders.

“Arraso, since you said that you have to call me oppa now since you’re younger.” He snickered. I laughed but nodded.

“Alright, can we leave then oppa?” I asked him getting up and stretching. He nodded then picked up his keys from the table.

“Let’s go dongsengie~” he teased and snickered. “Can’t wait for Jiho to find out about this.” He snickered even more.

“Why?” I pondered.

“I just wanna see how he’ll take it.” he linked arms with me then walked out the door with me. I could feel myself get closer to him despite havig talked to him only a couple of times. He seemed down to earth and friendly.

“Wait! I wanna go see my friend! I haven’t seen here in such a long time!” I exclaimed like a little kid. He followed me to Chaelin’s door and laughed when he saw me knock loudly. “Yah! Ahjumma!! Open the damn door!!” I shouted at the door.

“Who the fu- CATORI!!!!” she shrieked and jumped on me. I giggled and hugged her back. “I MISS YOU SO MUCH! HOW HAS MY LITTLE GIRL BEEN?!?” She yelled in my ears. I winced but still laughed at her.

“I’ve been good! How ‘bout you?!?” I asked her with the same excitement. We talked for a while until I heard someone clear their throats. Me and Chaelin looked over and saw Minhyuk shifting awkwardly from foot to foot. “OH! Chae this is Minhyuk! Minhyuk this is Chaelin!” I introduced them to each other. They bowed to each other then it became quiet again.

“Um, sorry to interrupt but I have a couple things to do…” Minhyuk trailed off.

“Oh that’s okay! I understand!” I smiled and then faced Chae. “I’ll call you so we can hang out soon!” I pulled her into a hug.

“Promise! Oh and good luck with that Zico kid!” she snickered. I rolled my eyes and followed Minhyuk.

“So what is it you have to do?” I asked him as I sat in the car. He started the engine and then drove out to the street.

“I want to buy my mom a present for her birthday. I was hoping you could help me.” he asked shyly. I nodded quickly and told him of course. He drove back to Gangnam and pulled up to a department store. Thank god I dressed up descent today. We walked in and I followed him closely so I wouldn’t get lost. “Should I get her clothes or perfume?” he asked me stopping in his tracks making me bump into him. He faced me and laughed, “Are you okay?” he ruffled my hair. I nodded then fixed my hair. “Here I’ll hold your hand so you don’t have to worry about getting lost.” He intertwined fingers with me and smiled.

“Thanks, as for the present, I think you should get her something that reminds you of her. I know you said you barely spent time with her but maybe something you remember her by.” I looked around the store and couldn’t help but be amazed at all the different things that were displayed around me. I looked at him and saw his face brighten.

“I remember she would take me to the ice cream shop by her work. I also remember she made me learn how to knit…” he shivered slightly; I couldn’t help but snicker at the thought of Minhyuk knitting.

“What else do you remember?” I asked him. “You can give her a charm bracelet of all the things you remember doing with her.” I suggested.

“I like that idea! I knew it was a good idea to bring you with.” He swung our hands around and then walked over to the jewelry section. He looked at all the charms and chose the ones he liked the most. “What do you think?” he asked me. I looked at it and smiled.

“I love it, I’m sure she’ll like it too.” I mused. He thanked me then went to go pay for it. “Is there anything else you want to do?” I asked him as we walked away from the jewelry section. He checked the time and I could tell it was late because of his facial expression.

“Wow, it’s already six. How ‘bout we go get dinner and then I’ll drop you off?” he suggested.

“Yeah that sounds good to me!’ I laughed lightly, “I can feel my stomach growl!” he smiled showing his dimples and then held my hand and took me to a nearby restaurant. We walked to the restaurant but the whole time we walked I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching us. I turned back but I couldn’t distinguish anyone in the large crowd. I shrugged it off and decided to just ignore it. I’m sure it’s just my mind playing games on me. When we got seated I looked at the menu and realized that we were still in Gangnam and even though the restaurant didn’t look that fancy the prices were definitely overpriced like everything else in Gangnam. I chewed on my lip nervously thinking about what I could get with the limited money I had.

“So what are you getting? I think I just want some normal kimchi jjigae.” He burst my thoughts when he asked me a question.

“Uhh, I’m not sure I’m not that hungry any-“

“If you’re worried about the price, don’t be. I’m paying for you anyways so get what you want.” He interjected with a smile.

“Oh no! I can’t you already helped me-“

“You’ve helped me a lot today too, remember? You saved me from that annoying girl, you promised to be like family for me and you helped me pick out a present for my mom. To top it off… this has been one of the best days I‘ve had in a while. Whenever I go out with a girl they get annoying real quick and I don’t think I’ve spent this much time with one.” He smirked putting the menu down. “So go ahead, pick what you want.” His smirk changed to a smile revealing his adorable dimples again. I looked at him surprised and I couldn’t help smile back at him warmly.

“How are you friends with Jiho?” I questioned no one in particular. He grinned then placed his chin on his fists.

“You’ve been thinking about him this whole time?” he inquired. I looked at him dazed. The truth was that even though I was with Minhyuk the whole day I couldn’t help but have Jiho in the back of my mind. My thoughts from last night to this morning couldn’t be eradicated from my mind. They were embedded in my thoughts because I couldn’t figure out my feelings on the whole situation and for Jiho in general. I guess that’s why I brought him up; I kept comparing Minhyuk to Jiho. Minhyuk acted like a complete gentleman while Jiho took every chance he could to bother me. Yet, I was still more intrigued by Jiho. It didn’t make sense at all and I hated that. “You like him?” he poked me with another question.

“I-I no, of course not.” I blinked firmly keeping my eyes on the menu.

“Mhm, of course you don’t.” he had the same teasing voice that Hanhae has when he teases me about Jiho. “Don’t worry, I know Hanhae teases you about that enough, but if you ever you need someone to talk to you have your oppa right here.” he snickered. I looked up at him grinning.

“Gomawo oppa!” I giggled. He laughed with me then asked the waitress to come over.

“Watch this,” he whispered before the waitress came. She came with her pen and pad ready to take our orders. “I’ll have the kimchi jjigae.” He smiled up at her showing his dimples sending the waitress into a fit of giggles. “What do you want jagi?” he looked at me expectantly. I looked at him startled but followed his lead. The waitress’s giggles were immediately stopped when she heard that.

“I’ll have the same as you oppa.” I closed the menu and handed it to the waitress. She yanked it out of my hand then took it sweetly from Minhyuk making sure he got an eye full of her s that were hanging out of her shirt. She sauntered off making her hips move from side to side. I held my laughter until she was in the kitchen. We both burst out laughing and high fived each other. “Yah, that was good!” I snickered holding my hand up to my mouth. Minhyuk nodded still laughing holding his stomach.

“Aigoo, that’s why I like you Catori, you’re not annoying like other girls. You rubbed off on me fast.” He ruffled my hair. I scrunched my nose then fixed my hair.

“Aish, my hair is gonna look like-“

" hair?” he wiggled his eyebrows at me. “You’re right I’ll stop, we don’t want Jiho to think something happened between us.” He laughed even harder at my pout earning him glares from the people around us.

“Aish, pabo!” was all I managed to say. We talked for a while until the food came. “Oo wahh, it looks so so so good!” I could feel my mouth water at the smell of the warm kimchi.

“Yah, the waitress is looking!” he whisper-yelled. “Let me feed you!” he used the same voice. I looked at him smirking and nodded. “Jagi open up!” he said with a loud and cutesy voice. “I know your mouth can open wider than that. Trust me I’ve seen it." he snickered. I choked on the food before kicking him under the table.

“Pabo! Aish! Really Minhyuk you can be too much sometimes!” I rolled my eyes at him.

“I was just kidding~ don’t worry no one heard that one, I was too quite.” He winked at me. I rolled my eyes and he continued feeding me. I could hear the waitress groan in annoyance and she walked back into the kitchen. I pulled back and started eating by myself. “Yah, why’d you pull away?” he furrowed his eyebrows and smiled at him with my cheeks filled with food.

“It’s gonna take too long to eat if you keep feeding me and I’m hungry.” I mumbled with my mouth full. He grinned then started eating his own food. When we finished he paid the bill and we walked out. He checked the time then put his arm around my shoulders.

“Come on dongsengie, I don’t want to get you home too late. We don’t want Jiho to get mad now do we?” he snickered. We walked to the car then he drove back to Jiho’s which wasn’t too far away. “Want me to come in so he doesn’t yell at you?”

“Why would I yell at her?” I looked at the entrance and saw Jiho standing at the door. “Tell me hyung, why would I yell at her?” he asked Minhyuk raising an eyebrow. I heard Minhyuk sigh in annoyance.

“Chill Jiho, I was just dropping her off.” He explained. Jiho simply nodded then waved bye to him.

“Well she’s here, bye.” He saluted him then went inside leaving the door open.

“Bye dongsengie.” He smiled at me before getting in his car and leaving I waved at him then entered the house. I looked around and saw no sign of him around. I took a sigh of relief too soon because as I looked from taking my shoes off he was standing there in front of me. I jumped slightly and breathed a sigh.

“You scared me.” I tried walking passed him but he stepped in the way. I looked up at him and I could tell that he was mad. “What?” I asked him as I crossed my arms.

“So how was your date with Minhyuk?” he asked in a sarcastic tone. I rolled my eyes at him and showed him the tuition papers.

“It was great, you know especially the part where we knew the whole time that it wasn’t a date.” I asserted. “I didn’t even plan on seeing him. Now if you’ll excuse me, I want to go rest.” I tried to walk away from him but he held my arm. “Really Jiho? I’m tired of this-“

“I’m sorry, I went out to buy you a sorry gift and I saw you two. I don’t know what came over me but I got- I got mad, but here.” he went into the living room and grabbed a large bag. I looked at it surprised as he handed it to me. When he saw that I was still looking at it he nudged it closer to me. I finally grabbed it and saw a teddy bear that had a note in its hand saying ‘I’m sorry’. I looked at him then back at the bear. It had dark crème color for its fur which was very soft. It was pretty big but not huge. “Sorry, for the trouble I caused you last night. Can we go back to normal?” he rubbed the back of his neck. My eyes stayed on the teddy bear and I couldn’t help but let a smile spread across my face.

“I forgive you.” I finally looked up at him smiling. He looked taken back but he smiled back. I could feel my face flush a little, I don’t think I’ve actually seen him smile before, but I liked it.
