Main Characters:

 

Kim Eunyoung: 20, attending Inha University as a junior. Hard-working student; gets the second-best grades [determined to get the best]. Meets SHINee at school, befriends them, but never got along with Jonghyun at all in the beginning. Falls for Onew in the beginning, but like the seasons, feelings do change.

 

Kim Jonghyun: Lead singer of SHINee, 20, attending Inha University as a junior. Known as one of the most popular guys, but also is known for having the best grades. Very competitive, doesn’t give in easily, known to be very stubborn, but is actually a nice person who’s had to make himself tough to succeed in life.

 

Lee Jinki [Onew]: Leader of SHINee, 21, attending Inha University as a senior. A nice guy, a bit of a weirdo, but his humor is okay. He’s a romantic, but hasn’t been able to get over the last unrequited love, and even though he tries, he’s never really been able to get the girl. But when he meets Eunyoung, something changes.

 

Minor Characters:

 

Kim Hyunae: Eunyoung’s younger sister, 17, attending Seoul International as a senior. Aspiring dancer and singer, she strives to be as good as [better] than Eunyoung. Their sisterly bond is strong. Hyunae is introduced to Taemin through her unnie, they click as friends, but Hyunae hides deeper feelings for him.

 

Song Yekyung: Eunyoung’s best friend, 20, attending Inha University as a junior. Loud and outspoken, almost the total opposite of Eunyoung. But they get along like sisters, until she develops feelings for Jonghyun that leaves them divided temporarily. Often asks Eunyoung for tutoring, because her grades aren’t as high.

 

Lee Taemin: Maknae of SHINee, 18, attending Inha University as a freshman. New to college, so he depends on his hyungs for guidance. Is still very young at heart, Eunyoung treats him like a little brother, and always begs for dancing lessons from him.

 

Kim Kibum [Key]: Rapper/Singer of SHINee, 19, attending Inha University as a sophomore. Stylish fashionisto that he is, he immediately bonded with Eunyoung over the new fashion trends and is aspiring to be a fashion designer as well as an idol. He of course notices everything, especially the attraction between Eunyoung and Jonghyun, but doesn’t say anything until the right moment.

 

Choi Minho: Rapper of SHINee, 18, attending Inha University as a sophomore. Quiet and shy, he doesn’t talk much, but after meeting Hyunae, he tries to be more talkative to get to know her better. Develops feelings for Eunyoung’s younger sister, but he doesn’t know how he’ll be able to stand competing with Taemin.

“I don’t understand why you’re being so nice to me all of a sudden,” Eunyoung told Jonghyun matter-of-factly.

“I don’t understand why either, but just go with it, will you?” He couldn’t say the words he wanted to whisper in her ear.

 

“Key, what am I supposed to do? I don’t know what I should do.” Hyunae looked at him with tears b her eyes. “Who am I supposed to choose?”

“Hyunae, just follow your heart. It will take you in the right direction.” Key patted her back lightly, gave her a brotherly hug, and handed her a handkerchief to dry her face. “It will be okay. As long as you have a warm open heart.”
