Lu Han had no home. There was not one place he can look for shelter and not one person to take refuge in. Except for Park Chanyeol, that was. It wasn’t that he didn’t have family. In fact, he lived with his father, mother, and an older sister. But not once have they been the ‘family’ that he so longed to have. They were closer to strangers than blood; actually, two were technically strangers. Everyone just shut up and acted like they didn’t know anything because, after all, they were the owners of the prominent Xiao Lu Investments.      Long, long ago, when ‘family’ wasn’t such an unfamiliar and strange word, Lu Han was happy. He was like everyone else—young, free, and human. He lived to do what he wanted to, and nothing was required upon the small child. He liked to draw, and that was exactly what he did. But, in the end, it was all a fairytale.      As he did every morning, Lu Han sat in his seat at the dining table inside his house. His father sat in the center with his mother and sister to his left. He was at the right. No one spoke a single word as mouths fed themselves. It was the typical routine of the day, and the cold atmosphere was the same for more than a decade already.      “Lu Han,” his father said, after finishing his meal and wiping his mouth. “Your studies are going well, I suppose?”      “Yes, father,” he replied curtly.      His father grunted. “Just remember that you will be responsible for the future of Xiao Lu. As the sole male heir, it is your duty to live and dedicate your life for the family’s cause. Is that understood?”      Lu Han set down the silver utensils on the table. “Of course, father.”      “Good.” The elder male in his late fifties turned to face his wife. “You should focus on getting Qian a partner. Women shouldn’t stay unmarried for long.”      Lu Qian opened in protest. “Dad—”      “Honey,” the elderly female beside her interrupted. “She’s just past twenty six this year. It’s too early to discuss marriage.”      “Twenty six is old enough,” Xiao Lu’s chairman snapped back. “Just do as I say and find a good family for her.”      In anger, Qian slammed her fork on the table, burst up from her seat, and stormed upstairs.      Shaking his head, her father murmured, “Exactly when is she going to mature?”      With a sigh, Lu Han looked up, only to meet the cold, angry glare from his mother. “Please excuse me. I have an early morning class today…” Quietly, he made his way over to his room and began packing his belongings into his bag.      “Are you happy?” a snarling voice came from the doorway. It was his sister. “You feel great, huh? You finally get to get rid of me.”      He let out a deep breath and turned his attention towards his backpack again. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.      “Bastard. You’re a disgrace to the Lu family. You know that, right?”      Lu Han froze, and it only gave Qian more of a reason to continue.      “You’re filthy, just like your mom. If you weren’t the only male seed in the family, dad would’ve cast you away a long, long time ago.”      “Shut up,” he growled in a low voice.      She sneered in response. “It’s a real pity your mom died like that. A real pity. She left you to live on your own, didn’t she? Plus, your head’s all ed up now with a mental disorder, too. I can understand her, though. She probably felt like trash—”      All of a sudden, Lu Han charged at Qian and grabbed her by the collar. He had her so tight that she was standing on her toes, with her face just centimeters away from his. “I told you to shut up,” he said, gritting his teeth.      Despite the slow straining on , Lu Qian grinned. “Look,” she managed to huff. “The dirty, lowly blood is running in your veins at this very moment.” When she saw him clench his fists tight, she said, “Hit me. Hit me, Lu Han. You want to hurt me right now. Go. Go ahead!”      Tearing away from her glare, Lu Han let her go, turned, and grabbed his backpack. “Let’s not do this,” he said weakly.      She scoffed. “I knew you were a coward.”      As he stepped out of his room, he took one glance over his shoulder. “I guess I am.”   <:>      Jieun sat on a wooden bench in the campus of Seoul University, thinking to herself. Not many students came to school on the weekends, so the environment was calm and quiet. With a long sigh, she leaned back on the bench and closed her eyes. As bits of sunlight seeped in through her closed eyelids, all sorts of thoughts seeped into her mind.      She had pledged to herself that she would get up to the top, and that once she was there, she was going to destroy everything. She had sworn to see the end of the so-called world above the clouds. But, honestly, she had no idea how. She didn’t know where to begin in the first place.      Suddenly, she heard faint sounds of footsteps then a thud on the bench right beside her. She automatically assumed it was Oh Sehun and remained still in her position. She didn’t say a word, and nor did he; the two just sat in their seats quietly and silently.      A few minutes later, Jie

Chapter 21: This was a very beautiful story. So very descriptive and detailed. Also very angsty and somewhat realistic, connects to realworld problems, which i like. Although the ending was sad, i still enjoyed reading. You're a very talented writer, author-nim. Keep it up~!^^

Chapter 22: Okay, I haven't been reading this even though it appeared in my updated subscriptions simply because I am very lazzzzzzzy lol. Well, I'm not even surprised to read this tragic ending cos I know you ain't kind enough to give a happy one. LOL jk, I mean, it's obvious that this is going to end up angst. But to be honest, I quite frustrated with all the main characters here lol. The story's amazing though. I like the epilogue most, the insight about the types of love. :)
