When Lu Han and Jieun arrived at work together one morning—and continued to do so from that point on—rumors that had begun spreading during their ‘cold war’ period dissipated. Doubts of their engagement and bets on how long their relationship would last became almost a laughingstock, for the two were simply an impeccable couple. Lu Han would often visit Jieun’s office during lunch hours and work hours with a cheeky, shameless grin hanging on his face. At one point, Jieun came to a sudden realization that she was subject to the hottest gossips in the company; when she told Lu Han about it with a flushed face, he merely shrugged and said that he was used to being the center of attention ever since the moment he was born.      But pure happiness never lasted for too long. Jieun’s rain cloud to her sunny days came in the form of Kim Jongin. Because she didn’t bother to call him as she said she would a week ago, he approached her first. “Aloha,” he greeted as soon as she picked up the call. “Did you go on a vacation without telling me, or what? I wonder what our little Jieun is thinking; clearly you didn’t understand me when I said I wouldn’t wait too long.”      “A vacation sounds nice, actually,” retorted Jieun dryly. “One without you to ruin the atmosphere, of course.”      He snorted, saying, “I don’t think it’s the right time for you to be talking about vacation though, don’t you agree?”      Jieun ignored his question but asked one of her own. “You’re going to attend the wedding, I suppose? Between me and Lu Han.”      Growing frustrated with beating around the bush, Jongin decided to push through with the ultimatum. “Did I not make myself clear enough? Very well then. I’m giving you the next twenty four hours to do as I told you to. If not, I’m going to make arrangements with Lu Han.”       But to his utter shock, Jieun didn’t even seem to have flinched. “Do as you please, Kai,” she said matter-of-factly. “Your threats do very little in scaring me. Maybe you’ll have better luck with Lu Han.” And without waiting for a response from him, she ended the call, turning off her cell phone immediately afterwards. “,” she murmured, a faint smile lingering on the corner of her lips.   <:>      There was too little time for Jongin to remain dumbfounded and confused at Jieun’s sudden change in attitude. He had to save his company somehow, and it was now clear that using the Lu household’s daughter-in-law-to-be wasn’t an available method.      So he chose his plan B, Lu Han. The latter had agreed to meet up at their usual bar just fifteen minutes later. ‘He’d by no doubt be shocked once he hears about his precious girlfriend,’ Jongin thought, mentally organizing the things he’d tell him. ‘I’d be doing the guy a big favor. I don’t like him, per say, but I shouldn’t let a nine-tailed vixen from lowly backgrounds marrying a friend I’ve known for years.’      “Hey, Jongin!” someone suddenly called from behind. It was the guy he’d been waiting for. Lu Han took a seat, loosening his tie a bit. “Sorry I was a few minutes late. There was a lot of traffic.”      “It’s fine, I didn’t wait too long anyway. What do you want to drink?”      Lu Han flashed the other a grin. “Just water. Ice water.”      Raising an eyebrow skeptically, Jongin asked, “You sure? You might want something strong—you wouldn’t even want to be sober after hearing the stuff I’m about to tell you, man.”      “I’m sure.” Cocking his head slightly to the side in confusion, he said, “What is it that you have to tell me, then, knowing I wouldn’t be too happy about it?”      The CEO of EK Corporations feigned a sympathetic look and sighed softly. “I don’t want to tell you, but I have to. It’s something you must know before your marriage. About your fiancée.”      “Jieun?” Lu Han’s expression darkened. “What do you want to say?”      “Alright, man,

Chapter 21: This was a very beautiful story. So very descriptive and detailed. Also very angsty and somewhat realistic, connects to realworld problems, which i like. Although the ending was sad, i still enjoyed reading. You're a very talented writer, author-nim. Keep it up~!^^

Chapter 22: Okay, I haven't been reading this even though it appeared in my updated subscriptions simply because I am very lazzzzzzzy lol. Well, I'm not even surprised to read this tragic ending cos I know you ain't kind enough to give a happy one. LOL jk, I mean, it's obvious that this is going to end up angst. But to be honest, I quite frustrated with all the main characters here lol. The story's amazing though. I like the epilogue most, the insight about the types of love. :)
