Everything was a mess. Sehun, the inside of Jieun’s mind, the carpet, and the entire situation was just a mess. Calmly and rationally, Jieun tried to sort things out in her head—the first thing she needed to do something about was Sehun.      “Come inside,” she whispered urgently. Once he did, she closed the door behind him, locked it, and made sure she did the same for all her windows and curtains. “Did anyone notice you on your way here?”      Sehun shook his head slowly. “I came through small alleyways and empty streets. And it was too dark for anyone to notice the stains.”      Jieun sighed in relief. They were safe—at least for now. She dug through her closet for a spare change of clothes for him, and luckily, there was a t-shirt and sweatpants that seemed like they could fit a larger male. Wrapping a towel around Sehun’s head and giving his hair a tousle, she handed the clothes over to him. “Get changed,” she told him, in an almost commanding tone. “Then let’s talk.”      Compliantly, Sehun went into the bathroom with a nod; as Jieun waited for him out in the living room, she irritatingly turned off her television, which kept repeating the same news over and over again. She then sat, thinking. She had to think—of something, of anything. But what was the right decision here? Sehun had committed murder. He’d done something that simply couldn’t be undone. He was a murderer, a runaway at that, too. He wouldn’t be safe anymore, no matter where he was hidden. It wasn’t that he had the money or power to defend himself, either. All he had left was his bare body.      “Turn yourself in,” Jieun blurted out the moment Sehun came out of the bathroom. “It’s the only way. I’ll hire lawyers—the best in the country. I’ll do all I can to lighten the weight of your crime and shorten your term. You’re still young, Sehun. There’s plenty of time for you to get a fresh start once you’ve paid your price—”      Sehun strode towards Jieun before getting down on one knee in front of her. His face was dead straight as he cupped her cheek with a hand and spoke up. “I only did what was right. It’s all done, just the way you wanted it to be. Kim Jongin has truly paid his price. He repaid your mother’s life with his very own.  Surely you can’t tell me that you didn’t want this.”      Prying his hands off of her, she shook her head furiously. “No! No, Sehun! What gave you the idea that I wanted this? This is far from what I’ve wanted. Yes, Jongin needs to pay, but...but not like this!” She fixed her gaze on his pale, thin hands and continued quietly, “There’s no price in the world that is worth staining your hands with blood.”      He just laughed. “My hands were already dirty, Jieun-ah. A drop of blood or two won’t make a difference.”      “It makes a hell of a lot of difference, Oh Sehun. You’ve done something you shouldn’t have done, and now the police are all out in search of you.”      “Let’s go abroad.” He flashed her a confident smile. “It doesn’t matter where—America, Europe, China, anywhere. We can start fresh there. I told you I’ve saved enough. Once we’re all settled in, we can go traveling often, too. We can live a completely new life, in a new place with new people.”    What he was saying was unbelievable. It was as if he’d lost his mind and his common sense. “Are you serious? We can’t leave. You’re a wanted criminal, Sehun. They’ve probably already suspended your passport to prevent you from leaving anywhere!”      “There are more ways to leave than via airplanes. If all out of solutions, I can get a forged ID. I’ve gotten info about a guy who’s a professional at these kinds of jobs.”      She shook her head resolutely and firmly. “Even if we could get out of the country, no. I’m not leaving, Sehun! I can’t. The wedding’s in two days, and—”      This time, it was Sehun’s turn to look at Jieun unbelievably. “The wedding? Is that what’s stopping you, Jieun? The goddamned wedding?” His expression contorted, flushing red in anger. “You said you don’t ing love him! You told me this!”
“Enough!” Jieun exclaimed, bursting up from her seat. “Whatever it is, I’m not leaving, Sehun. Let’s leave it at that. But you have to turn yourself in. Don’t make me do things I don’t want to do; I don’t want to be the one reporting you to the police.”      With Jieun gone into the middle of the night, Sehun sat in her living room blankly. He didn’t understand. He did what she wanted, yet why? Why would she do this? Why would she go to the extent of threatening him?      Where did it all go wrong in the first place?   <:>      It was morning. It was a nice, Friday morning. It was one day before the grand event, the marriage of the great Xiao Lu Investment’s only heir and his one and only lover.      Maybe it was because of the shocking news that aired throughout the entire nation last night. Maybe it was the fact that Kim Jongin was murdered. Maybe it was the fact that Oh Sehun was the murderer. Maybe these reasons were why it was dead silent as Lu Han drove to the boutique with Jieun besides him.      Lu Han was the one to speak up first. “Have you heard anything from him?”      “No,” she replied hoarsely. She wanted to tell him the truth, but decided against it just in case.      He nodded. “Well, if he does...” A frown made its way to his lips. “Tell him it’s best that he turn himself in. Running away wouldn’t solve anything. I can find a good lawyer for him, if necessary.”      “That’s what I think, too,” she said, sighing. “I don’t think he’ll call me, but if he does, I’ll make sure to tell him.”      From the corner of his eyes, Lu Han glanced at Jieun. She didn’t look very well—it was normal, he guessed, considering the drastic unfolding of events that had taken place. It seemed to him that the best thing he could do for her was to hold her hand and show her a reassuring smile. So he did. “I’m sure things will work out. Don’t be too stressed—you’re going to be a married woman tomorrow. You aren’t thinking of walking down the aisle with that look on your face, are you?”      Jieun was finally able to let out a light laugh. “Of course not. How could I even think of ruining the big day?” She squeezed the hand of his that held hers so tightly. “Thank you, Lu.”      “No problem. Oh, we’re here. Stay in here for a sec. I’ll just go pick up my tux and be right back.” He grinned, revealing his pearly whites as he pulled the car over. He stepped out shortly afterwards and jogged inside past the doors of the boutique building.      Sinking back into her seat, Jieun chuckled. It wasn’t really the right circumstances to laugh, but Lu Han was capable of making her do so. He really was something—none

Chapter 21: This was a very beautiful story. So very descriptive and detailed. Also very angsty and somewhat realistic, connects to realworld problems, which i like. Although the ending was sad, i still enjoyed reading. You're a very talented writer, author-nim. Keep it up~!^^

Chapter 22: Okay, I haven't been reading this even though it appeared in my updated subscriptions simply because I am very lazzzzzzzy lol. Well, I'm not even surprised to read this tragic ending cos I know you ain't kind enough to give a happy one. LOL jk, I mean, it's obvious that this is going to end up angst. But to be honest, I quite frustrated with all the main characters here lol. The story's amazing though. I like the epilogue most, the insight about the types of love. :)
