It took a couple of months for proper procedures and the federal bankruptcy law to take effect on EK Corporations, but the wait was not too much of a difficult one for Lee Jieun. EK was beyond repair anyway; as she had expected, the company soon left the hands of the Kim family and into those of creditors and banks.      The fall of EK was not the only thing that got closer and closer as time had passed, however. Lu Han and Jieun’s wedding day was near, leaving only a bit more than a week before it. Preparations were almost over, too. All that needed to be done was picking out every bride’s dream—the wedding dress. And it was that day. Lu Han and Jieun had both cleared their schedules free of work in order to prepare outfits at a wedding salon in Cheongdam-dong.      As Lu Han drove, the couple held each other’s hands tightly with smiles failing to disappear on their faces. “You look happy,” he prodded, glancing towards her direction. “I wonder why that is.”      She rolled her eyes playfully, slapping the back of his hand. “And you look like a fool. Each end of your lips is hanging on by your ears.”      After flashing her a quick, wide grin, he let out an exclamation of excitement. “I could die at this very moment, if I had to.” His grin softened into a smile, which in effect made him sound more serious and sincere than playful. “You mean the world to me, Jieun. I don’t need anything else besides you.”      From a mixture of emotions clashing at the core of her heart, Jieun was unable to meet his gaze with her own. Instead, she looked ahead past the window and to the streets outside to reply. “I wish our happiness wouldn’t end,” she said hoarsely.      “It won’t. It doesn’t have to, not in the slightest.” With his thumb, he reassuringly rubbed the hand he was holding. “As time passes, I’ll love you more and more.”      “I wish time would just freeze instead.”      “Why do you say that?”      She turned towards him, staring for a brief moment; and in that brief moment, many thoughts crossed her mind. Her plan of revenge was basically complete and finished. She would now have to pursue living the life that was entirely Lee Jieun’s—she no longer wanted to live for a purpose that wasn’t for her. If she would have to move on anyway, then, why couldn’t she choose Lu Han? He loved her and cared for her. She could now dare to say that she did, too. Very much. She was happy with him. Shouldn’t that be all that matters?      With a small smile, Jieun shook her head. “It’s nothing,” she told him. “I just thought I couldn’t be any happier than I am now.”      He beamed. “Trust me. You’d be surprised.” He then pulled the car over to the side. “And we’re here. Let’s get you all dolled up, princess.”      Once Jieun stepped into the boutique, she was given the impression that only “upper-class” words would be appropriate to describe the place. It was simply beautiful, elegant, and luxurious; every shiny object in the room would most likely be of more value than an average person’s monthly salary.      “Oh my gosh, Lu Han!” From the corner of the shop, a fairly aged woman rushed out, squealing slightly and clapping her hands in excitement. “Is this your bride-to-be? My, my!” She lightly hit him on the back and crossed her arms. “You should’ve contacted sooner! I could’ve prepared much more dresses if only I weren’t given such short notice!”      Lu Han chuckled softly. “It’s okay, ma’am. I trust your fashion sense.”      “Again with calling me ma’am! I told you to address me comfortably as your aunt.” She sighed. “We used to be best of friends, your mother and I. She was the prettiest little flower in our neighborhood. I don’t remember if I told you this, but I even personally made a dress for your mother when she had that informal marriage ceremony with your father in a small chapel...”      Even when his mother was mentioned, Lu Han no longer became sad or upset. “You’ve mentioned it once or twice,” he laughed, “...aunt.”      After a short pat on the back, the woman clapped her hands again. “But anyway, let’s get going.” She turned to face Jieun and gave her a warm smile. “Miss Lee Jieun, was it?”      “Ah, yes,” she replied, folding her figure into a bow. “Nice to meet you.”      “I had several dresses prepared for you, but the moment I saw you, I had this strong gut feeling that you’d best fit this one dress... Trust me, it’ll be the only dress you’ll have to try on today.” She grabbed Jieun by the wrist and began pulling her towards the dressing rooms. “Chop chop. Let’s get your husband’s eyeballs popping out today, shall we?”      Lu Han only laughed as he watched Jieun get dragged away helplessly—her expression was pure gold. “Oh, she’s so cute,” he muttered to himself, pacing himself back and forth in the waiting room. After a few minutes, he grew bored and plopped himself onto the couch, pulling out his phone and fidgeting with it.      “And she’s ready!”      With his aunt’s exclamation as the signal, Lu Han removed his eyes off his phone screen and looked up. The silky curtains seemed to draw open in slow motion; behind them was a figure in white that he could hardly recognize to be Jieun herself. His eyes and mouth went agape slowly, and not a single word escaped past his tongue.      Jieun, who was nervously touching the hem of her dress, was let down by his lack of reactions. Sh

Chapter 21: This was a very beautiful story. So very descriptive and detailed. Also very angsty and somewhat realistic, connects to realworld problems, which i like. Although the ending was sad, i still enjoyed reading. You're a very talented writer, author-nim. Keep it up~!^^

Chapter 22: Okay, I haven't been reading this even though it appeared in my updated subscriptions simply because I am very lazzzzzzzy lol. Well, I'm not even surprised to read this tragic ending cos I know you ain't kind enough to give a happy one. LOL jk, I mean, it's obvious that this is going to end up angst. But to be honest, I quite frustrated with all the main characters here lol. The story's amazing though. I like the epilogue most, the insight about the types of love. :)
